I've been enjoying watching the little captions under the growing baby - we are inquiring minds, we need to know!!!
After the big nesting action recently seems like it should be soon, how are you feeling Jennifer?
:cheer2: Let's go baby!!!:cheer2:

My jaw dropped when I saw this thread. I really didn't think anyone cared, I was just sharing my life. You are so thoughtful for asking.
I'm doing fine except for this cold that seems to have come from nowhere. I guess those new kindergarten germs have gotten ahold of me and DD. We are both snuffley but I'm feeling worse because I'm limited on what meds I can take.
The baby is rolling and kicking me in the ribs any chance he gets. I think he is going to be bigger than the other 2. ACK!
Now it's a waiting game.....

I know. It seem like evey time I get a cold it goes right to my sinuses and it feels like my face is going to explode. My doc said I have a slight deviated septum, but nothing that would indicate surgery (and I like the shape of my nose).
So here I sit, still in my pjs feeling yucky. DD is off from kindergarten and being an angel (stuffy nose and all). Luckily my Mom is going to take her for the night, and DH can watch DS tonight while I rest. Now I just have to pack her stuff.
You know it's hard enough being pregnant in the summer. It's so hot all the time. Now add a fever in the mix and I'm just miserable. I barely slept last night (not that sleeping now is easy anyway), and when I did it was only for an hour at a time.
Okay, whining done.

I am feeling a bit like Eeyore today with a sinus infection.
You poor thing!! Try using Simply Saline to clear out your sinuses - a neti pot would work better but you can get Simply Saline at the drug store and it should be PG friendly.

:scared: BITE YOUR TONGUE!!! ;)
Doc will hopefully induce me on the 10th. She gave strict instructions to my husband to assist in the process...:lovestruc Poor guy....
 Luckily I can take a z-pack of antibiotics. It's the only thing that will clear this "colored snot". TMI? DH is going out tonight to pick it up. So tylenol and sudafed/actifed are my friends right now.
So what else can I tell ya'll? So far I've gained a total of 11 pounds. Baby's heartbeat was in the 140s. And at the ultrasound last week he is without a doubt a boy. The tech put the scanner on my belly and there he was in all his glory showing off the goods. We even got to see it work. Weird and kind of gross. He was doing his practice breathing and doing the dance of the cervix (TMI?).

I only gained 18 with DD and 11 with DS so looks like I'm on the same track this time. My problem is afterwards, I seem to gain it all back.:confused3
The dance is just a lot of pressure and sharp pains down low. At the U/S last week the baby's head was low and pushing on the cervix, which explains the pains. It happens when you are walking mostly and you feel like everything is going to fall out.
Have I grossed anyone out yet? I guess after you have been through this 3 times all shame goes out the window.
Julie - I don't want to scare you. It really is great the first time around....;)

Jen, have you tried my favorite remedy? Take a jar of Vicks and just hold it under your nose and inhale as much as possible. Also a HOT shower and try exhaling through your nose. And those Shower Soother tablets. They create a great steam. That is good for draining the sinuses. I get some major fall allergies so the jar of Vicks is standing by and need to pickup more Shower Soothers.

I'm not a vicks fan, but I do put a hot washcloth or heating pad on the sinuses and it helps a lot with the pressure and loosens it up enough to where I can blow.
I can't take HOT showers or baths right now. I'll pass out.:faint: Boy would that be a sight.:sad2:

So far today has been quiet. DH went golfing with my Dad and DD spent the night at my Moms. Luckly DS likes to sleep in so I got to rest a little this morning. When DH got home I went to bed for a few hours. I woke up feeling better. Still really stuffy, but the pressure in the sinuses is gone.
No plans for the weekend except to attempt the laundry and clean the living and dining room. That will leave the kitchen and family room and I should be all caught up.
I got DS to stay clean and dry in his Thomas Tank underwear all morning today! YEAH! The DH took over and you can guess what happened.... Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Hey, I got the laundry from the dryer to the clothes basket today! I'm moving right along.....
Is it freakin' hot or is it me? I'm sitting here in the A/C, with a floor fan directly on me (yeah, I know, I'm still sick) and I'm sweating like crazy! These hormones suck on a normal day, but in the summer it's unbearable!

We're still using our ac too. I have more of the hot flashes issue than you young'uns - I'd leave it on year round if my dh didn't complain - use a ceiling fan too! You should feel our house in the winter - I keep it SOOO cold at night!! love it - get to "hunker down" under the comforter. But for now, it's ac for me.
So, Jen was busy being creative. My daughter's birthday is Friday (the 5th). Sounds like a good day to me. :yay:
I wonder how big Julie's getting. My niece is having identical twin girls - she's due December 19th. We had her baby shower the other day - she is so big already. She looks 9 months pregnant and has 3 (more or less) months to go. She probably won't get to the 19th, I'm guessing more like December1st.

