OK, I'll start. This goes back to 2003. I was responsible for planning and making arrangements for a trip that would include a room for my family and 2 rooms for my SIL and her family. We were going late May into the first week of June. I used a TA and and we started out at a moderate for $109 per night then got a deal for Wilderness Lodge for $139 a night and then finally got a deal for $79 a night at POFQ.

About 5 weeks or so before our trip my TA called and said that they had decided to close POFQ for rehab. She told me that they could transfer me to another moderate for the same price or if I could be patient she'd try to get me upgraded. I chose the patient route and ended up at Yacht Club for 7 nights at $109 per...

You were so lucky on that rate. My best deal was the night paid for by my Dad's boss at the Yacht Club. :rotfl: His old office the owners used to book the staff and their family for one night in the Yacht Club and treat everyone to dinner at a restaurant for the xmas party.

I do feel pretty special right now because I got super cheap room and the deluxe food plan. I paid $698 for AKL for three nights with dxddp.

Back in 2001 when AKL was new I got $140 for a Savannah-facing room. A perfect location, to the left of the lobby on the third floor, with animals outside all the time.

That was still my all-time favorite Disney lodge/room.

Actually my best deal was 2004 and 2005, my BIL an OB/GYN liked the Yacht CLub so much he paid for all the rooms those years if we'd go with them.We gladly accepted. They like to go with us because I'm the tour guide.

we stayed at the Swan, $99.00/night. And because I am a SPG member, we were upgraded to a balcony room with an Epcot view!! The amazing thing is that the only reason we went is because I happened to find great airfare, which is rare out of Tulsa! Then, a month after booking the air, I found the great rate at the Swan. We had old PH passes, so no need to buy those, and we had a deluxe trip for a budget price!!:woohoo:

My wife and I were in Tallahassee and just decided to drive on down on a whim. We stopped at the Disney Welcome Center in Ocala and the CM on duty got us a room at AKL, with a view, for $150.00 a night. We stayed two nights and had a great time. It is a beautiful place.;)

We got a postcard in February and stayed at AKL Club Level last week for $225 a night. Not a great deal but a deal.

I got a code in 2004 and was able to get AKL (standard) for 109.00 per night. I jumped at the opportunity.

Disney had a deal in October 2003 -- stay four nights and get three free!! :cool1: It was an awesome deal and the first time we stayed at WL. I don't remember the cost but it was a-ok!! I don't think we will see a deal like that again!!:sad2:

Back in 2003, I got the Polynesian for 179/night and the Wilderness Lodge for 109/night. In 2004, I scored the Contemporary for 149/night, garden wing. I miss those rates.:guilty:

I've gotten 2 pretty good deals.

October 2001 we got a room at AsMo for $49 a night.

December 2002 we got Wilderness Lodge Concierge level for around $189??? I can't remember exactly but I remember it being a steal of a deal. Everyone was talking about it on the boards. That same room now goes for $385!!

I think WL had recently been pushing the Conc. level, that's why the deal. Is was perfect timing because my DH and I were on an adults only trip for a long weekend.

I had a 40% code. We stayed at CSR. When we checked in, they had applied the 40% off twice. The CM checked us in, looked at the rate, looked at me, looked at her manager, looked back at me. I was thinking she was going to report it when she said "What a magical day for you!", smiled and away with our keys we went.

For our first stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge several years ago I managed to get an AP rate of $109 per night. When we checked in I asked what it would cost to upgrade from our standard room to a pool or Savannah view room - and let the kids decide. Of course , they picked Savannah ! The CSR showed me an amount of about $600 on his calculator , and then said "let me hit one more key and I'll show you your new rate." With that , he zeroed out the calculator ! We ended up staying Deluxe Savannah on the 5th floor for $109/night. When I got home I checked rack rate online - would have been about $500/night  !

We were very happy campers !

