So let's see. Originally, I planned to take a trip during Free Dining, a week just by myself, once again, a solo trip. Buuuut my mom got the great idea that we needed a family trip. See, my brother Chris goes to college in Hawaii, and he told us that this may be his last summer at home in NJ. He wants to live out there full time. And my brother Stephen is going to be a senior in college this year, and then probably move out. So my mom decided that this was our last chance to do a trip all together as a family, and what better place to go than Disney World!

The boys hadn't been to WDW since our last family trip in 2001. Okay, that's a bit of a mistruth...Chris went once for one day just to MK when he was in Florida with a friend a few years ago. But to me, that doesn't count! Of course, my mom came with me last August. When I got my annual pass. Which expired this year on August 20. So guess how we picked our dates? Aug 13 - Aug 20? That's right! Use that AP up to the last day! We figured the latest we could go in August would be best, crowdwise. And my pass was covered. So it worked out perfectly :thumbsup2

Well, Chris decided that he wanted to work a couple extra days to make some extra money before going back to school, so he came down late August 14 instead of the morning of August 13 with the rest of us. I told him he would miss some stuff, but money sounded better to him. Oh well. It ended up being fine. We all had a blast and it couldn't have been better!

So, for the cast of characters:

Mom - her name is Anne. This was actually her birthday trip, as her bday is Aug 19. So we got her a birthday pin and she loved the attention! She likes Disney just fine, she really likes going with me since I never wait on lines. She's amazed by how I get us around the parks. At home, we don't always get along the best, but in Disney, everybody's happy!

Chris - the older of the 2 boys. He's 24. He's the one that goes to school in Hawaii. He started college a little late and he wants to stay in school as long as he possibly can. We're talking 8 year plan here. He loves it out there. Surfing, sunning, partying. What a tough life. He's not huge into Disney, but his GF loves Piglet, so he was on a Piglet mission the whole trip.

Stephen - the little baby of the family. He's 21. Yes, that's right, we're all of legal age! Made for lots of fun :rolleyes1 . He was very excited to take this trip, and he had fun remembering stuff and finding new stuff, since the last time he went, he was only 14. His GF loves Belle, so as Chris was on a Piglet mission, Stephen was on a Belle mission.

Me - Marcia, that's me, and I'm 27. I'm the Disney nut. I've been 5 times in the past year on my Annual Pass. I can't get enough. My favorite character is Bashful. If you've read anything by me before, you know that I like to run around the parks like crazy, and that I don't do lines. I'm way spoiled with my Disney trips, and I like it that way.

So there you have it. Here's a pic of the fam, from our dinner in San Angel (you'll hear about it later!)

I promise the rest of the installments will have many more pics! So please don't give up on me!

next up: Day 1, arrival and Tea at the Grand Floridian, maybe MK too!

Joining your trippie! I have to admit I'm super jealous of your brother... how awesome to go to school in Hawaii!

I am also eager to find out your secret to "never waiting in lines". We use FP, of course, but still seem to wait in lines.

Looking forward to reading more... :goodvibes

Day 1, Wed Aug 13, Part 1

This day started very early for the three of us (Mom, Stephen, me), as our car was picking us up to take us to Newark at 5:00am. Add to the fact that I didn't get home till 3:30am and my mom was out until 4:30am! See, my friends and I always go out on Tuesday nights...it's a tradition. Not so great planning on my part! And my mom claims she lost track of time. Aaaaanyway, so the car came at 5, and we were on our way!

We got to Newark in plenty of time for our 7am-ish flight. We were flying Jet Blue, so we could have watched TV the whole way down, but my mom and I passed out. I wonder why :rolleyes1 . I think Stephen may have actually been awake for most of the flight though, since he had gotten some rest the night before.

Our flight arrived at MCO at 10:30am, and I was thrilled to get to the DME counter and find no line! Sweet, I couldn't wait to be on our way! Oh yes, we did stop at the Starbucks to get me a latte, and my mom a cappuccino and a croissant I think. Stephen didn't want caffeine. The horror!

So we got into the Pop line, and we waited. And waited and waited some more. It seemed like it took a really long time. But I wasn't worried. Yes, we had a 2pm ADR at the Gardenview Lounge for Tea, but it was only about 11am when we got in line, so I figured we had plenty of time. Especially because I knew Pop was the first stop of DME, before AKL and CSR. Or so I thought!

We finally got called to our bus, which was a cruise line bus
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic002.jpg

Yay, we're on board and I'm camera happy!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic003.jpg

Stephen asked me "Do you always just take the same pictures over and over?" Why yes I do! Deal with it!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic004.jpg

Here's the DME bus that was parked next to ours
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic005.jpg

Aaaaand we were finally on our way! The driver confirmed that we would be stopping at Pop first. Just like I thought...that's how it was when I came down in April/May, so I figured it would be the same route :thumbsup2 .

We drove along, watched the video, kinda closed my eyes a few times. My mom definitely slept the whole bus ride. Before I knew it, we were passing under the welcome sign!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic010.jpg

And then things started to go wrong. We drove right by Victory Way, which I knew was the street you turn on to get to Pop. And we started following signs for Animal Kingdom. Not good! I was getting a bit agitated at this point, as our bus driver didn't seem to know what he was talking about. And he kept looking at his map on his lap and turning it all around. Ugh. Some people were asking him questions, too, and he didn't know the answers. Don't worry, since I was sitting in the front, I knew the answers and helped the people out. My favorite was when someone asked if the Animal Kingdom Villas were at the same place as the AK Lodge. The bus driver had no idea. I assured them it was the same stop. And they didn't believe me! Hrmph. You think I'm gonna steer you wrong, people? I know my stuff! Anyway, he ended up calling someone on his radio who gave the same answer I did. Whatever. I was just not thrilled with this guy.

When we stopped at the AKL, my mom noticed what was up, and she is very outspoken, so she kinda not so nicely asked the driver guy what the heck was going on, that Pop was supposed to be the first stop. He told her that no, AKL was the first stop. Even though he had said Pop was, and that's how it was last time. He assured us that Pop would be next. I was getting a bit worried that we wouldn't make our 2pm ADR at this point. When originally, it should have been a breeze.

So we were on our way again, this time, turning onto Victory Way, and we saw this beautiful sight...
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic013.jpg

Yay, we're here!!! We can calm down now...or can we?

Oh let me just tell you, we had bad luck on our side. We ended up getting a check in person who was new and slow, and barely spoke English. I'm sorry, but I need to be able to understand you! Let's just say I was less than pleased with the front desk for the entire trip. So it took incredibly long to check in, and of course, our rooms weren't ready. And I asked if anything was available in the 60's, as I like that area, and was told we could move there tomorrow. We decided we'd take what they gave us in the 70's, and not bother moving...or so we thought. Since our rooms weren't ready, they gave us the card to call after 3pm, and we went on our way to have luggage services hold our carry-ons.

Luggage services was wonderful, by the way. They took good care of us the entire trip. More on them later.

Finally, we made it to the Magic Kingdom bus stop at 1:15pm. Not surprisingly, I was still very nervous about making our ADR. I took some pics to try to calm myself down. Here's Stephen at the bus stop
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic014.jpg

And one of me with my brother
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic015.jpg

But our luck seemed to be changing, as a bus pulled up right away. Of course I had to snap one of this gorgeous sign
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic016.jpg

Once we got to the MK, we took the monorail over to the Grand Floridian, and arrived at the check in desk to the Gardenview Lounge at *exactly* 2pm. Phew! I could breathe after that!

The beautiful lobby
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic017.jpg

And the lounge
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic018.jpg

The tea was just what the doctor ordered, as I totally needed to de-stress at this point. It was lovely and relaxing...at least for me and my mom! Stephen wasn't thrilled to be there, but whatever! This one was for the girls!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic021.jpg

I had to try on the tea cozy hat, of course
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic028.jpg

Stephen, being all proper with his pinky sticking out! Ha, what a kidder!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic033.jpg

This was a wonderful experience, and I will definitely do it again. For a full review, you can check out my dining review, it's linked up in my signature.