So let's see... what's new today. Well, I'm going to the docs at 12pm today so hopefully I'll have some news to share.
My MIL is going to fly in from Florida from the 22-29. Need to find an air mattress for her to sleep on. I'm going to put her in the baby's room since he won't be sleeping there yet and I don't think she'll fit in the crib (although she is quite petitie). ;) She used to have an in-home daycare and is awesome with the kids so I'm glad she is coming. Plus she cleans and does laundry!! whoo hoo!!!
Oh, my list of things to take to the hospital. Have I forgot anything?

video camera
pillow
robe
slippers/socks
2 outfits for me
3 outfits for baby (for hospital picture)
make up
hair stuff
shower stuff
cell charger
presents for kids from baby
cord blood kit (I'm donating the cord blood)
snacks and a change of clothes for Chris
Hate to pack a bunch of stuff, because I don't want to have to drag it all back.
That's it for now. I'll update everyone after I get back this afternoon. Everyone pray for some dialation!!

Don, are you grossed out?!?!?!?
So..... went to the doctors today.... I'm 2cm dialated and 75% effaced. Doc wrote up my orders for induction for the 10th! Woo Hoo!:yay: :woohoo: So that means after 5am, we can expect a phone call from the hospital saying come in, we have a bed for you. On the other side, if there is no bed, I may have to wait until later in the day for that coveted phone call.
I'm very excited and a bit nervous. Have a lot of logistics to figure out. Like who's going to take DD to the bus (my mom will pick her up), and who is going to take DS to daycare and pick him up? It's hard to plan this stuff since it mostly depends on when I get a bed and when I deliver.
Life would be so much easier if I were rich.

Well I was going for laser hair removal before I got pregnant, but had to stop. Had the "chiskers" and bikini line done and love my results. When I got pregnant with DD I started growing another set of eyebrows under my chin. It was terribly embarrassing. My hormones just went nuts! Now it's all gone! I'm going to finish up the session sometime in the winter and start a new round for the underarms.
I was reading in Family Circle or Womens Day yesterday about Botox being covered in the underarm area to stop sweating by your medical insurance. May have to look into that too.

My DH and your DH must be related. You describe mine to a T. A quote from my DH. I don't have friends, because friends cost money! Whatever that means? My DH and your DH must be related. You describe mine to a T. A quote from my DH. I don't have friends, because friends cost money! Whatever that means? He can be social if need be, like at teacher's appointments for the kids or functions we have to attend (like weddings, funerals, etc.), but he likes to fly below the radar whenever possible.
And you and I sound a lot alike as well. :rotfl:
My DH is pretty quiet too. I'm starting to see a pattern here...

LOL, I'm hoping to make it to the 10th for the induction. I really want my doctor. You ladies know what I mean. Don't want "other" doctors poking around in the nether region.

Ugh, I am soooooooooooo past the try try try again phase. Now with Hanna coming up the east coast I'm a bit nervous (that whole barametric pressure thing actually puts us ladies into labor and I don't want that). At least not until Wednesday.
Now my hubby has the sinus infection, Poor thing. I made him call the doc yesterday and she put him on antibiotics without seeing him. He basically told her, my wife is having a baby on Wednesday and I need to be well.
I still have a cough and a bit of phlegm, but I'm mostly back to myself. I just can't seem to sleep. My hips are killing me at night when I lay down.

Hi all! Still hanging in.
Liz - I believe you. Seems like all the wackos come out of the wood work when a storm has been around.
So today we crossed off everything left on our "to do before the baby comes" list. Raised the crib, installed the car seat base in the car, set up the bassinet in our bedroom, and set up the pack n play in the family room. Also, dug out the jars of vaseline for the little guys circ.
I still have to go through the diaper bags and re-stock them and add the baby stuff. I keep a bag in each car. I plan on going to Walmart tomorrow to get the kids a gift from the new baby for when they come to the hospital, plus a few odds and ends. Tuesday I'm heading to the grocery store to stock up.
On the slightly more gross and TMI side, I probably won't eat anything after 12pm on Tuesday unless it's bran or ruffage. You ladies who have given birth know what I'm trying to accomplish..... ;)
We told DD that the baby will be coming on Wednesday. She got so excited when she counted the days. She started talking to my belly and saying "I love you baby". Melted my heart.
Also, just found out a family friend has passed away. She's been ill for a long time, but it's still sad. Don't you know everything is scheduled for Wednesday so a card will have to do.
Oh, I want to get a pedicure before I go in too. Need some pretty toes. And I "washed that gray right out of my hair" yesterday. Why is it, when men get gray they look distinguished, but we women look old?!?!?
Well, that's all I can think of. If I remember anything else, I'll let you know.
Until tomorrow....

