Hi!
I know that this is a challenge even for the most experienced but does anyone have any good inside photos from HM? Thanks!! It's my favorite ride!
I have a few HERE (http://www.capturelifeinaction.com/gallery/4406043_FcTgs#361884707_fW5Wx). That is a tuff ride to get pictures on though- some are better than others.

Jeff, My kids & I were looking at your haunted mansion pictures this morning. Really awesome!
But I have to ask a stupid question how many trips through did it take to get all those pictures? You didn't get that many good pictures on one trip through...Did you?

Jeff spends more time at WDW than the rest of us do at home. :lmao: He's also got a rather bonkers brand-new camera - I think he bought it just for WDW on-ride photos. ;)
I'd gotten a few, but it is very, very tricky.

This shot is really pretty lousy, but it's extra, extra, extra tough to get the footsteps on the Escher stairs! :)

The Haunted Mansion is my favorite ride also, but it's really, really tough to get good exposures in there. Here's a pretty decent one from my last trip:

May I ask how you do these? Are you allowed to photograph inside the HM? I am always so concerned about taking pics in places that I usually don't, and then I'm sorry.
I'm a rule follower...sometimes I make up the rules...LOL

Welllll, it's not breaking the rules. You're not supposed to take FLASH photography. Most, if not all of these, were taken without flashes. :thumbsup2 That's why it's so difficult to get a good shot; dark ride w/o flash means a lot of rough drafts! ;)

What about a focus assist light? That's ok?

If it is one of the orange/red ones, then I do not see too much of a problem b/c it does not blind the other guests. It might annoy them though. If it is just a reduced flash, then I say no way.

found some from 2005...
if we are on a ride alone, which happens a lot on EMH when they are until 2am LOL, then I do break the rules and take pics

Ugh, it's not just that its against the rules, annoys others, etc.. I don't even really want to see what it looks like flashed at all, even if I can.

No offense, but the shot with the flash is not good. It ruins the effect that the low lighting gives.

OK... Now that I've got the login correct, here's my best. This took several attempts at ISO3200, spot metering and manual focus with my 50mm f1.8 wide open but I liked it. This is a pretty tight crop.

FWIW, I find the red focus assist light pretty annoying, too. Not quite on the level of a laser pointer but similar.
I'm with Code, though - even if you could, why would you ever want to? It makes even the best ride (and HM is the best ride as we all know! ;) ) look like a junky carnival sideshow ride.