After looking around the hotel a bit, we went upstairs to catch the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom!!! I was so excited to be back in the world!!! We arrived at 3:30, just as the parade was ending. Remember how Stephen was on a Belle mission? Yeah, her float happened to be passing. Marcia, hurry up and get your camera out!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic038.jpg

Walking up Main Street, we stopped for some pics, with my camera, and Photopass.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic040.jpg

Think I'm a bit thrilled to be back???
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic041.jpg

First stop...Tomorrowland to grab FastPasses for Space Mountain! I was the FastPass Volunteer, while I sent my mom and brother to Cosmic Ray's to get Stephen some food. Yeah, he didn't really warm to the idea of tea sandwiches, so he was a bit hungry. While I was getting the FP, the wait time for Space was only 20 minutes, so I figured we'd go hit that standby once Stephen was done eating. But by the time we made it back, the time said 30 minutes, and the line was way out the door. No thanks! Catch you later!

So we decided to head for some amusement at the Monster's Inc Laugh Floor. I forgot that my mom and I hadn't done this last year, so it wasn't only a first for Stephen, but for her too! I think it's a cute show, so I was looking forward to their responses. We waited about 1 show to get in, and I tried texting in a joke, but they didn't use it. Oh well! Maybe next time! Stephen got a bit skiddish when he noticed that they single out people in the crowd, as he hates that kinda thing, but not to worry, he wasn't picked. It was a funny show, they liked it, and I enjoyed it as usual.

We decided that our next stop had to be Town Hall to get my mom a birthday pin. We would have gotten it on the way in, but the parade got in the way. No worries. On our way, we stopped for some more pictures.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic045.jpg
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic047.jpg

Look at my brother's hair!!! Haha, I think it's awesome...he's not thrilled that we were taking pics when he was not looking his best. Oh well! Not my fault you look silly!

After a wonderful CM drew my mom's name and decorations on her Bday pin, we thought we'd check out Pirates, as it never seems to have a line. And of course, we were correct. Waited maybe 5 minutes, if that, and we Yo-Ho-ing our way through there before we knew it. It's so funny seeing Disney through my brother's eyes...he remembered the drop in Pirates being much bigger. He was like, "that's it?" Tee hee. Yes little one, that's it :goodvibes

Next, we figured we'd check out Haunted Mansion. On our way over, we stopped for this classic picture
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic049.jpg

I told them that if the line said 20 or less, we'd wait. Anything over that, we'd skip it. That's pretty much my limit. Remember, I'm spoiled. Wouldn't you know, it said 20! Perfect. We actually only waited 10 minutes, and all 3 of us squeezed into one Doombuggy. It was a tight fit, but we made it. My mom told me to sit in the middle so I'd have the hitchhiking ghost on me, as she remembered it always being in the middle. I didn't want to break her bubble and tell her that it actually moved across the buggy, so I just squeezed in. Gotta make her happy, it *is* her bday trip, y'know!

Hmm, okay, so now what? Oh, I know, let's go to Mickey's Philharmagic! That never has a line either, and Stephen's never seen it! Perfect! So we made our way to Fantasyland, walked past the 40-60 minute waits on all the rides, and walked right into the Philharmagic. Again, we waited about 1 show, and were in before we knew it. Love this show! And Stephen enjoyed it, so I was glad.

At this point, we were done. We were tired, and we were hungry. Good thing we had an ADR at Chef Mickey's for 7:35! It was about 6:30 at this point, but we figured we'd chance it going early, as we were hoping to make it back for Spectro at 9...since it was the only chance we had to see it before they shut it down.

I gave them the choice to either walk or take the monorail, and surprisingly, they chose to walk. You guys know (if you've ever read anything by me before!) that I will always choose to walk, so I was pleased. When we got to the lobby, we used the facilities, and then we called my brother Chris, who was still at home, to get some info and ask him to bring a couple things we forgot. We then went upstairs and checked into Chef Mickey's before 7...and were seated right away!

Next up: dinner @ Chef Mickey's, and will we make Spectro???

Day 1, Wed Aug 13, Part 2

So last I left you, we had just checked in at Chef Mickey's, and they seated us early before our ADR time, and I was thrilled because we really wanted to catch Spectro at 9!

The meal itself was fine, see Dining Report for more details. But we really come here for, you guessed it, the Characters, of course! My mom and I did Chef Mickey's on our first night last year, so now we're making it into a sort of tradition. First came Minnie

Of course, we twirled our napkins with Minnie and Goofy!

We were out of there by 8pm, and I was absolutely thrilled, as I knew we would definitely make Spectro! So we walked our way back to the MK, and pulled up our curb spot right in front of the train station at 8:25pm, right on the bend, so we had a perfect view of all the floats coming! Yay!

Since we had some time to kill, I spent some time catching up with my friend Kristi from home, as she had some stuff going on that she needed to talk about. Before I knew it, they were turning off the lights and Jimminy Cricket was telling us we only had a few more minutes to go! And then it started! The beauty that is SpectroMagic!

Here's a few of my favorites that I took

aaaand a closer-up of my fav, Bashful :lovestruc
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%201%20aug%2013%20MK/pic108.jpg

If you remember from earlier, we still had Space Mountain FP's burning holes in our pockets, but my mom was falling asleep and she wanted to go back and sleep. We still hadn't seen our rooms yet. Oh yeah, I had called Pop before dinner, when we called Chris, and finally were told that our rooms were ready. This is after calling at both 3pm and 5pm and being told they weren't ready yet. Anyway, so we didn't want to send my mom on the bus by herself, so we found some people to give the FP's to, and went on our merry way.

When we got to our rooms, there was a bit of a problem...one of the rooms was a King bed. Not so great for 2 boys. We had told them we needed 2 rooms with 2 beds each, and that they didn't need to connect. Instead, they gave us connecting rooms, one with a King. Good thing Chris wasn't arriving til the next night! But still, it was very annoying to have to move the next morning.

So I called the front desk and told them we'd need to be moved the next day, and they told us they already had us scheduled to move, even though we hadn't been informed of it until then. Ugh. This was almost too much for me to handle. I was exhausted, not really having slept, and I was on my last nerve. I almost blew up at my mom, but thankfully, she helped to calm me down, by reminding me where I was. That was all it took. I was in my happy place, and nothing could *really* get me down.

In better news, the luggage department was an absolute gem! I had placed a delivery with Garden Grocer, and while the front desk knew nothing of it, there was a message on the phone from the luggage dept informing us that they were keeping our perishables cold in a fridge and that we could pick them up whenever we wanted. We were going to rent a fridge that night and get them, but since we were moving in the morning anyway, we figured it wasn't worth it. So they told us it was no problem to hold our stuff, until whenever we were ready for it. Two thumbs up to luggage services :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

So I set my wakeup call for 5:45am, since I had to deal with moving, and we still wanted to make EMH Morning at the Magic Kingdom. Believe me when I tell you I was out as soon as my head hit that pillow!

Next up: more front desk fun, AM EMH MK

Day 2, Thurs Aug 14, Part 1

So I set the alarm for 5:45am, and when that phone rang, ugh I did *not* want to get up! I knew I had to go deal with the front desk...so that wasn't rushing me out of bed. I once again dealt with a not so helpful CM at the desk, who told me we would have to come back after 3pm to get our new room. I knew it wouldn't be ready, but they wouldn't even tell us what building it was in. I was not a happy camper. Next, I went over to luggage services to borrow a luggage cart to get all our stuff and put it into their storage. Once again, they were really helpful! They told me that we just needed to leave all our stuff under the window and it would be transported for us. Now, why didn't the front desk tell me this when I told them what my plan was? I really wish I knew. But okay, so at least we don't have to take our luggage down. Thank you luggage services! Again!

Okay, enough of the bad stuff...on to happier stories! So I had my mug with me, and I stopped at the food court to make my hot cocoa/coffee combo that I would live off of. Well, that and coffee from the pot we'd get the next day...more on that later. I went back to the room, showered and then woke up my mom and Stephen, so they could get ready. And we packed up and left everything under the window. Before we left the rooms for good, I did snap a few pics of Stephen's room, since it was a handicap room, and it had a fridge included.

