We are going to be there on Halloween night, we will have our grandchildren. Do kid trick or treat at the fort? If they do how do they do it, go camper to camper? We are not going into the park that night so I would like them to have some fun. What about Downtown Disney?

Thanks for the answer, We are usually there every year around the same weekend, but this is the first that it came out on the 31st. We are going to the BBQ on Thursday, I have heard that it is great for the kids.

We were at FW last Halloween and went to DD on Halloween night. The line of people walking through the stores trick or treating was endless. Our kids were young (5,2), and, while it was "fun", eventually the line got boring. But, they were happy to have gone and also didn't care how much candy they got. We didn't TorT at FW.

We hope to be back at FW this halloween. We will probably head back to DD, although much earlier that last year.

Here is how it works..

Just about dark on Halloween night the campers that participate set up near the road in front of there campers or cabins with some decorations and a light to see with. The kids come by soon after. Some walking, Some on bikes, but most are brought by there parents on golf carts The kids wont stop unless you are out there. Last year we gave out 3 cases of microwave pop-corn packs and 2 very large bags of candy and we ran out at 8:45pm, over 200 kids stopped by.

Stop by we will be somewhere in the 700 loop, I hope. We will be giving out microwave pop-corn again this year.

Jeff,

I showed my oldest dd your post and she said we'll have to go through the 700 loop twice...LOL  (she'll take popcorn over candy any day)

How do we hand out candy if we are taking the kids? Here at home we leave a bowl on the front step or give it to our neighbors to hand out. We only get about a dozen kids though. The number almost doubled when we moved in. We started to put our treat bags together on Thursday. Nothing perishable, just fun bags so far.

I'm going to be taking my kiddo's early (i have 2 that are still really young, so as soon as it gets dark). I'll probably leave a bowl out while we are gone and then when we get back we'll hand out candy at our site. We have a ton of kids that trick or treat at home...so dh and I usually take turns...one taking the little ones early and one taking our older dd later.

Momoffive, we're going to get together at our site (hopefully 900 loop) with the adults and older kiddo's after trick-o-treating. My 2 and 4 year old go to bed so early, so I'll put them down and keep the monitor outside while we have the get together.

I'm just hoping that BJ's or Costco gets the pop-corn in stock soon. Both didn't have any of Halloween bags in today. We give out the pop-corn because everybody else gives out candy.

Disney gives out so much at the exit of the MNSSHP that they give you a bag to carry it in. Last year they tried to give me a case. No way did I need that much candy but I wished I took it the next night when we ran out early.

Would anyone be interested in Dis-meet on Halloween night? We are staying at the pop. It is will be my daughter's seventh birthday. We were planning on going to the campground on Halloween night. Never done this before. This will be our first time down for Halloween.

Don't forget about the headless horseman run at campfire, or the pumkin carving contest, or the goody bags chip and dale give out all decked out in thier cute halloween outfits. And before the start of the movie, they always show an old halloween short.

I didn't go trick or treating as we stayed and watched the movie, but we did see some kids out even after it was over. Some times people will keep a bowl on them in the go-cart and hand it out to other kids as thier kids go to get candy.

when is all this stuff happening? On Halloween night? Does anyone have a schedule? We are going to the party at the mk the night before, so we are going to do all of this on halloween night?

My family and I will be at FW the week of Halloween also! It's our very first trip to Disney! Our 4 yr old DD will be Minnie Mouse for Halloween (pink costume sold at Disney Store). We are looking forward to TorT at the Fort, and it sounds like there is plenty to do there on Halloween night (and to think that I was concerned about not having bought tix to MNSSHP).
Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

I'm Sooooooooo sad. I wanted to go for Halloween but I teach preschool and my director won't let me have Halloween off. I have to be there for the costume parade and I live in California. There is just no way to get there before Halloween night. So we will be there Oct. 14 to the 24 at Port for 3 night and the cabins for 7. Oh well, maybe next year. Halloween is on Saturday next year.

Is there a schedule when you check in?

I've been worried about Halloween. The kiddos don't know we are going and they are all (7, 4, 2--all about to have birthdays) excited about Halloween. We're going to MNSSHP on the 28th and I've been trying to figure out Halloween itself. We switched from the GF to the cabins so that they would be able to carve pumpkins. I'm getting so excited. Trick-or-Treating with other campers--who would have ever thought. :lovestruc
