Okay, okay, I admit it!! Sheesh! I remember "Ode to Billy Joe", too! And yes, it was Robbie Benson, Barb. And Glynnis O'Connor was the girl. I remember it so well, because my much older sisters told me about it. Yeah, that's it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!:p

My mom had a Bobbie Gentry and Glen Campbell LP when I was young. I though Bobbie Gentry was soooo cool. It was the first time I ever remember taking notice of the name "Gentry." I liked it and kept it in the back of my mind for many many years. Two years ago when dd was born - I named her Gentry. Anytime someone asks me why I named her that I am a bit embarrassed to tell the story :)