And here was a pic of the area we were in
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic112.jpg

We were at the bus stop at 7:05, and arrived at the Magic Kingdom at 7:35am. Since it was EMH at 8am. Once we went through the turnstiles, the other two gave me their tickets, as I would be the FastPass Volunteer, of course. Really, do you think I could give away that responsibility to anyone else?? :rolleyes1

Aaaaaanyway, I got right up on the side, readying myself for the rush to Space Mountain. Here's what I saw in front of me
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic113.jpg

If I remember correctly, they didn't do the full opening show this morning, maybe it's an EMH thing? I'm not sure. But I'm used to getting to another rope drop at each land, but this time, no second rope drop! Kinda threw me for a loop, but whatever, not a problem. Got my FastPasses, and of course, got right on line. Oh! For some reason, the FP were not good until 10:05...which I found odd, since every other park's first FP at EMH were for 9 or 9:05. Thought that was weird and threw a bit of a wrench in my plans. But I dealt with it.

Stephen was very hungry. Because he's a growing boy. So I told them to stop off at the Main Street Bakery and to meet me in the line at Space. Well, by the time they got there, they said the line was too long on the outside, and that I should just ride without them. Okay, fine with me! I'm not gonna sit out just because they're not there...I'm a seasoned solo traveler :thumbsup2

On their stop to the Bakery, Stephen decided that one slice of French Toast Loaf wasn't enough. I had talked it up so much, that he just couldn't resist! But after finishing the first one, he realized that his eyes were bigger than his stomach. He said it was deceptively filling. Haha, silly boy! But he took the other one to go, and covered it in syrup. So I could take a picture of it. What a sweet boy! Oh, and my mom had a ham/cheese/egg croissant like she always does, but alas, no pic, as it was in her belly by the time she got to me! Here's the extra Loaf
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic114.jpg

So I met up with them and we decided we'd hit Buzz Lightyear's Spaceranger Spin. On the way, Stephen dumped the extra French Toast Loaf in the garbage. Sacrilege...I know. But no one was going to eat it. If he hadn't poured syrup all over it, I may have considered it, but I hate eating so early!

Here are our awesome red-neck shots from the ride. Which of course I won, because as Stephen says, I know all the tricks! He started following my direction once he realized I was kicking butt!

Me
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic115.jpg

Mom and Stephen
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic116.jpg

Not too shabby. I'm totally the queen of the red-neck shots. But if you've ever read anything by me before, you already knew that! I'm cheap, what can I say. Although, I still do regret not buying that one picture when I was on ToT all by myself...but I digress...

Next up, we headed toward Fantasyland to try to hit at least one ride before the lines hit. On the way, we saw Alice and the Madhatter, but no way were we wasting valuable ride time on characters, so I just snapped one as we walked by
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic117.jpg

We made our way over to Peter Pan, and it said 10 minutes, but it was actually a bit less. Fine with me! Fits under my 20 minute rule perfectly. And we all fit in one ship. Awesome. Not as tight a fit as the Haunted Mansion, thank goodness. They still put me in the middle. But I don't mind, I get to be surrounded by people who love me. Haha, yeah, no, I'm not really that mushy, it's more of a joke. Anyway...

Once we got off Peter Pan, it was 8:58, so we got behind the mass of people waiting to get into Frontierland. Once they dropped the rope, we made our way with the big crowd to the other two mountains. Now normally, it would be time for another FP, but the MK was weird with that, so we made the executive decision to ride Big Thunder and decide later if we wanted to ride Splash. We just didn't feel like getting wet that early. We walked right onto BTMRR, and waited one train for the back. Like we always do. I let the other two sit together, as I'm used to being alone. Wanna see a picture of their backs? You're gonna anyway!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic118.jpg

Once we got off, we decided we'd just check out Splash, but seeing a 40 minute wait on the sign, forget about it! Not gonna happen. So the next stop we made was the Jungle Cruise. It was still a walk on, so that worked out well. Here's our skipper, he was funny, so I was pleased
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic119.jpg

After the Jungle Cruise, and all of my favorite jokes, Stephen discovered his soon-to-be obsession...pressed pennies! It was sort of nostalgic for him, as the two boys used to get them all the time when they were younger. So this was a pretty cool one, where you actually crank it yourself. Look how excited he is! Either that, or he likes to ham it up for me!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic120.jpg

And crank that thing!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic123.jpg

Once he was pleased with his new creation, we went right over to Pirates. Using the right side line...of course as all good DISers do! And we walked right on. Yay! I had to snap a picture of my man, Johnny, er, I mean Captain Jack!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic124.jpg

By now, our FP window was up, so since we were over there, we went to get FP for Splash. Then we decided it was a good time to stop for breakfast, so it was my turn to get French Toast Loaf from the Bakery. We got there at 10:15, and of course, had to wait on a line, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I've definitely waited on worse. And I was so nervous that they would run out of my Loaf before I got to the front...but they didn't! Woo Hoo! Luck is turning our way! I got a soymilk too, as usual. And my mom got strawberries for her and Stephen to share. Mmmm, I love French Toast Loaf. So much. It did not disappoint.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic126.jpg

After the family's second trip to the Bakery in a few hours, we were ready to use our FastPasses for Space Mountain. My second trip, Mom and Stephen's first. On our way over, it started to drizzle...we didn't whip out the ponchos, we just hurried up a bit. We let Stephen sit in the front, as that's the best way to experience it, and he hadn't been on in 7 years! We all loved it.

After our ride through Space, the rain was really coming down. Pouring, as it were. We had a decision to make...should we use our FP's for Splash? Ya know what? I pulled out our trusty ponchos, we put them on and decided we may as well go on the water ride in the rain with our ponchos! Get ready, here comes the red neck shot
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic128.jpg

We're in the back. And how funny, even if we didn't have the ponchos on, we barely got splashed! Murphy's Law, I tell you. By now we were done. We were ready to head back to Pop to take a nice break...but would our new room be ready??

As we walked up to the bus stop, we watched our bus drive away. It was 11:50am. The next bus didn't come until 12:25! Yikes, a bit longer than the proclaimed 20 minutes, so I was a bit irritated. I know, I know, deal with it Marcia! But remember, I'm spoiled

Well, we got to Pop, and went straight to the dreaded front desk. Once again, they left much to be desired. At least this time, the lady spoke English well, but of course, our room was not ready. This really bugged me, since we really wanted to take a break, and it was raining...so we were kind of stuck. Plus, they wouldn't even give us our new keys, they told us we'd have to come back to the desk later, to get both our room location and our keys. But they did tell us we'd be in the 60's, so at least that was a positive.

So. When it's raining. And you need a break. And your name is Marcia. Where do you think you might go? I mean, come on, we were scheduled to be spending the evening at MGM anyway...so yes, Tune In Lounge, here we come! Really wasn't a hard decision to make.

continued in next post: drinks and appys at Tune In Lounge :lovestruc

Day 2, Thurs Aug 14, Part 2

Tune In Lounge!!!!!

...So we got in the MGM bus line, and it pulled right up. Sweet! Got to MGM at 1:20pm, and I was the FP volunteer. We decided we'd FP ToT, since we could always do Rock'n'Roller Coaster singles line. So I told the two of them to head toward the 50's Prime Time Cafe, but to go to the bar. The Tune In Lounge. And to sit by David. He's my bartender. He's the one who got me to go with another CM back in May to the CM preview of Toy Story Mania. He's awesome.

So I got the FP and made my way to the Lounge. I spotted them right away, and my mom had a bone to pick with me! I had forgotten that there are *two* bartenders named David! Just by luck, she had actually picked the right one. Buuuuut, the other one is from the same town that my mom grew up in, Lodi, NJ, so we really spent time with both of them.

My mom and I both ordered Grandma's Picnic Punch, and both came with blue star glow cubes. Ooh, they're getting all fancy on us, making them stars now!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic129.jpg

Stephen wanted to do a shot, but I wanted him to have a real drink, as a shot is so quick and done. So he compromised. He got a Gentleman's Jack Daniels, on the rocks.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic131.jpg

While we were hanging out, we met this wonderful couple from Canada, named Bill and Kathy. Seriously, they were awesome. We sat there talking to them for a few hours. We exchanged info. Bill noticed my mom's Bday pin and insisted on buying her a light up Tinkerbell, which she proudly wore for much of the rest of the trip. Here it is on her drink
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic134.jpg

We got to be such good friends, that when our FP window was up, and I was headed to grab us a set for RnR, I asked if they wanted some too, and yup, they handed their tickets right over! (I even wrote down what time it was...2:30pm at this point!) No trust issues here people! Ok, so David totally vouched for them and for me, as they are regulars as well. So no worries! Speaking of the wonderful David...
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic137.jpg

Aaaand one of us with Bill and Kathy
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic138.jpg

Let's not forget David from Lodi, NJ
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic140.jpg

I think at some point, my mom and Stephen also ordered appetizers, I know Stephen had the crab cake, not sure about my mom. Because, well, I missed taking pictures of those. Sorry, I have none of this food. I was more concerned about drinks :thumbsup2 . They only wanted a little something anyway, since we had 3:40pm ADRs at Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic Dining Package.