Fall 2003, Disney had a great promotion for military members...we got a room rate of $179 for a lagoon view concierge room at the Poly. My sister and her family were joining us, and they REALLY wanted to stay at the WL...so we stayed there instead and got concierge level room for a llittle less than the ones at the Poly.
And with that, DH was able to get a FREE 4-day park hopper pass and he was able to buy 4 others for only $99 each! I REALLY wish Disney would run a military promotion again!

We did this deal too. 7 nights at WL for $2000 for a family of 3 with hoppers included. Just didn't include the food, but and awesome deal.

The next best resort deal I had was 40% off at Poly. I think it was $240 a night during regular season last fall. I haven't been able to get any deals like that since.

Ours were similar and also in 2003. We had 114/night for a courtyard view at WL in early Aug and 74/night at CSR and CRB in May 2002 as well as 2003. We currently have the 54/in Sept/Oct this year. We did receive an email offer for 109 for WL and 49 for values in the past but were not able to go when offered.

REALLY LONG TIME AGO (1992 :scared1: ). Yacht Club $129 a night, lagoon view, room with King Murphy Bed and sitting area with love seat and chairs, and a wet bar. Beautiful balcony view out to the water. Took the Tram to Epcot every day!

I am sitting here drooling over all of your great rates!

Don't forget that most of these great rates were about 5 or so years ago and some tied to AP/FL rates. The buy 4 get 3 free was not from what I recall but in the same year. This fall there are some good rates for AP/FL such as 54/night values, 99/mods and 159/night WL. All are for various dates this fall. I really think the 54/night value is great. With all the onsite benefits you can't beat it. We are paying about that to stay in Florence, SC for an overnight on the way down at a Days Inn!! Florence, although a nice town, doensn't come close to onsite, WDW!!

Between 2001 and 2003, we got the All Stars and Pop Century a couple of times for $49/night with a pin. But we got GF for $199/night in Dec, 2002 (no pin); and in June, 2004, WL for $129/nite (no pin).

I'd love to get those rates again!!!!

We have 54/night at ASMu this fall for 6 nights starting Sept 28 with our AP. If you decide to go twice in one year you could see the rate with an AP just to let you know. The moderates are around 99 as well.

In 2006, our family stayed at the AKL for 5 nights. We had booked a deluxe savannah view room. When checking in, they told us we had two adjoining rooms. I said no that I could never afford that and that we had booked the deluxe. They told me they ran out of those particular rooms so they gave us an adjoining room free. :cool1:

It's almost 6 years to the day, back in 2002. Going the week of Labor Day, I asked what the AP rate was for the garden view concierge level at the Polynesian using the 3-letter code from the Mickey Monitor. I had even spelled out the code using "C as in Charlie..." to the cast member. It sounded cheaper than I expected and asked her, "Are you sure that's the annual passholder rate?" She said it was, so I booked it.

Got the reservation confirmation in the mail with a different (yet similar) 3-letter code on it. Apparently when I called back to find out if there was a mistake, there was. The agent at CRO booked us the Airline Employee Rate, not the Annual Passholder Rate. The middle letter is the only difference in the two codes. Because of that, I would have been charged an additional $500-600 dollars, which my friends and I didn't want to do.

So I asked what the availability was in the Moderates. The cast member said that she wanted me to talk to a supervisor about what happened. As soon as I did, the supervisor said he would approve the rate I was quoted and make a note on my reservation to honor it.

So my friends and I stayed at the Polynesian, Garden View Concierge at $240/night. That was cheaper than if each of us paid for our own rooms at the Value resorts at rack rate. ;)

Keep in mind that i'm not sure if the travel agent messed up or if it was an error on Disney's part, but back in 1999 we got 5 nights in the Ft. Wilderness cabins for at total of $175.:wizard: I kept asking the agent to make sure we weren't pitching a tent and she gauranteed that we were not. Well, when we got to Disney the first thing they asked upon check was did you bring your own tent? This was a Sunday and we were horrified. They gave us a cabin and the next day the travel agent paid the balance of the bill close to $900 dollars she swears Disney made the error as was going fight with them. Have not seen a deal like that again and probably never will.

