Hey All!

I know I'm a newbie but still wanted to say bye before packing up and leaving before Hannah hits! DH's staying here due to his job at the fire department-thankfully they don't think I'm important enough to stay! :goodvibes Tonight entales lots of busy packing and tomorrow we're off to Columbia until given the all clear call-hopefully sooner than later. We're just off Hilton Head and everything's we've gotten is showing it's going to hit Charleston Friday. :scared1: (that's a little over an hour north of us)

Ironically, next week, if following the "projected" path, Josiphine is expected to hit near here. The following week is our Disney trip! No hurricanes taking that away from me! :rotfl:

So I'm sue you won't even miss me but wanted to say goodbye before I packed up the laptop to put in the van. If I can get an internet connection, I'll check in but not sure on that so I don't know.

Ok have a safe weekend everyone!!! I'll miss the DISboards that's for sure!:grouphug:

Be safe. You are smart to leave before it heads that way. Personally, I'm hoping it keeps on turning like it has been then disappears. :rolleyes1
Just think.... you should be able to rest up a little before you go to Disney or are you taking projects with you to work on? Have iron, will travel? :lmao:
We are heading down to WDW Friday. I just hope the rain isn't too bad since we will be driving in it.

Be Safe! I am glad to hear you are leaving early. If you get a chance check in so we know you are ok. Lots of fizzle out Hanna vibes to you.

I'm on Hilton Head and can't decide if I am leaving tomorrow or Thursday. (I already had plans to be away for the weekend.) Every update changes where it will make landfall so I don't know how "hurricane proof" I need to make my house. It makes leaving all of your wordly possessions behind very stressful. :scared: But evacuating does take the stress off of you from having to stock up on snacks for the hunker down. ;)

Thanks all for the well wishes....Can I say that I have it on good authority that there will be a mandatory evacuation coming your way??? Word has it that it will begin Thursday morning at 8 am so maybe you'll want to leave tomorrow to beat the crowds.

I have to say it was so weird racing through the grocey store this afternoon buying all kinds bottled water and snacks and stuff for the boys with everyone looking at me like I was crazy! One lady that I talked to didn't even know about it at all :scared1: People were just out like it was a nomal day...people, I know news isn't all that important but really...things like this need a little attention.

Thank you all so much for the thoughts and prayers. No I'm not taking any projects...although I should-maybe I'd finally get one done! :rotfl: I do have more shirts to make for our trip! :rotfl2:

Alright...enough of this craziness...I'm actually ok right now. My OCD controlling nature is doing well considering I don't have a clue what's going to happen. I'll be fine until we have to leave and say goodbye to DH...that will be the worst. :sad1: We're staying with our friend who's DH works with my DH so we can be worried together. They're going to Disney with us in Dec so at least we can talk about that.

Ok...talk to you all soon! Stay safe and don't have too much fun without me!

Thanks for the heads up!! Those firemen always know all the good info. :worship:

Guess I will get up early tomorrow and put away all of my yard stuff and hit the road and hope for the best. I may have to get some hurricane snacks for the road trip though - I have a hankering for Cheetos. :woohoo:

I will see if Panda Jerky is available in the Asian section of the grocery store. You never know???:rotfl2:

Okay, the 11:00 update shows Hanna making land fall right on the GA/SC border - which means the storm will be right on MY HOUSE. :scared1: Needless to say I am getting off this Island tomorrow afternoon before Horrible Hanna pays a visit!!!!! (I shouldn't have looked at the online pictures from Haiti. :sad2: )

Say a prayer that I have a house to come back to. :goodvibes

better to not take a chance....hanna's a very hard one to predict...they still don't know where she's going to make landfall....every update has her in a different place...
getting out sounds like the best strategy..

I just looked at WU and it shows that it is heading for the vicinity of Charleston, Georgetown, Myrtle Beach if my geography is correct.

I spent some time in this area for work years ago. It was one of my favorite places to visit, the folks I worked with at the hospital were some of the nicest in the country. A couple of memorable restaurants and meals (blackened green tomatoes with grits cake).

They brought me on tours of the damage of Hugo from 1989, these tours were a decade later and you could still grasp the damage.

Hope everyone stays safe.

Wonder who else will make recommendations for HFS (Hurrican Food Supplies).

I hope that area of the country is on full alert and folks are getting prepared to move inland. Charleston is such a beautiful city and I hope they taking great care in preparing her for Hanna! Take care all you South and North Carolinians!

Hey All!

Still at work...I've been pm'ing Tonya (on Hilton Head). We're hanging out for the time being as now Hanna's heading to Myrtle Beach (sorry for them but good for us!). No mandatory evacuations as of yet. They're talking about the barrier islands but nothing set in stone yet. Hopefully she continues her trek north!

So I guess I'm ahead of the game with Disney as we're set for snacks now! :rotfl: Dare I even take the tote out of my van? What's two weeks really! :rotfl:

Thank you all so much for the wishes and thoughts and snack suggestions :grouphug: Y'all are great!

On a side note, there may be a Low Country Girls Dole Whip for Bawb meet in two weeks...:rolleyes1 Assuming all goes well with Hanna

This storm is just way too indecisive. I'm in Raleigh and I'm a marketing communications manager for my company, so I'm trying to set up some things to notify our customers, but I have no idea if I need to even bother. :confused3 My group does cover all of NC and SC though, so chances are we'll have some need to do something. At least I have a slow moving storm to distract me from waiting 17 more days for our free dining trip  I guess if I go buy ponchos now they might be dual purpose!! Plus, I have a reason to buy some hurricane snacks :dance3: :dance3: popcorn:: :cake: :drinking1 :mickeybar

Wow! The 5:00 update has Hanna taking a totally different path and has it making landfall in North Carolina. :confused3 Hilton Head isn't even in the Cone. :yay: :yay: :yay: Unless Hanna pulls a Hugo, it looks like Lynn (newtodis) and I are safe and sound. Thanks for all the well wishes!!! :goodvibes