So sometime around 3:25 we decided it was time to start making our way toward the back of the park to get to our ADR. But not before David came out from behind the bar to give me a hug, and we got a pic too
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic141.jpg

And the lovely ladies, Kathy and Anne (mom to me!)
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic142.jpg

So our little snafu with the rooms ended up being a blessing in disguise! We never would have gotten to spend such quality time at our (yes, now our, and not just my!) favorite bar, with such wonderful people. Oh but don't you worry, this won't be our last visit to the Tune In Lounge this trip...not even close! But for now, I will leave you with that.

next up: FDP @MM, some rides and such, and Fantasmic!

Oops, looks like I fell a little behind on your TR. I have been spending all of my computer time obsessively checking weather reports for my upcoming trip, so I haven't had too much time to Dis.

I'm all caught up now, though. Great updates! Your Chef Mickey photos were so cute. We have a ressie there and I was worried that the food wouldn't be great. I'm happy to know that even if it's not so good, at least we'll walk away with great pics. :thumbsup2

I was really excited to see your pics at Tune-In lounge. We have a dinner ressie at 50's Prime Time Cafe, and those fun cocktails were half the reason I booked it. (That, and I know my DH will love the food.) I am thinking that we may have to spend some time in the Lounge prior to dinner, though. It looks like a fun place!

You should definitely get some kind of compensation for all the promotion of the Tune-In Lounge and PTC you do! :rotfl: Both are being added to my list for the next trip, I can't imagine why I've never been in before!

haha, next time i'll tell david that i deserve free drinks! ;) hehe, jk of course! have a great time!

Just found your TR. Looks like you guys had a great time! Thanks for sharing. Can't wait for the next installment.

welcome! hope you enjoy!

Marcia I love your TRs! You are so descriptive, I feel like I'm there with you. DH and I are going in Oct w/o the kids. We weren't planning a day at DHS but I just may drag him over there to check out the Tune In Lounge - as long as there is alcohol involved it shouldn't be too hard to convince him!

One ? What are the glow balls and do they come in all drinks or do you have to ask for them?

aw, thank you so so much! really, just show him the pics of the bar, and he should be on board! if not, let me know and i'll convince him! the glow cubes come automatically with certain drinks, like the glowtini, and a bunch of the ones at tune in/ptc. otherwise, i think you can ask to buy them separate.

Hi Marsh great report as always now I have to find your food review!!

hey rosie!!! so glad to see you! :cool1:

It looks like a fun place!

i totally understand about the obsessive weather checking! it's that time of the year! i hope you have great weather! i'll keep my fingers crossed for you. and yes, you should have a great time at chef mickey's, even if the food isn't the greatest. definitely spend some time at the lounge! and have one for me!

ok, people, next update is coming soon!

Day 2, Thurs Aug 14, Part 3

So we sadly left the Tune In Lounge and David, but we had to get to our ADR at Mama Melrose. Gotta get that Fantasmic! pass. So yeah, we had our ADR set for 3:40, and arrived right around then. We were pretty much seated right away. I've been here before, and I like this place. It's no where near up there with Tutto Italia, but it's fine for what it is. Plus, we don't have to line up for Fantasmic! I'll take it :thumbsup2 We all enjoyed our food, and when we were done, we still had plenty of time to do other things before the show.

So since we were passing that way, we checked out Star Tours. Since it had a posted 20 minute wait, we just grabbed FP instead. That one is *not* worth a 20 minute wait for me. No thanks! We only got 2 FP though, since my mom doesn't really like being thrown around so much. She said last year was plenty for her. Okay then!

Stephen actually had a request...since we arrived, he had been talking about the Great Movie Ride. Well, actually, he referred to it as the ride where the guy takes over the car. Haha, awesome. He's too cute. So I told him it was the GMR, and he couldn't wait! So after we had secured our FP for Star Tours, we made our way to the GMR. No line! Yay! We got the cowboy. Stephen didn't even remember that there were two possibilities (the other being the gangster), and when I reminded him, he was like, "Really?". I'm surprised he didn't make us go on it again in hopes of getting the alternate! But he loved it, and it was a nice air conditioned ride, as usual.

Since we were in the area, we decided to go check out Toy Story Mania, just for the single rider line though. No way we would wait on the regular line! Uh uh no way! But when we got there, they told us the Single Rider Line was closed. Oh well, we knew we had an opening morning here coming up, so we'd get to ride it then.

At this point, we decided to head toward the other two biggies. We stopped along the way for some Photopass pics, including the "oh my goodness, Stitch is coming out of the ground!" one. Ha. Well, Stephen had never done that one before, so it was fun. Since our Tower of Terror FP were way overdue, we decided we may as well use them. Stephen wanted to do something he had read about...hold coins in his hand and see if they ended up back in his hand at the end of the ride. You can see him watching them in the picture
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic156.jpg

So of course you're wondering...did he end up with the coins? I think he said he lost a few and ended up with a few. He enjoyed himself. I was amused as well.

I'm going to assume it wasn't time for our Rock'n'Roller Coaster FastPasses yet, because we went on the ride single rider. Yes, now I remember! We went to go in the FP line, and the guy was like, it's not time yet. Duh! Marcia, read the time. I felt like such a moron! I had just assumed they would be up. Oh well! So yeah, we did single rider, and all actually made it on the same car...just not together of course! We got "Dude Looks Like a Lady" on this trip. Here are our pics. For some reason, the screen my mom was supposed to be on didn't show up.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic157.jpg

After that, it was time for me and Stephen to use our Star Tours FP. Kinda funny, since they closed the FP line, since the regular line was nonexistant. Oh well! Better safe than sorry! I just love this ride. It's so classic. So we had a great time while my mom hung out in the shop.

Finally, it was time for our FP for RnR. But on the way back over there, we noticed that the Beauty and the Beast Show was starting at 7pm. I took a shot in the dark, and said I'd really like to see it. To my surprise, Stephen was totally open to the idea! I thought he's scoff at a show...but then I remembered....Belle mission, of course! He made sure I took lots of pics of her during the show. Here's a few
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic162.jpg

After the show, we went to use our FP for RnR. But Stephen decided that the one trip before had been enough for him, so just me and my mom went. This time, we got "Sweet Emotion". Fun fun! And we got our picture together this time! Yay!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic191.jpg

My mom and I just love this ride! It's definitely her favorite out of all of WDW. So the fact that it has the single rider line suites us so well. Even though we did use FP this time. But whatever. We love it either way!

By that time, we decided to head over and do some shopping before staking out our seats at Fantasmic! We went in around 8:30 for the 9:00 show. Not the best seats, but close to the exit, which is fine by me! I love this show. As many times as I see it, I still want to see it again. I didn't get the best pictures, but here are a few
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%202%20aug%2014%20MK%20MGM/pic195.jpg

My last note of the night says we were sitting on the bus at 9:35, and we were the first ones on! We really busted it out of the theater, because I had no desire to wait on a bus line. And it worked out perfectly!

So for reviews of the show...I loved it, as usual. My mom likes it just fine. Stephen was disappointed. I had talked it up so much, that I guess it couldn't live up to his expectations. He said there was just too much stuff on the water screens, and it wasn't very exciting. Oh well! To each his own!

When we got back to the hotel, we had to go to the front desk to get our new room keys and our new room location. I was finally pleased...first floor, building 5. Rooms 5125 and 5126. Me and my mom were in 5126...directly under where I stayed when I was there in May! Perfect location! They weren't connected, but that was fine with us. So we left Chris's key at the front desk, as he wouldn't get in until very late. And we rented a fridge, since the one I ordered still hadn't arrived (and wouldn't arrive our whole trip, btw...not a fan of Walmart!).