My DH has actually been gone the last few days. My DMIL got really sick while we were in WDW and has been hospitalized for three weeks now. Poor thing went in with a bowel obstruction that turned into a whole domino effect with everything from blood clots to a second surgery due to torn sutures. It has been an emotional roller coaster as she would have a good day, and then several bad days. She appears to have stabilized now and I hope she continues to improve each day. Luckily she lives only three hours away so DH was able to drive up there immediately.

Michelle - You are so bad. Remember what they say about paybacks.... I'll save you some mesh panties.
What I've been told is to expect a phone call anytime after 4am and could be as late as 8am. Just pray there is a bed for me. If there is no bed... no baby.
Labor... Let's discuss.
With Emma, I was 12 days past my due date (GASP). I started contracting the day before at the doctor's office. While in for my visit, she stripped my membranes and labor really got kicking that evening. After midnight things slowed down a bit and they let me rest until 7am when the nurse hooked up the Pitocen. I pushed for about an hour and there she was.
With Ethan, I was scheduled for induction 10 days before my due date. Went to the hospital the night before and got the FOLEY BULB. Ladies and gentlemen, this is not comfortable by any stretch of the imagination. Everyone know what the foley bulb does? Imagine the cervix as the bottom portion of a balloon. When you dialate, the opening gets bigger, when you eface, the length of the opening gets shorter. When the doctor inserts the bulb, it forces your cervix open to 3 cm by injecting saline into it. OUCH! Then you get to lay there with this tube hanging out of you taped to your inner thigh for hours. It's really fun when you get up to walk around. I remember distinctly the sound of a POP when the nurse came in the next morning to remove it. Remember the song Lollipop, lollipop, oh lolli lolli POP. Well, that the sound it makes as the nurse yanks it out of your cervix. Anyway, moving on. Once the contractions got started he was ready. I pushed through 2 contractions for about 4 minutes and he was out. While the process of getting him out wasn't comfortable, the recovery was amazing compared to my first.
Luckily no foley bulb is needed this time....
Let's see, who have I grossed out or shocked today.
I often wonder if Julie is reading this thread and thinking O.M.G.:scared1:
You know, I feel I should add this. While sharing the adventures of pregnancy has been a lot of fun, I wanted to say that getting to this point wasn't easy for us. While Chris and I have never had to turn to advanced medicine to get pregnant, it was a long road. With each pregnancy, we tried for almost a year. It seemed like when I would get to the point of "that's it, I'm calling the doctor", our prayers were finally answered. By no means do I intend to offend anyone by the silliness of my postings. But it's nice to have a little laugh after a long and tough road.
Okay, I'm getting emotional. Love you guys.

Wow Lisa, so jealous of your quick labors!
Jen- that is crazy on the foley bulb, i was grimacing just reading it. I am sure we have defintely scared the weak stomachs away now. And how amazing is that, when you were just about to give up or get help, boom, you get pregnant! that is so great. I totally understand needing to laugh about it now. After enduring almost 2 years of negative pregnancy tests every month even after doing fertility drugs, i was just wiped out emotionally (and physically and financially) and completely cried out. So it's nice to be able to laugh about some of it now. :wizard:
my labor was not too bad. went in the night before for induction- got the cervadil over night. i was already a 2 before going in. started pitocin at 5am next morning. broke my water at 9am and then i was hurting. hello and thank you epidural at 10am. was moving slowly and at like a 6 at 2pm. My epi was wearing off, and i had bad back pains- so they upped it......OOPS............TOO MUCH! i can't feel a thing! they come back at 3:45pm and i am a full 10, ready to push. But i can't feel ANYTHING! how do i push, i can't feel my thigh or toe or anything. So at 4pm, they are finally getting it all ready to go. I pushed for an hour and 20 minutes, but it felt like it was only 20 minutes. it went by fast. i assumed i was pushing, although i couldn't feel a thing. i literally felt no pain, just jello. then a pop and i hear the snip snip snip and i knew he was coming out.
my labor and delivery were not bad. the afterbirth part was a NIGHTMARE. baby boy scratched me internally on the way out and i was bleeding out. so they go to delivery the placenta (another great part women don't like to tell you about)....This makes me bleed like crazy and they couldn't stop the bleeding. DH said it was like a horror movie. They wouldn't even move the baby to the nursery yet, since i was in crisis, he just stayed in there with DH holding him. I was dying in pain. the doc was screaming for help- no one was coming. i was starting to freak at that point. finally someone comes and they find the bleed and stop it. I had never felt so much pain in my life. not even the delivery. I was nauseous and lost so much blood. They were giving me all sorts of shots. I barely even got to hold the baby- no happy family together type photos right after he was born. it was a mess and a disaster. My mom even got sick and had to leave the room. I barely remember people coming in to see me as they cleaned up the horror show. I was out of it and still in horrible pain. Luckily my MIL stayed and she gathered my things for me as they wheeled me to my post room. He was born at like 6:17pm and it wasn't until midnight that i finally felt somewhat decent again. it was terrible. i really hope my next (if we are lucky enough to get preggo again) is different! :rotfl:

Delivery of the placenta. With DD it felt like a big blob sliding out of me. I really wasn't that interested in that part because Emma had meconium in her fluid, so I just watched and waited to be sure she was okay. I barely remember that part.
With Ethan, I asked to look at it. It was cool and weird at the same time. I didn't feel it or my legs for hours. I had just pushed the happy button before it was time to deliver so I had absolutely no feeling for hours. Even in the post partum room the nurses were mad I was brought down because I couldn't walk yet. I couldn't even lift my legs. Now I know they want you to have some feeling so you "know how to push", but I'm telling you, numb is the way I want to be.
Anyone totally freaked out?!? hahaha

Well since we talked about this on the phone, not so freaked out. But you had better deliveries than mine. I ended up in high risk ICU for pre-eclampia (sp) and also was privey to the horror show of hemmoraging. Got knocked out cold from anti-emetics and pain meds and woke up alone, no baby, no husband and covered in mashed potatoes of all things. They must have put a dinner tray in front of me at some point. I thought we had lost the baby since he was 5 weeks early and nobody wanted to tell me. Well after my freakout fit and demanding me see my baby. All was well in the world. I dont wish to repeat that next time. I was in ICU for 2 days and in the regular floor for 5 more days. Oh no dont say that. I only made it to 35 weeks and that was uncomfortable enough. But he was huge at 35 weeks weighing 8lbs 8oz. I cant wait to meet Evan this week!!!! You have to post a pic as soon as you can.

Good Luck Jen! I will be sending stay away all other pregnant ladies so Jen can have a bed vibes your way!
With Hallie my epidural worked too good. I couldn't feel a thing. It was great. Now my son I might as well not even had an epidural. It did not work at all. I was induced with him because my blood pressure shot up. That started at 8:30 PM and he was born at 9:30 am the next morning. I thought I was going to slap my nurse. I told her he was coming and she did not believe me. She called the Dr anyway because I insisted and by the time he got there(his office was one floor above in the hospital) Tyson was half way out. It is weird because I know it hurt but I don't remember the pain.

Well, less than 24 hours to go (I hope). I thought I would be a bit sentimental today reflecting on how fast time has gone, yadda yadda yadda, but strangely enough I'm not. I am ready to get this going and the wondering if the hospital is going to call in the morning is driving me nuts.
My poor hubby has a terrible cold and asked me last night if he should wear a mask in the hospital. You know, I don't need this...... I've got enough on my mind without worrying about if the baby will catch his cold. So I guess he will wear a mask. That'll make for some nice pictures.....
So today I have a list of things to do but I don't know if I can get it all done. I need to go to the grocery store, but lately I've been a bit woozy. As long as I keep moving I'm fine, but if I stop and look at something I get very hot and feel like I'm going to pass out.
I also need to finish packing my bag. I plan to have it all loaded in the car tonight for the morning, so we won't forget anything.
Yesterday I finished cleaning the house. I didn't vaccuum, but DH can do that.
So, I guess I better get moving. I'll check in later.

Good luck with everything! That last 24 to wait is the longest I tell ya'! DS4 was an emergency c-section after being in labor almost three days...:scared1: DS1 was a planned c-section but spent a week in RNICU due to only 1/3 of 1 lung being inflated when he was born-those lungs work now though! :rolleyes1 the last night before going to the hospital was the worst...I kept telling DH to hurry up and drop DS4 off at day care that morning-maybe if we get there early they'll do it quicker. :rotfl: It actually worked too! I got in about an hour earlier than planned!
Good luck and best wishes to your family!! :grouphug:

Hi...
:sad1: :sad2:  :sad1:
Well the news is not good. No room at the hospital. It's packed to quote the doctor. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement, but I keep telling myself everything will happen as it should.
They asked me if I wanted to be rescheduled for tomorrow and I said no. Two reasons for that. 1 - It's September 11th and I don't want the little guy to have that for a birthday, and 2 - it's a different doctor. So, I have a dr appointment this Friday and am being rescheduled for next Wednesday (the actual due date). I just hope this guy isn't too big by then.

Don't even think it! Up here they would ship you off to another hospital - if you are lucky they even offer up an ambulance ride to get there. (I used to work with a girl who had her hubby drive her 30 minutes to the next hospital when she was turned away by her local one)
We have far too much pixiedust: on Jen here for that too happen!
Take care!
