Hey guys...
My friend bought me a book when she was on vacation at Hilton Head ---- "The Little Black Book of Walt Disney World"... and it's great. I've learned some things I didn't know before and it's gotten me really excited about our up-coming trip.
I've always heard about the mini-golf places on property --- but has anyone been to them? How do you get to them? Do the buses go there? Which one is better?
Thanks guys --- just looking for a bunch of new things to do on our trip!
See ya! :surfweb:

I have played at all the courses and WinterSummerland, Winter Course is my favorite. Fantasia is actually quite difficult.
They are all wonderful though. Not as exotic as some of the "jungle/pirate golf" areas...but great fun.

You have to drive to them. I agree with Don above that Winter is the best.

can you walk to the one across from Swan/Dolphin? We'll be at the Beach Club, so I thought maybe it wouldn't be too far away?

I wouldn't.
Winter Summerland is at Blizzard Beach (shared parking lot) so we combined a day at the water park with a round of Mini Golf :)

We walked to Fantasia Gardens from the Boardwalk in 1997. A long time ago, but I don't recall the walk being too terribly far. I do remember cutting through either the Swan or Dolphin. Should be about the same distance from the Beach.

Hi! We went on our last day (to the "winter/summer" one) so DS & DH could putt-putt. We did drive, but were told by a SSR CM we could take a water parks WDW bus (perhaps Blizzard Beach  ) from DTD and walk across to the putt-putt park. The course was cute... they did the winter side and really enjoyed it! This upcoming trip they are doing the summer side, and also Fantasia! :) If you buy a MYW package a voucher is included for one free round (only for one person) but still... that brings the cost down! Enjoy! :goodvibes

You can definitely walk to Fantasia Gardens, did that a few years back and don't recall it being too difficult at all. Heck, if people walk to the studios they can walk to the mini-golf. I really liked that course, loved that it was difficult. The fairways course was great.

We did the Winter side at Winter Summerland. We enjoyed it. The course is pretty easy, but it might be a little challenging for kids. We took the BB bus to the waterpark and walked over to the mini-golf course. Winter Summerland is in the parking lot of BB. We played the course and then went to BB. Of course, we took to resort bus back to our resort after. So you can take a bus to Winter Summerland from your resort.
We've played them all. Both Fantasia Gardens and Winter - Summerland have two courses. Out of the four 18 hole courses we prefer the Winter course at Winter - Summerland.
you can get to Winter - summerland by taking a Disney World bus to Blizzard beach and then walking about 50 yards to the Winter - Summerland course. It's right next to/inside the Blizzard Beach parking lot.
Getting to Fantasia Gardens is a little more difficult. You'd have to take a bus to the Swan and then walk across a busy street, some landscape, and a parking lot in order to reach the course.
The courses are fun and very well maintained. Have a great time!

you could walk if you don't mind walking it could seem a little far but the walk is doable. I loved all of them, but got three holes in one at fantasia!!! I loved that one!

We used to park at Fantasia when we just wanted to walk around Boardwalk (we love doing that) so no, its not a long walk at all. However we did have to walk on some grass and watch out for some cars! Comming from a city though, i am used to that! :goodvibes

Which one would be best for kids 5 & 6 do you think? As far as theming & fun? We let them cheat like mad and don't keep score of course, so it doesn't matter how difficult it would be.

I would say winter summerland I think they might find the hills too steep at Fantasia! might frustrate them! I know my dad was a little frustrated that he couldn't defeat them!

yeah, it is not a bad walk over to putter golf from swollenphin, there are two courses, one is traditional mini golf, the other is long course... I'd recomend traditional... an dyou can walk it to winter/summer from Blizzard Beach