We got to bed and fell asleep as soon as we hit the pillows...readying ourselves for our early morning at MGM the next day! I set the wake up call for 6am, and dreamed the night away!

next up: EMH MGM, lunch at 50's PTC

Fun update. You know, I rode on RNR twice, but I didn't realize they played different songs. We either got the same song both times, or all Aerosmith songs sound alike to me. I'm guessing the latter!

hehe, yup, they play "dude looks like a lady", "sweet emotion", "love in an elevator", that's all i can remember. i think i've read somewhere that you can tell what song you're gonna get based on the license plate of your limo...but i never paid that much attention!

yeah, we definitely felt lucky that the bad weather hadn't hit yet! I love fantasmic! so much. too bad stephen didn't. oh well. and definitely get her a Tink. it's probably like $4, and it's so cute!

Great update! I've actually never seen Fantasmic so I may have to try to fit that in on an upcoming trip. With the dinner package you don't have to wait in line?

well, with the dinner package, you pretty much don't have to get there *as* early. we went in kinda late, so we were more off to the side than i normally like. but our other option was too close to the water, and i had no desire to get wet! so yeah, i feel like the package is worth it. but your mileage may vary!

Day 3, Fri Aug 15, Part 1

Oh now this was a morning I was very much looking forward to! Out of the family, only I had been on Toy Story Mania, and I was so excited for the rest of them to try it out! Well, apparently, the night before, Chris had had delays, so he didn't get to the room until around 3am or so. So when I went to go wake the boys up, they told me they wanted more sleep and they would meet us before lunch. This threw a wrench in my TSM plan (get FP and ride together right away), so it kinda bummed me out. I told them they wouldn't get to ride, because by the time they got there, the line would be huge. We'll see how that worked out...

So anyway, my mom and I were at the MGM bus stop at 7am, and were on our way over shortly after that. Since it was so early, we were the first ones at the turnstiles. Check it out!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic222.jpg

We spent some time chatting up the people around us, so time went a bit quicker, and before we knew it, we were let through the turnstiles and up to the rope. First at the rope too! Sweeeet! Once again, check it out!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic223.jpg

At that point, there was a Photopass Photographer named Rusty, and we spent some time talking to him. He offered to take some pics of us, both Photopass and with my camera. Look at the crowd behind us!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic224.jpg

We were also talking to a family that was near us, they were parents with teenage kids. Good thing we made friends, because when it came to stampede to TSM, I somehow managed to drop my tickets and stuff on the ground! Thank goodness the mom was right behind me, and picked them up and neither of us missed a beat! Phew! That was lucky!

So I was the first one at my FastPass machine, got my pair, and went straight to the line where my mom...wasn't waiting for me. She had actually gone through the line, and they wouldn't let me go meet up with her (I'm sure many of you will be happy to hear that...and don't worry, I totally understand!). So in a few minutes, I had caught up with her on the regular line, and we were off spinning and shooting! I tried to take a pic of our scores, but I wasn't quick enough. I did manage to get the screen with the ride logo on it though
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic226.jpg

After our ride, we went back toward the hat, to see if we could find Rusty again. And we did! So he got some photopass pics of us, and took a couple with my camera too. What a nice guy!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic229.jpg
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic230.jpg

We went to head over to ride our fav, the Rock'n'Roller Coaster, of course. But alas, the single rider line was not yet open, and standby was more than we'd ever consider. So we hung out in the RnR store for a bit, and by now it was 8:40am. We wanted to get another set of FP, but obviously, it wasn't time yet. So, we walked around a bit, went through some shops, and basically killed time until about 9ish. At which point, I grabbed a pair of FP for Tower of Terror. Sweet!

Now, I had heard rumors that the Dream Team liked to hang around in One Man's Dream, so we headed in that direction, and went in right after it opened. I really like this exhibit. I took a picture of Dumbo
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic232.jpg

We hung around for a bit, but decided it wasn't worth it to spend too much time there. So when we had seen everything we wanted to, we left. By this time we figured we'd check out the RnR single rider line again, as they had told us it would open around the time they started taking return FastPasses. So we went on over, and yup, it was up and running! Wahoo! The song we got was a Love in an Elevator/Walk this Way combo. Red neck shots...first me, then mom!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic234.jpg
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic238.jpg

By now, it was just before 9:30am, and to my surprise, I received a call from Stephen that they had just walked into the park! I really didn't expect them until at least 11, so it was a nice surprise. At this point, I made the executive decision...that the boys needed to ride Toy Story Mania...with mine and my mom's FastPasses! That's right. You read that correctly. We *gave* the boys our second ride. Now, this was a bit of a sacrifice for me, as I had already warned them that if they didn't come with us, they wouldn't get to ride it at all. But well, I decided to be a nice sister. Because I really wanted them to be able to experience it.

So me and mom just kinda hung around the area while the boys rode. We probably visited the ladies' room, and I know how exciting that is! You want to read all about it! Just kidding, of course! They were out pretty quick, as the FP line really hadn't had a chance to build yet. And of course, they were hungry. Cause they're boys. And they need to eat 24/7 it seems! So I sent them over to Starring Rolls to pick up some breakfasty stuff, while I went ahead with all of our tickets to get FP for RnR. That line (the bakery!) took forever! Longer than it took me to get the FP, that's for sure.

Once we met up, me and Chris decided to use the pair of FP we had gotten for ToT. My mom was fine with not riding again, as was Stephen. They said they weren't such huge fans, and once a trip was enough. Well, not for me! Or Chris, as it were. We got front row, check us out!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic240.jpg

The boys decided that they wanted to see the Indy show, while mom and I didn't feel like it. I've seen it so many times, and I did see it on my last trip, so I was absolutely fine with not seeing it again. We had a bit of a time conflict though, as the show started at 11am and went to 11:30ish, and our ADR for 50's PTC was at 11:25am. Good thing that Indy show is pretty much right next door to the restaurant! So we just told the boys to meet us there as soon as they got out. Wasn't a problem whatsoever.

But while the boys saw Indy, me and mom had some time to kill, once again. We decided to head over to the Animation building, just to check it out, since I don't remember ever going in there. We were going to do the drawing show thing, but the timing didn't work. So we checked out Sorcerer Mickey's line, but that was too long, so we just walked around. I found WALL-E. Never saw the movie, I still need to do that.

Then we went to head over to the 50's, and on the way, the High School Musical Show was going on. Now, I've never seen these movies, I know nothing about them. I just know little kids go ga-ga over them. So since we had a few minutes to spare, we watched a bit. Twas cute enough.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic246.jpg

Mom and I got to the 50's a few minutes before 11:25, and checked in, and told them the boys weren't there yet. It really wasn't busy, since it was so early, so they just told us to tell them when the boys arrived. Which we did. We knew David was off this day, so we didn't bother heading to the bar ;) .

We were seated shortly after 11:30, and Brenda was our server. I knew to set the table, and she was impressed. Yeah, I've been here a few times :rolleyes1 . Here we are!

Food and drinks ensued, we all enjoyed it, as usual. See dining review for more details! At the end of the meal, the boys wanted to do shots...so they went to the bar and I ran after them with the camera

While we were gone, Brenda had brought over a cupcake for my mom, and since we were missing in action, she waited til we got back to do the celebration...which meant the whole restaurant sang Happy Bday to my mom! It was so funny!

Once we were done with lunch, our RnR FP weren't up yet, so we all decided to go on single rider. As you know, I love that single rider line! Good times! These red neck shots didn't come out all that well, so I won't bother to post them. Suffice to say, we all made funny faces as usual :thumbsup2

After riding, we were ready to head back to Pop for a rest. We were at the bus stop at 1:25, and my head hit the pillow before 2pm. I, of course, took a nap, while the boys and my mom spent some time in the pool. While I was sleeping, the boys had decided to take a cab to the liquor store to pick up some booze...they were being economical. And at the end of the trip, they figured out that they had easily made up their money. Ha, and we had 2 half bottles of liquor left to leave with our next fridge swapper. I found out they had gone from my mom when I woke up. They were even back before my mom and I headed over to Epcot later that afternoon. So they were pleased with themselves.

next up: late afternoon/evening in Epcot

Fun! I wish I had been able to ride TSM, but we only had a little bit of time at DHS, and we decided RnR and the TOT were our must dos. I guess that means I need to go back!

