I have not been to Narcoosee's before, I was planning to go with DH one night but wonder if its worth 2 TS credits? Is California Grill also 2 TS credits?

Can't answer your 'worth it' question as we have not dined there yet (though I would love to hear other's thoughts as well) but can tell you that both are 2TS credit restaurants.

Another vote for Narcoosee's being worth the 2 credits! I had an anniversary dinner there in May, food was spectacular, service was impeccable and view is beautiful.
You will enjoy it.:)

Value wise it is certainly worth it, especially if you get the surf and turf or the whole lobster (I recommend the whole Lobster)
California Grill, dollar wise, is not 'worth it' if you are paying OOP for two other TS options.

The Narcoosee's Surf and Turf is so worth the 2 TS credits!! Filet Mignon and Lobster Tail. OOP price is $58, then about $7 for dessert. The food is excellent.

Narcoosees is very good, we pay OOP with the DDE. Regarding using 2 TS DDP credits, ITA that if you get the most expensive entrees, yes it is worth it. But if you order a $30 entree and $10 dessert, probably not. FWIW.

I LOVE Narcoossees, worth the 2 ts credits! Try to go at night to see the fireworks, but if you cant maybe go a little early and then you can watch them from the dock out back.
The food is excellent! I love that place!

We feel it was well worth it, but we don't calculate it to the penny. We wanted to eat there and we already had plans to eat offsite one day, so we had the extra credits.
And it was probably our favorite meal of the trip, so we feel it was well worth it.
Oh, and we had the Whole Maine Lobster, which was just incredible!! Just an FYI, the lobster tails in the surf & turf are not the same as the Whole Maine Lobster. They come from different waters and do taste differently.

Well, unfortunately, the crab cakes would be OOP, but the rest is definitely worth 2 TS!
I had the crab cakes as an appetizer on the 2007 DP. If I were going to pay OOP for just appetizer this time hands down these crab cakes would be my choice. The chowder there might be my mother's choice.
Not only is the lobster in the Surf & Turf fantastic I substituted the scallops for the Turf. I was expecting 3-4 scallops, nope I got more like 6-8 and they were melt in your mouth good. My beverage was a Mango Smoothie :yay: . Honestly, I didn't have room for dessert and skipped getting one. I did however taste my Mother's Almond Crusted cheesecake, oh my oh my and I am NOT a cheese cake fan, it is that good. We ordered the kids banana split for my nephew's meal and that was tasty too. We left extra tip at just one restaurant all week, this was the place.
If you have buffets planned for the kids you may want to pay OOP here for them. We paid $6 for my nephew to have pasta and saved his TS for Chef Mickey's and another character meal.
OK, foolish question, but how do you pronounce this? nar-coo-sees like it is spelled? WHere is this name from anyway?

The lobster at Narcoosee's often is only fair. So, my answer is . . . maybe. Depends on whether it's a good night or not. You can't determine merely by price whether it's worth 2TS or not.

ABSOLUTELY YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My dh loved the lobster and I loved the steak. They also have a salad to die for. I believe it is called "Endive Pear Salad". I am not a pecan lover but I loved the pecans in this salad. TOOOOO good.
Enjoy

now you've got me totally looking forward to this meal... before i booked it just 'cause dh wanted to try it... now i'm psyched!! and dd will be equally thrilled as she is dying to order surf & turf again (had it as a special at lecellier a few years back and not since!) :)

Glad to hear it's worth it and I thank y'all for the suggestion of the Surf n Turf. We'll be there on Sunday night for our first anniversary.
The only "problem" is that I ordered a suprise anniversary cake topper that is a replica of our wedding cake for my DH to be brought out for us that night. So we'll likely not be getting any of the Narcoossee's dessert. Or maybe we will anyways and just bring it back to the room....can you say "breakfast", anyone?! LOL

Your timing is perfect for fireworks! And dont fret over where you get seated, the whole resteraunt goes out onto the deck to watch them, so in a window seat your view would be blocked anyway. We had our main course, then saw fireworks, then came in for some dessert. We did also see the electric water parade, it was magical!

This would be a big mistake, a major faux paus, a "no you didit"...you must order the Almond Crusted Cheesecake, take it back to the room. It is a necessary part of the Narcoossee's experience. Please, please, please don't pass on this item.
By the way I love the "I ordered it for my DH" ;) :rotfl:

What's wrong with dessert for breakfast?
I have a question for you though (please don't flame me for being off topic :guilty: ). Are you getting the anniversary cake through the GF bakery because you had a Disney wedding or were you able to order it through the bakery and they're doing a custom cake based on your actual wedding cake from somewhere else? I hope that makes sense. I want to do the same thing for our dinner at Citricos on our anniversary trip but was told that the GF bakery will only do an anniversary cake replica if they did your original wedding cake.
TIA!

