to meet ConcKahuna yet, go out of your way to find a way to do so!
This man is simply wonderful. He went out of his way to make my DPs milestone birthday a WDW stay to remember.
We don't have enough words to thank him properly, but thank him we do!
You are the best, ConcKahuna! Thank you for all that you did for us!
(Was the cake ok)?

Oh good! We were afraid you might not like Friday's! Good that you did! :teeth:
The Polynesian surely does do a yummy cake, doesn't it? :teeth:
Wally!!! Mind yourself man! (I'm guessing that the angelic, sainted version of Wally has ended)? :teeth:

Yeah, their bakery does a pretty good job on the cakes. We shared mine with the CL staff because there was no way that we were going to finish it during our stay. The staff was in shock because they said that it's a pretty rare occurance for people to do nice things for them, which is so freakin' sad!
now, um......
(pretend that I am in rambling 4 year old mode for a moment)
They also have a lady that makes pretty fresh flower leis, which sometimes magically make their way into your room, and sometimes the yummiest chocolate surfboards surf right into your room, and sometimes you get a card and balloons from Mickey and Minnie, and and, sometimes there are upgrades that are given out to people for their birthdays or anniversarys or just because it's a day that ends in "Y", and it seems like we know someone who does this for a living, and it's all very magical. :upsidedow
I just wish that we all could find a way to properly thank all of the CM's that make our days more special.

Now that would be something, Timon...
There are some extremely special CMs at WDW. It would be great to have a way to truly be able to thank them in ways that would actually do some good for the CM!! :flower3:

I tried on my last visit to WDW. I went with my sister, and it was just after (or before I don't remember) Easter. I make a Ukrainian Folk Art called Pysanky, other people on here have said that they know what they are, I think. ANYWHO! I made two eggs, one with "Year of A Million Dreams" on the front and the Disney Castle from the beginning of every movie I'd ever seen up to that point. LOL. The other was a traditional Pysanky design. I don't know how I got them onto the airplane, and kept them in one piece, but I did, and when we got there, we headed straight for the mouse and I gave him both eggs, we (my sister and I) were given extra time with Mickey, and got extra pictures. That was excellent for her, she LOVED IT and almost had to change her pants. Just wanted to share.

What's a guy gotta do - strip down, pour warm butterscotch sauce over
himself and walk into the lobby of the Poly? Geesh!

I was going to reply to the other one, but couldn't think of a way to do so without getting a LOT of points... ;)

Aww, David, people always say such nice things after meeting you. It's great that you are so willing to create magic.
Every time I read a thread like this I wonder why I haven't managed to organize myself to meet any of the "local folk" when in wdw. I'm going to have to work on that!

Who's Mike and where is the booze?
Maybe not this trip, but next time I will do a "Meet the CMs Tour". I think it would be a lot of fun. I know a MK Train CM having met her at a WDW Dis meet and then another time, but I think she is the only one I "know" so far.

:rotfl: Yes, but, I don't drink alcohol -- weird, I know.
Sadly, we were at SSR in Jan, but, we'd focused the trip so much on what our extended family would like that we didn't take time for things like that. However, my DMIL and DFIL may have met him without knowing that they were meeting someone famous.

Oh Orlando Mike. Boy am I spaced out.
I had the best Chocolate Martini at the bar in the main building when DI was the name there. Many years ago, I wish I could remember who made it now, but I was a good guest and sent a comment card in about it.

Seasons, yes. Pampano Grill, no. Was that before DI when the resort was the "Golf Club Resort" or something like that? And wasn't Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs the mascots there at one time?
Tree Houses ROCK.

I TRIED to meet Mike AND ConcK! I think they were avoiding me. :rolleyes1
We had an amazing stay at the Poly (even though it was only 2 nights). My upgrade from paltry garden view to concierge with MK view was truly magical!! :goodvibes
We had a nice time at SSR, too, although we probably won't stay there again. AKL is our first love, and our home resort.
I was bummed that we missed Mike, AND ConcK, AND Bob & Bruce, AND Rob & Scott. Maybe next year!

As for the upgrade, that had nothing to do with me (I forgot they were comming that week :rotfl: ), but I'm glad they got it -:thumbsup2

Hey ConcK, can you forget I'm coming next week? I would like an upgrade to concierge at Pop, too! LOL, some of my friends used to listen to people complaining about how their trip was ruined because of the most idiotic things. So one trip we paid them all back, we were at the Stunt Show in DHS and one of the motorcycles wouldn't start. The show was delayed for quite some time. After we left, we told our complaining friends that everyone at the show was given a free upgrade to concierge level rooms at Pop. The complainers never did get that.
Boy was the joke even more funny when the guest services desk was renamed Concierge!