Well I went to a Disney TA conference and they gave us MK views in the tower at the Contemporary and the agency I worked for paid the conference fee. Of course Disney also has TA rates which I always took advantage of. Miss those rates, don't miss the job! :rotfl2:

6 years ago this weekend I got an awesome AP rate for a Garden Suite at the Boardwalk made even more special with receiving an engagement ring the first night.

Next was a year later, paid around $175 for a courtyard view at WL and got moved to a lagoon view at the Grand Floridian!

This goes back to 1993. My husband was blessed to get the best CM in the world when he called to price a couple of rooms for ourselves and his BIL and SIL. The rates were fair, but then she asked him if he would consider a special 'manager's special' that had just started. She literally had to talk him into listening to the details and describe it for him before he realized what a deal it was.... Fairway Villa's for $129/night for the time we were there. It was cheaper than the individual rooms we were looking at and if anyone remembers them, they were huge in comparison.

Never had quite as good a deal since, but it was lovely then!

Last week I paid $62 a night at POP thorugh a Disney VISA cardholder promotion. I thought that was pretty good, for a current vacation, no AP or FL resident or anything.

FWIW, I used a 15% discount at Cirque for Disney VISA cardholders, and I paid my hotel bill and 5 TS meals with reward dollars- that VISA really paid off on this trip!!

Best I have gotten is 40% off. We will be staying at POR in October at $99/night. I am happy with that....but I have dreams that when we check in they say ...." I'm sorry but we have overbooked and we will have to move you to the Poly for the same price".:woohoo: Well, a girl can dream can't I??;)

Not sure if it counts as a deal since it was an upgrade that I called in and accepted a couple months before going, but I got to stay at OKW 1BR for about $89/night with free dining last year. I looked on it as winning the lottery. :goodvibes Of course, now I'm spoiled, too. As for traditional "deals," I've never gotten a pin.

Thanksgiving of 2001 we actually won an all-expense paid trip for 6 (5 days/ 4 nights) 2 rooms (Magic Kingdom view) at the Grand Floridian, park hoppers, airfare, spending money, and a bunch of extras. Our name was chosen out of a box during the channel 6 ABC Thanksgiving day parade (Philadelphia area). Definitely by FAR one of the coolest things that has ever happened to us.

We ended up taking the trip in May of 2002 and extended our stay for four additional nights at the WL- we had gotten a postcard in the mail with a special offer if we took the DVC tour while we were there. I believe the rate was for $109/nt per room. Needless to say, it was one of our best vacations EVER.

Disney called us a day before we were to leave for our stay at All-Star Sports in 1995. They said they overbooked and were upgrading us to the Yacht Club for the same price as the value! I wish I would have booked more than 4 nights!!!

So far, our best deal will be in a few weeks when we go with the free DDP. With 5 of us staying at the POR and my one son being "adult" price, 5 day hopper passes and tickets to MNSSHP we are paying a little under $3000 for 8 nights. I think that's a great deal! I hope to do bounceback again once we are down there.:cool1:

I've been able to get a few really good deals. Couple were cast member discounts. (all these include tax)

Oct '99..... CBR $66/night and OKW $127/night.... cast member
June '00 ...... Beach Club $163/night.... also CM
Oct '01 ...... All Star Movies $55/night..... code

The last few years.... I've gotten good discounts, but nothing phenominal.

In 2005, we shared a 2br at OKW with another family. The boys slept on air mattresses in the living room. We had "free dining" (with appetizers and tips!). Rather than free dining, I prefer to think of it as about $150/night for the 2br.

Back when you could get a Magic Kingdom Club discount, we got PO-FQ for $85 per night and the Beach Club for $184 a night. We got the Swan with a teacher discount for $154 a night and loved the location (overlooking DHS) but really didn't like the atmosphere of the resort.

Back in 2003, my Mom,son and I were booked for POFQ for 6 nights. Same as the OP, they closed for refurb and they offered us the Poly for $150.00 more than we paid total for the entire 6 nights!! I figured that the difference between the POFQ and the Poly was actually over $150.00 PER NIGHT- I couldn't believe that deal (I guess I'll never see a deal like that again!)