I guess I'll just be throwing that scale away!! :rotfl:

We didn't have a Disney wedding, I just ordered it through the GF bakery. When I called, I asked for a custom wedding cake replica for our anniversary. Linda asked me if I was a Disney bride and I said no, and she said that she'd check with the chef to see if they could replicate our cake. She had me email a picture of our cake from a bakery here in Houston. She checked with the pastry chef and they said they could do it. I guess since I was just really nice to her she worked with me. It was $55, which I think is what they charge for the anniversary toppers anyways.

Really? It was only $55? We did have a Disney wedding and we LOVED our cake (they make killer wedding cakes - the best I've ever tasted). We're doing Narcoossee's later this month - I wonder if I should get an anniversary layer even though it will only be 5 months for us:idea:
I think very worth it! My sons 12 & almost 10 specificly asked if we can eat at Narcoossee's again. We all love Calif Grill too. I think they are both worth it. Of the two, Narcoossee's is my favorite.

This can be a point of debate that is sometimes heated around here. I don't feel that it should be at all.
If you would bring your 2yo and 5yo to an upscale restaurant at home, then they'll be fine there. You know your children best, and know what they are capable of at dinnertime.
We brought our kids (24 months and 4years 11months) to Narcoosee's last October. They were fine, just like I thought they would be. We went early, because we usually eat early and it was very nice.

I personally don't see an issue with it. We are going in Nov, and we are bringing our 4 DD's. They are 11, 9, 7, and 3 1/2. Granted we are eating at 5:30, as to keep everyone happy. I think you will be fine. Have fun! :)

I had no idea they'll let you substitute the lobster tail for another "turf"! I'm lukewarm about lobster tail but I love scallops. We plan to visit N for the first time on our upcoming December trip (using the DDP) and I'm so excited that I'll be able to order steak and scallops. Thank you for the tip!

I plan to bring our two kids, one would be 4 1/2 and the other 18 months at the time of the trip. Our kids are used to dining out, and we make sure to eat during their normal dinner times so they are not tired. DS1 is good about entertaining himself drawing with crayons and either DH or I will take DS2 out if he gets fussy so we won't disturb other diners. As long as your kids will be well behaved (or you have plans to take them outside for a break if they get antsy between courses), the restaurant does not have a "no kids" policy, and you eat early (well before they are tired), I see no reason why you should not bring kids that age to any restaurant.

Do they pipe in the music so you can hear it from the deck?
How good is the view?

The pipe the music on the deck, & you are across from the castle, so the view is nice, but not as great as being at the MK. We could see the fireworks, and we could KIND of see tink fly by. It was a very romantic resteraunt. :)

Is Narcoosee's worth 2 TS credits?
I'd have to say YES. And I say yes with the following story. DW and I were at WDW in February 2008 after a nasty miscarriage. We thought the Disney magic would get us back on track. Turns out that just about everything that could go wrong with a spur-of the-moment trip did. Nasty, dirty room at CBR, DW was sick most of the stay, DDP went to waste without 80% of it being used, rude European Disney visitor HARD elbowed my wife for no reason whatsoever and walked on, etc.
Long story short, we ended up at Narcoosee's for dinner one night. Once we got a table (facing the Magic Kingdom) things looked up. Our server (can't remember his name) asked how our day was and sensed that we severely bummed. Suffice to say, he went OUT OF HIS WAY to cheer us up. I can not say enough about this gentleman. From our first drink order, to the final desert selection, this guy was attentive, but not overly attentive (if you get my drift). He brought us cheesy kid Disney straws to cheer us up (which we still have today by the way). He talked with us. I'll say that again. He talked with us and listened to our saga - and seemed to care! Not to go un-noticed, the food was outstanding and the fireworks rocked! Again, our server was outstanding (and he got an OUTSTANDING tip as well). I really respond well to being treated as a person and not a number. In this case, our server was the best given our circumstance.
Bottom line, I'm not pretending that every experience at Narcoosee's will be the same, but I think it is worth a try. Sincerely, Best of Luck! :thumbsup2

Get the Whole Maine Lobster! It was out of this world fantastic. I remember comparing it to the lobster we'd had in Boston a few months earlier. The Boston lobster was severely overcooked and dry. It was awful. But at Narcoossee's - cooked to absolute perfection!