What a kind sister giving up your fastpass so your brothers could ride. Don't know if I would do the same. :rotfl: ;)

Great update! Sounds like a great time and your brothers were smart to get liquor off site!
What a fantastic time so far, looking forward to more!!

That was really nice of you to give up your FP's. I have a hard time getting pics of Fantasmic also. I was so excited I got a decent picture of Mickey my last trip. Oh, and my DH didn't enjoy that much and I think for the same reason as your brother. He had missed it the first time we went, so for two years I talked about how I wanted him to see it. Maybe men just don't like images on water.:scratchin

I loved your empty MGM-park pictures! :goodvibes Very cool. And now I know to get a picture with Wall-E this year, he's too adorable for words. (And a great photo op! :lmao: ) Can't wait for more.

I loved seeing your "redneck" ToT photos. :thumbsup2 I love  ToT! Definitely my fave attraction at WDW! I also enjoyed seeing your rope drop pics... Hollywood Studios is the one park I've never been to at rope drop so it was cool to see what it looks like empty.

You were so sweet giving your brothers your TSM fp's. I don't know that I could have been so generous! :rotfl:

Day 3, Fri Aug 15, Part 2

So after a refreshing nap for me, and a rest by the pool for my mom, we got ourselves ready to head to Epcot for the evening. The boys wanted to hang out more at the pool with their alcohol, so they told us they'd meet us for dinner. Fine by me.

We were at the bus stop at 4:35pm, and a bus pulled up right away! Perfect timing! I snapped a pic as we approached the Epcot gates. Okay, so it's far away. Sorry bout that!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic279.jpg

We were putting our tickets through the machines by 4:55pm. Sweet! My mom hadn't gotten herself a crepe and champagne yet, so of course, our first stop was to France. I wasn't complaining...I needed a slushie anyway :thumbsup2 . We didn't have dinner til 7:15pm, so my mom wasn't worried about ruining her appetite. I did help her out by having a few bites. Yum-O!

I had picked up a times guide on the way in, and saw that the British Invasion was playing at 6pm, so we headed over to Japan to check out the drummers for a while, since it wasn't yet 5:30. Love those drummers! They are amazing. Here's some pics I took on the way

After that, we slowly made our way to United Kingdom to check out the fake Beatles, as I like to call them. Hehe. We ran into Belle and the Beast on the way, although, no way were we gonna wait on the line. But I had to get a couple pics of Belle for Stephen.

Then we went over to grab some seats for the show. My mom was lucky enough to nab a seat on a bench, and I had no problem pulling up the curb.

And then it was time for the show! They played Hard Days Night, I Need You, If I Fell, Help!, 8 Days a Week, Just to Dance w/You, and Ticket to Ride. Good show! Love these guys!

I was bummed that Off Kilter wasn't playing today, but I figured I'd catch them on a different day. Or would we?

Anyway, we then spent some time wandering around the UK and Canada pavilions and shops. I've never done the phonebooth pic, so I just had to!

While we were wandering around, I got a call from the boys, who were making their way toward the World Showcase. We met up with them shortly after, and headed over to Italy for dinner at Tutto Italia. On the way, we passed Morocco, and Mo-Rockin was playing...and the boys wanted a pic of the belly dancer. Boys :rolleyes1

Right, my brothers like to do things they're not supposed to, so Stephen scaled a wall in Italy. He got yelled at to come down, like I told him he would. But why would he listen to me?

Dinner was excellent! Very highly recommended. You can read about it in my dining review if you'd like. Here's Chris with our waitress, Antonella, who he thought was hot!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic336.jpg

I had called Morgan's parents (that's my best friend...her parents live in Celebration...if you haven't read stuff by me before, then you don't know, but now you do!). Anyway, I wanted to see if they wanted to meet us for a drink and Illuminations, but they ended up being out of town. Oh well! Next time! So we decided we would skip Illuminations, as mom was tired, the boys wanted to head to Magic Kingdom EMH, and I wanted to go to the Tambu Lounge before heading to MK EMH. Haha, yeah, we all went in different directions! I took some pics on the way out.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic352.jpg

We all walked out of the park together, and we sent mom to the Pop bus. The three of us kids went to the monorail over to the TTC. Chris likes to do weird things too...yes this pics is right side up...

I left the boys at the TTC, where they caught the express monorail to the MK, while I took the short walk over to the Poly, since I wanted to hit the Tambu Lounge, and not get to the MK til EMH actually started.

next up: Tambu Lounge, and EMH @MK

Day 3, Fri Aug 15, Part 3

So yup, the boys headed over to the MK. I told them they probably wouldn't get much done, as it would be pretty busy. But they wanted to go anyway. I told them not to worry...that we'd be able to grab FP as soon as EMH started. But an uninformed CM told them this was not true. Grr, since I wasn't there, I just took their word, figuring they had changed something since my last trip...more on that later!

Anyway, so I went to the Poly, and ordered a drink. To my surprise, the pink lemonade drink I had gotten at Chef Mickey's was on the standardized drink menu, so I ordered that. Mmm, mmm good!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic356.jpg

And here's a pic of it on the menu
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic357.jpg

I spent some time hanging out, watching the Olympics on the big TV they have in there. It was nice to just sit and relax. At some point, I decided that I wanted to watch Wishes from the beach, so I got my drink to go and headed down there. Really glad I did, too, since it was the only chance I got all week to see it. Gorgeous, as usual.

After the show was over, I made my way to the monorail and over to the MK to meet the boys. They had already ridden Jungle Cruise, and something else maybe? I don't know, but they were about to go on Big Thunder, so I met them there. They told me that when they rode Jungle Cruise, Chris mixed himself a rum and coke...and quite amused the skipper. Oh boy, these 2 just cannot be left alone! I do *not* condone this behavior, although, I did think it was a bit funny...

Anyway, so here they are in front of me, in the back of the train of course. They like to make faces...
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic387.jpg

Next up, we went on Pirates, since it had no line, and we were over that way anyway. Here's a pic from the queue.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic390.jpg

And the boys on the ride...I think Stephen was trying to get out of the picture, but he didn't do a very good job!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic391.jpg

We hung out a few minutes in the store after the ride, and the boys were really doing a sword fight...I told them to stop for a minute so I could get a picture!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic392.jpg

And then they put on hats and grabbed guns
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic393.jpg

Oh man. They are sometimes a bit much! But I love them, all the same.

We decided that since there was no line, we would go on the Jungle Cruise, even though they had already done it. They were hoping to get the same skipper that had joked with them not too much earlier, but she was now working on the dock. She warned our skipper to watch out for them though! Haha, we had a blast! Love this one!

Now, I had never been on Aladdin's Magic Carpets, and there was no line, so me and Chris decided to go on. For some reason, Stephen wasn't interested, so we gave him the camera and we were on our way
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic394.jpg

Once we got off, Stephen tried to be all artistic and took this picture of a flower. Quite pretty.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic399.jpg

At this point, I decided it was time for us to get a Dole Whip Float...and to borrow some of the rum the boys had brought. We asked them not to overfill it with ice cream (we did the vanilla soft serve), just so you know, you normally get much more than this. Oh, and sorry it's so washed out!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic400.jpg

This was a nice treat that we shared as we walked over to Tomorrowland to check out the wait for Space Mountain. Well...wouldn't you know it? The FastPass machines were up and running! I was *not* pleased! I would have so been over there earlier grabbing FP if that CM hadn't told my brothers they wouldn't be open! Grrr! Well, I tried to go with the flow, and just picked us up some FP, which had a return time of 1:15-2:00am. Not sure what time it was, but we definitely had time to kill.

So what a better way to kill time than to ride the TTA? Here we are
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic401.jpg

Next, we saw that the Indy Speedway had no line! I was amazed at this, as I never ride this since it always has a line. I didn't feel like driving, so I went with Chris, and we let Stephen go by himself. Good times!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic403.jpg
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic404.jpg

Chris really wanted to ride the Teacups, but Stephen gets sick just *thinking* about all that spinning! I have no problem with it, so I went on with him. He warned me he was going to spin it fast...
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic411.jpg

I seem to recall when we got off, I said something to him like "Wow, I never knew it could go that fast!" LOL! He really spun that thing! But it was fun. Since we were around there, we checked out Pooh, which by now had no wait. We were getting to the point where everyone was pretty much clearing out, and *this* was the time I was most looking forward to! So we went on Pooh, and then Snow White.

