At the moment we have booked the dlh standard room for the 4th to 8th jan,
we then got very excited as we thought to upgrade to castle club it would only cost us an extra £364, but when we phoned up they quoted us over £700 (no extra night free if you stay in castle club). What i was wondering is, is it really worth paying that much extra? I can't decide. :confused3

It depends on what you expect for the extra money, bearing in mind that in January the main hotel and park won't be that busy anyway, the rooms are not that different from Standard room and they won't be a massive need for the VIP fast pass in January. The lounge for breakfast and afternoon tea is a nice perk.
So ask if the perks are worth over £700 to you and would upgrading reduce the amount of money to spend on meals and souvenirs?
I have done Castle Club in the past and if you can comfortably afford the money with out it cutting your spending money then yes it may be worth it however I would not upgrade if it affect your spending money as that £700 could go towards some lovely meals. I did love castle club however I would not stay there if it meant I had to go without on other areas of the holiday.

I am in the exact same quandry. £700 is almost doubling what I've already paid for my trip, and think I'd rather keep the extra for a sneaky trip away at another time.
Although every day i do get tempted.
VIP fastpass wont be a huge bonus during the quiet season and £700 will buy a lot of hot chocolates and things that we'd get free from the CC lounge.
But I'm still tempted!!
What I might do though is ask about paying the supplement at check in and see if its any cheaper....? I figure if they have spare rooms they mght let me rather than leave them empty..

I would love to do CC, but sadly my stomach likes good food better so I'd spend my money on having a great time while I was there!! :goodvibes
Its a tempting prospect, but not for us at the moment.... :goodvibes

Personally I would use the money for other parts of the holiday, although I have never stayed CC I can't see how spending an extra £700 is worth it in January.

I know it's a lot of money, and we probably wouldn't need the fast passes as it's usually so quiet in january, plus we use a disabled access pass for DS. But it's just so tempting, even it's just for the coffee and cakes :) Maybe I'll keep fingers crossed for a free upgrade.:goodvibes
