Will you have a car? I'm assuming that you won't. You could either take a cab or if you need other groceries order from the Garden Grocer. Have a wonderful trip.

no car
Ive carried it back from the Boardwalk Hess to the Beach Club
but wondering if there's anything that easy at Old Key West?

There's a Hess across from Downtown Disney, it's probably closer to the Pleasure Island stop (not sure). They also sell it in the store at OKW.

Well, you could take a boat or bus to DtD, then walk to Goodings or the Hess Station near the Casting Office.

We aren't beer drinkers so I don't know for sure but we bought wine and champagne at the store at OKW. I can't imagine they wouldn't have beer also. They seemed to have tons of Bar-b-que/picnic supplies.

How much are you planning to buy? Ask them to bag it.

Assuming it is bagged and unopened, I don't see why not. The Hess would likely be cheaper than Gooding's. The alcohol products at the resort stores is EXPENSIVE.

You can say that again. I sent DH to the resort store for a six pack and couldn't believe what he said he paid for it. It was more than I paid for a twelve pack in the Winn-Dixie just down the road.

I would suggest as another poster has, that you use a grocery delivery service. I have used wegoshop with great success, but other swear by gardengrocer. I haven't tried the cab route, but I think the delivery fee charged by the grocery services would be cheaper than the cab fare.
Besides, that way you can have the peanuts and pretzels delivered at the same time. :goodvibes
Hopefully

We too have used Wegoshop.com to deliver to the Villa. They were wonderful. You can request which store they shop at. You order exactly what you want rather than picking from a list on their web site. There is no minimum order, although their delivery fee is higher. But that said, they give you a 30 minute delivery window, rather than a 2 hour window. We have used them 5 times and been very satisfied each time.
Although beer and wine were important to us we also ordered; fruit, juice, coffee, soda, water, beer, wine, cheese and crackers and snacks. It was well worth it and we feel we saved the delivery fee over buying beer, wine and water in the resort store.
Hope this helps.

Are you over 21? LOL! :rotfl:
As mentioned above, you can just take a taxi from OKW to Goodings to pick some up. Might be cheaper than ordering through a grocery service between delivery charge, tips, etc. Some delivery services do have minimum order requirements as well.

I'd use a grocery delivery service or even consider a 1 -day car rental if you want more control over the purchase. Otherwise, I'd follow the suggestions about bus/boat to DTD, Pleasure Island stop, and hoofing it to the Hess station.

Well we did this same thing when we were at OKW last year. Took the bus to DTD (Pleasure Island stop), walked across street to Hess and got a 12 pack of Diet Coke and a 12 pack of beer (I did put beer in a bag), walked back to bus stop and then back to OKW. I found the Hess prices to be very good.

We have bought beer at the Hess by DTD and took it on the bus. We took a duffel bag with us. we also bought pop, fruit, coffee. Best of all before we bought the beer and other stuff, we bought a slice of pizza and a soda and went out to the curb to eat it. So this was our dinner for one night and it cost us only a fraction of what it would have at Disney.
They have a good selection of hot food such as differet subs, pizza by the slice or whole and already cooked, nacho's.

Me too! Fortunately we drive and bring plenty with us. Sure beats WDW prices. I usually drink Coors Light and bought an 18 pack on sale for $12 before i left home. I think a beer at Germany is $7.50, I stick with my cheap beer thank you. So using everyone's logic from earlier posts, does that mean they can bring a keg on the Disney Bus as long as it is in a bag?
That'd be great to see someone wheeling up a keg in a giant Mickey duffel bag on a hand truck.

You guys are working too hard at this. Disney pay is below dismal. Find a willing CM of age and tip them to hop over to Hess on a break. You'll make their day, they'll make 20 bucks, and you'll have beer! Without breaking a sweat.
And nobody even blinks when a CM rolls a BIG keg in. Prosit!

You can rent a scooter from an offsite company for your stay and ride to Hess ;) The DVC ferry boat and buses accomodate scooters. Some even have a handy dandy basket to carry your items.
Though I'm trying to picture you "scooter dancing" at Off Kilter.

This is one thread that has made me :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:.
Clearly, I don't drink as much beer as I did in college. But I am amazed at the amount of money people are willing to pay to pay less per 6-pack than buying beer from a resort store at Disney. I can only imagine what the cost of a 6-pack is when you add :teacher: the transportation costs and the value of your time to go off property to get beer.
Although I will admit that going to Hess to get beer doesn't sound like such a bad deal. :cool1:

Just got back where DH and his brother did a beer run from SSR after seeing it was $5 for one drink.
They left with the intention of hopping a bus to DTD and crossing the street. They get there and discover the normal bus stop is closed and they're dropped off waaay far away. Decide to make the trek, anyway. Get the beer, cross the street again, and discovered they were celebrities. A cop on a bike stopped them to tell them he was jealous, people were honking and hollering, and the boys were thrilled :rotfl2: They make the trek all the way to the OTHER end of DTD (why? I don't know...they just wanted a beer by that time so the story got shortened) get on the bus, and wait through every single stop it makes. They get back an hour and a half later, and the bottom of BIL's cardboard case breaks open and several bottles break.
Next time they will do as disboarding DW suggested and have garden grocer deliver it with the groceries :wizard:

Why yes, Paulh, it was raining off and on that afternoon, but thank you for your kind words and considerate analysis of my light-hearted story. As I was unable to convince them to have the beer delivered, and I was unable to convince them to take something to carry the beer in, of course I should've insisted that they check the map and plan accordingly instead of hopping the nearest bus. Was torn between renting a car and using DME and Resort busses to get around during our 4 nite stay in November with a 3 day cruise added on. After spending $15.00 for 2 drinks at the BWV pool bar during a recent trip, it actually will be cheaper to rent the car for the week at $110.00 and stopping at the ABC store to buy our own liquor and "Bucket-O-Margaritas" that we'll drink during the week by the pool. We're not big drinkers but those pool drinks can get very expensive at $7.50-$8.00 each.
