hi all
does anyone know if the price indicated on the dollar website include "fully inclusive insurance"??
using a discount code dollar have quoted a minivan for 2 weeks for $436 in sept 2002.
if that does include the full insurance then it's a very good price.
thanks

The first page is what it would cost without taxes and fees and then you click 'reserve' and it tells you the total with taxes and fees, I think.
It does tell you the taxes and fees somewhere before you actually reserve the car....
Good luck with you rate!

Many car insurance policies(including mine with state farm) also offer coverage for rental cars. Often your credit card picks up where the car insurance policy left off. This can save as much as $25 per day . Call your agent .It's really helped our budget.

when I checked the initial quote doesn't include full insurance so it makes it far more expensive than what I have already booked - phew ! :)

Hi,
neilybealy - I see you are from the UK as well, are these codes US based, I need to book a rental for October, should I wait nearer the time or book now? Who did you use, if you don't mind me asking.
Many thanks

You may want to try National if you belong to Disney Club. You can join National's Emerald Aisle for free if you belong to DC (I think this is still in effect). And there are usually discounts through the DC website for National. We just rented a car in Washington DC and got 2 discounts on the rental through DC (one weekend day free and a percentage discount). Saved about $90 on a 3 day rental. We also have gotten good discounts renting through National at MCO, with either the Emerald Aisle or DC discounts.

Hi Jennie
I have already booked but wanted to see if was any cheaper using one of the discount codes.
I booked with Holiday Autos (http://www.holidayautos.co.uk/) - check their site for a guide price and then call them as you'll often get it cheaper as they price match.
I have booked the following for 2 weeks from 21 Sept 2002:
2 x 8 seater minivan £1000
1 x full size car £348
That includes full insurance (petrol etc) and 4 drivers on EACH vehicle which is pretty good (methinks!)
The only downside (which I didn't realise til after I had booked) is that the rental is with alamo who are offsite but it only means a 10 min bus ride away which I'm hoping isn't too much of a problem.
If you need anymore info please ask or pm/mail me.
Have fun
Neil

Neil,
The best I can get from October 25 - Nov 7 from Holiday Autos is £363 for a compact, fully loaded with extra driver. I can get the same deal from Florida Car Hire for £342, 1st for Florida £354 and the best yet from Choice Air Holidays £333. All are dollar cars pick up inthe airport, apart from Holiday Autos.
I have not tried any discount codes, not 100% sure how they work, what they are and where to get them? I got a quote online from Dollar direct - they charge £390. Maybe the cost is higher because of half term? You certainly have got a good deal, a full size car, fully loaded and 4 extra drivers. How many of you are going? Sounds like you will have a blast!

did you get that price on the phone??
looking at the documents they sent they've given me £102 discount on the full size which is why i've got it so cheap.
there's only 10 adults plus a 7 month old baby going.......
myself and my g/f
my mum / dad
g/f's mum / dad
g/f's bro / g/f and baby
g/f's mum's cousin / hubby
we had intended just getting two 7 seater vans but they said the 7 seater's didn't have much room for luggage - then they said we could have the 8 seater for the same price !!
we then decided to go for an extra car to give us extra flexibility - we'll probably find that one of the vehicles isn't used for most of the holiday but at least we've got it if needed.
i'm just waiting on a call back from virgintravelstore because we've decided to go for the disney 10 day world pass that's on offer - £190 for an adult which is pretty good.
i'm rambling on now so have fun

Rolling Hills  does look very nice, it is on the same stretch of road as Formosa Gardens and Wyndham Palms, thats where we are staying in October - there is a really good villa location map at :
http://www.1stfororlando.com/Location-map.htm
You have probably seen it, but just in case.

We booked with Dolar. flying into Tampa, not going to WDW, this time , and got a very good rate using Dollar's FVG code for a compact. Renting for 2 weeks and 5 days for $496. That's the best price I can find, although I will go back and try that FISH code that someone posted. Have a fun trip!:)

Hey Karensi
It always seems to be more expensive to rent out of Tampa. If I see some specials I'll let you know

Connie, Thanks so much. I would really appreciate it if you did let me know about any other discount rates you may come accross. Although I feel I found the best rate I could get at the time I still would be happy to pay less than the $496 rate we now have. Thanks again:)

Salandjeff,
Went you book your car with National and use the DC discount, do you have to show them the DC card to the rep when you pickup the car at MCO.
Thanks, kenman64

When we just rented our car for our Washington trip, we picked up the car here in Connecticut and they didn't want to see the card, but did want the coupon that we printed from the DC site for the 2nd discount. When we rented at MCO last year, they DID want to see our EA card, DC card and coupon (if you have one) from the DC site.