It wasn't yet time for our FP for Space, but we went back over that way anyway. We killed some time in Mickey's Star Traders. Chris tried on a hat. Very nice.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%203%20aug%2015%20MGM%20EP%20MK/pic413.jpg

Then it was finally 1:15 so we could use our FP for Space! All was going well until...duh duh duh...we had handed in our FP, and were right at the turn, and the lights turned on! Oh no! I was so close to getting out of that line, I felt like we were wasting valuable time! But the boys talked me into staying. It was about a 25 minute delay, yikes! By the time we got out of there, it was nearing 2am, and we wanted to hit Dumbo!

So back over to Fantasyland, and phew, we made it on!
Chris

The characters started coming out to ride with the little kids, just as they had when I did the EMH at MK in May. I love love love this evening EMH! Especially when it starts to clear out. This one is definitely worth it to me! Um, yeah, even though we had yet another AM EMH planned the next day...I can just go go go on vacation apparently! If I tried it at home, I would so crash! But WDW gives me that extra adrenaline, I guess.

Here's a couple of pics from on our way out

I also love that clearing out during the EMH's and you feel like you have the park all to yourself! :goodvibes All of it sounded like so much fun, I was drooling over the Dole Whip Float (one of my favorites!)! Can't wait for AK...:thumbsup2
Also, that last picture at the end facing Main Street with the lights is stunning!

I also love that clearing out during the EMH's and you feel like you have the park all to yourself! :goodvibes All of it sounded like so much fun, I was drooling over the Dole Whip Float (one of my favorites!)! Can't wait for AK...:thumbsup2
Also, that last picture at the end facing Main Street with the lights is stunning!

ah yes, that park to yourself feeling...nothing better!!! and thanks so much for all the compliments!

I'm loving your brothers, they are hilarious and goofy, they remind me a lot of my brothers. :rotfl:

hehe yeah, they sure are a blast :)

Great Update Marsh !! Your brothers are such FUN!!

thanks, they really are!

yeah, they're out of control, but what can ya do? and yes, it was delish!

How did your brothers get the rum in past security?

well, they just put it in a water bottle. nobody questioned them whatsoever. not that i'm recommending this, but just saying...that's what they did :rolleyes1

Day 4, Sat Aug 16, Part 1

So we had a very late night last night. Well, the boys and I did anyway. Mom was out like a light by the time I stumbled into the room in the wee hours of the morning. So she had no problem getting up this morning. Chris promised he'd be up and at em as well...so I just had to worry about me. Got some coffee in me, and I was good to go! We told Stephen just to meet us in time for breakfast at 10:30. But the rest of us were ready to head to Animal Kingdom for EMH.

So, we were at the bus stop by 7am, and at AK by 7:35am. Not too bad, and we were like 3rd in our line at the turnstiles. Once they let us through to the Oasis, I grabbed everyone's tickets so I could be the FP volunteer for Everest. I was right up at the rope. Here's the tip board, before they uncovered it.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%204%20aug%2016%20AK%20EP/pic428.jpg

And then we had the cute opening show. I didn't have a good look at Mickey, so I didn't bother trying to take a pic of him. But here's the rest of the gang!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%204%20aug%2016%20AK%20EP/pic429.jpg

Alrighty, so it was time to head to Expedition Everest! We went with the crowd, and I was one of the first at the FP machines. Awesome :thumbsup2 . Then I met up with my mom and Chris and we got in line...which was walk on of course this early. Red neck it up!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%204%20aug%2016%20AK%20EP/pic438.jpg

Then we decided that we'd wait on the Safari til we could get FP for it, so we went over to Dinoland instead. First up...Dinosaur! Rawr! Ooh, scary! Haha, look how bored Chris looks! Guess the Dino didn't really get him!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%204%20aug%2016%20AK%20EP/pic441.jpg

Since Chris loves the spinny rides, yeah, remember the teacups last night? Right. So even though I said if I never went on Primeval Hurl (teehee!) again, it would be too soon...he wanted to go on, so I went with him. He thought it should have spun more. I found that it didn't seem to whip me around as much when I sat back and kept my head against the rest...so that's what I did. Of course, my mom sat this one out, as she wanted none of the spinning.

Next up, hey look, another Dumbo clone! Triceratops Spin, here we come! Oh funny, after the spinny one, we couldn't find my mom and we walked past Triceratops Spin, and there was no one riding, so the CM was like "come on over! nobody on line!" We promised him we'd come back, but we had to find my mom. We did eventually find her in a store, and we all went on together. The CM was happy to see us! Since it was so empty, we each got our own dino. The two of them...

Once we were done in Dinoland, it was FP window time! So we were off to grab some FP at the Safari. When we got there, though, the line was nonexistent, so we got our FP and rode as well! That was a welcome surprise! Some lovely Safari pics

I think our FP window was up again, yeah, that happened pretty quick at AK, not so much at the other parks. Anyway, so we went over to Everest, and grabbed 3 more FP (so now we had 6...yes, let's remember that!). They had just opened up the single rider line, so we went on that...twice! Wanna see more of the red neck shots? You got it! But I'll just give you one of each of us...

Since it was nearing our ADR time, we then headed over to Tusker House. On the way over, we saw the crazy loud monkeys that make crazy noises, but they were pretty quiet this day.

Got to TH and checked in a bit early, and just waited for Stephen. He arrived at 10:25, and since our ADR was for 10:30, it was perfect timing. We got seated shortly after that. They took our picture before seating us

Day 4, Sat Aug 16, Part 1 (cont'd)

So after a nice breakfast, we wanted to go on the Safari again. But here's the catch...we only had 3 FP's, and now there were 4 of us. What to do? Well, I volunteered to sit it out, as I've done it many more times than the others, but Chris decided he wanted to take a little nap instead. So I went on with my mom and Stephen. Lots more pictures!

Some of those animals got really close, it was so cool!

When we got out, we had to go find Chris. We found a bench, and there he was! Sleeping as he promised he would be...
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%204%20aug%2016%20AK%20EP/pic552.jpg

It started drizzling, and we were gonna head out, but we still had our FP to use for Everest. Since we had 6, we had to decide what to do...we decided that we'd use 4 and give 2 away. Perfect! And on the way over, we ran into the gorgeous lady again!

And here we are on our last trip on Everest of the day. We asked to sit in the front, and were obliged. Sweet!

So it was time to leave. We found a couple of people on the line for Everest to give our FP to, and they were thrilled. We made our way out and were at the bus stop by 12:50, and pulled into Pop at 1:15. Nap/pool time!

next up: afternoon/evening at Epcot

Yeah, another update! :thumbsup2

What a great time you are having. I have really enjoyed your posts.

Loved reading about your EMH in the MK. When my kids and I were there in December, we went to the EMH on Christmas eve and we closed it down. It was our last day there and what a fantastic time we had, just like you did, when the park cleared out. It was magical. :wizard:

Sounds like your AK morning was great as well. I can't believe you were up and ready to go back out that early. How lucky that the animals came so close. When we went on last year, all the animals were far away and very lazy.

We never the did the front of EE, we'll have to try that next time.

Looking forward to your next update.

Day 3, Fri Aug 15, Part 3

Twas a perfect ending to a wonderful day! We got a bus real quick, and got ourselves to sleep as soon as we could!

Next up: EMH at AK, Tusker House b'fast

I was at EMH the same time you were. I bet we just missed each other on everything. We road Splash rather than BTMRR. We then got a Dole Whip. We went to ride Buzz. We noticed that the line wasn't too long at Space and I remember that FP return time was at 1:05 slightly earlier than when you were there. We ended up riding stand by because the line was only 20 minutes at the time. They were having issues when we were in line so the wait was actually a little longer. This was our last night and we ended up leaving the park after our ride on Space since we had a long day of traveling ahead of us. It was right at 1 am when we left.

My TR link is below but I haven't made it to the 15th yet.

