Hello All,

I am a first time cruiser and will be cruising Oct . 2009 Eastern Carribean on Disney Magic. I have been viewing comments and photos on the site. My husband and I have two boys who will be 14 and 18 when we cruise. My oldest will be celebrating his 18th on Halloween and is very excited about this vacation. Both of my boys are very active in sports so can not wait to see the basketball courts on the ship.

My friend had mentioned her last cruise and that she had met so many great people who have also rebooked again for 09. She gave me the site to check out and said everyone is so nice and welcoming to new cruisers. Any helpful hints and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

We are from Wisconsin.

We did the western Caribbean cruise in October, 2006. We're from Colorado, and boy, was it HOT!!!! Our son was 9 during that cruise and the sports deck was his favorite place to hang out. We're doing a 3 day cruise next April, and he's already pretty psyched about the cruise.

I found it the most relaxing vacation I've ever taken. The food was absolutely spectacular, and we were so stuffed that by the time they had the midnight dessert buffet, we skipped it!!! My hubby and I ordered usually two or three appetizers and two or three desserts every night and then split them. It was a way to try stuff we probably wouldn't have otherwise. (Unfortunately, our son only ate chicken fingers. Every night. For all seven nights!!!)

Our servers were fabulous -- by the end of the cruise, they knew what we'd want for beverages and bring them automatically. I recommend the Disney Cruise Line guide book. It really helped us with picking excursions to go on. I want to do the Eastern Carib cruise one day. Western was great, except for Cozumel, which was disappointing. Grand Cayman was fabulous and so was Key West.

Have a good time!