Day 4, Sat Aug 16, Part 2

So when I last left you, it was nap time for me! And nap I did. Surely needed it after that late night/early morning combo! So I slept from 1:30-3:45, while mom and the boys hung out at the pool. My mom came back, showered, and we got ready to head to the bus stop, where we arrived at 4:40. And our bus luck continued, as an Epcot bus pulled up shortly after, and we were walking in by 5pm. We decided we may as well FastPass Mission: Space, since Chris wanted to do it. And if we wanted to go on Test Track, we'd do singles, and of course FP were gone for Soarin for the day. But not to worry! We have a rope drop coming up one day!

We had an ADR at San Angel Inn at 6:30, but my mom was a little hungry, and she saw what she wanted...
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%204%20aug%2016%20AK%20EP/pic558.jpg

Okay, cool, there's two left, shouldn't be a problem. Except that the people in front of us bought them both. And they had no more anywhere. So we were on a mission. A pretzel mission. But for some reason, we couldn't find one anywhere! So I suggested we head to the Land to go to Seasons to see if we could find her something there. She was about to get on line to buy a bag of crunchy pretzels (not the same thing, but she would make do), when I remembered that you get a free cookie for your birthday! So of course, she went for the cookie.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%204%20aug%2016%20AK%20EP/pic559.jpg

Satisfied with her treat, we went on our way to Mousegears to do some shopping. We left in time to catch the British Invasion at 6pm, but since we had seen the 6pm show yesterday, it was the same lineup. We didn't feel like listening to the same songs, so we left. We took the long way to Mexico, by way of Morocco. See, I was on a mission to find the Genie for my friend James. Not sure if I mentioned that mission before, but I've been on it since May! And still no luck. Boo Disney! You need Genie stuff! /end rant.

So we made our way over to Mexico, and checked in a bit before 6:30, and the boys showed up shortly after. We had to wait like 20 minutes to be seated, which was our longest wait all week. I figured it had something to do with eating closer to a normal time, as we usually ate later. Anywho, it wasn't a bad wait, since you have the whole Mexican pavilion to entertain you while you wait.

Sweet. So full from our dinner, we wanted to head over to the Seas, since I figured it would be a good time to fit in Turtle Talk with Crush. Oh, but I stopped to get myself a Green Apple Margarita first, since they only have them outside. Yum!

Much better :thumbsup2 . Although, I do quite enjoy the one Chris snuck into. It's just a perfect example of my brother. Priceless.

So we went over to the Seas, and I just love the "mine mine mine" birds. Oh like you couldn't imagine. I have the shirt. I took video of them going "mine mine mine" but I haven't uploaded it. It's hysterical. Cracks me up. Then we went on the Nemo ride, since there was no line. Me and my brothers squeezed ourselves into one clam shell. We left my mom on her own, because she was refusing to get off her cell phone. Anyway, we were a bit of a tight fit in there, but we survived. This ride isn't anything wonderful, but hey, no line, and the boys hadn't been on it.

Next up...what I had been waiting for...Turtle Talk! Now, I had talked this up quite a bit. Because normally, it's absolutely hysterical! Note to self...don't go to Turtle Talk at 8:20pm. Most of the kiddies are gone or their parents are waiting with them for Illuminations. There were only a few kids, and there wasn't much interaction. I guess they were tired or something. But usually, Crush is much funnier. So that was a bit of a dud, and we never did make it back for another show. Oh well. You know I'll be back. And I guess the boys will just have to make another trip! Nothing wrong with that!

We decided that we weren't going to stay for Illuminations. Mom and I wanted to get to DTD to hit up the Adventurers Club, as we have never been. I know. Really. Our first trip would be our last. Very sad. And the boys wanted to come just to hit up the shops.

But anyway, I had a bit of a brain fart on how to get to DTD. Smart way would have been to walk out the back, head to the Boardwalk, and get a bus from there. For some reason, I swore that the TTC was still the hub it used to be, and that you could catch a bus from there to anywhere. So we took the monorail over there. Well, obviously, I was wrong. So we got to the TTC, walked over to the buses, and turned right back around. And walked over to the Polynesian to get a bus from there. At least it worked out in the end, but the fam (mostly the boys) were not pleased that their all-knowing sister messed up. I wasn't too thrilled with myself either, I mean, come on, I should know these things!

Well anyway, so we made our way to DTD, and left the boys to their shopping, while we walked over to Pleasure Island. Bought our tix, and we on our way. We went straight to the bar, where I ordered a Kungaloosh, of course, as I knew it was the signature. And my mom got a Samantha's Passion Punch. Oh these were good

We had a really great time! Saw a couple of shows in the side rooms, and became honorary members. Kungaloosh! I'm so sad I will never get to go back to this place, as it really was a lot of fun, and I didn't make my way there until this trip! Enjoy some pictures

We left around midnight, as we didn't want to stay out too late. Two late nights in a row for me, good thing I have that Disney adrenaline! We got to the bus stop at 12:10am, just as a bus pulled up. Perfect timing. Sweet. And we were sleeping not too long after.

Next up: day with grandpa in St Cloud, and night @MGM

Great update. I have a lot of pics DH ruined by jumping in the way, but it is never just the corner, normally his head and nothing else.

Ok, I have to try that Green Apple Margarita, I love the Fiesta ones.

I have never been to any of the clubs at DTD. Always have the kiddo with us. Guess we never will.

Why don't they have buses from the parks to DTD? It makes no sense.

Day 5, Sun Aug 17

So this was an off day for us. Pre-planned. And I was kicking and screaming! Haha. I don't like taking off, I know I'm a horrible person, but I didn't really want to go visit my grandfather. I wanted park time. Oh well. I was over-ruled by the rest of the fam. So I had arranged for a rental car from the Dolphin. And I had arranged an ADR for 50's Prime Time Cafe for 9:15pm. That was really all we had set in stone.

Anyway, that morning, we slept in. Well, the boys and I did anyway. My mom got up and went to church. She took a cab both ways. Once she got back, we all got ourselves ready to go and were on a bus to MGM, where we arrived at 11:50am. I figured, since we were stopping there anyway, we may as well go in and grab some FP's to use later. Of course, Toy Story Mania was out, so I got us 4 for Tower of Terror. That would mean 2 rides for me and Chris later, and we'd rely on the single rider line at Rock'n'Roller Coaster.

So we took the boat over to the Swolphin, and went into the Dolphin to pick up the car. It was easy peasy. So we headed to my Grandfather's in St. Cloud. We had "dinner" at around 4:30pm. Then we dropped him at his house, and headed back to WDW. We dropped the car off at the Dolphin at 6:30pm, we were on a boat at 6:45, and arrived back at MGM at 7pm. Well, 3 of us anyway. Stephen stayed back cause he was having tummy issues. Normally, I wouldn't tell you this, but it comes into play later. Now, originally, I thought about heading to Epcot instead because I wanted to catch Off Kilter. But I decided to go with the rest of them to MGM. And I would later regret that decision! You will see....

So we're at MGM. I stopped by the Tune In Lounge to let David know we would be back later. And while I was walking out, who was walking in but Cindy...the CM who had taken me on Toy Story Mania during the CM preview in May! Small world!

So then I took my mom and Chris's tix (and mine) and got us 3 FastPasses for Star Tours to use later. It was okay that we only had 3, since my mom didn't want to go on anyway. Then we went over to use 2 of our FP for ToT that I had gotten earlier in the day. There ended up being no line, so we wouldn't have needed them anyway, oh well! Ah, here's a pic
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%205%20aug%2017%20grandpa%20MGM/pic593.jpg

And here's our redneck shot, it's blurry, I'm in the neon (lime!) green
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%205%20aug%2017%20grandpa%20MGM/pic596.jpg

At this point, we were wondering where Stephen was, so we called him. Found out he had already come into the park and had decided to go on the single rider line at Toy Story Mania. And he was almost at the front. So the other three of us decided that since he said it was a short wait, we'd go and do it too. But when we got there, the line was really long for singles, so we decided just to wait for him. Now, I got a little peeved that Stephen didn't tell us right away that the singles line was short. But oh well. So I was jealous that he got to go on again.

Then the boys and I wanted to use our FP's for Star Tours. Well, we got there, and they had the FP line closed. So that was a waste. Oh well, not gonna complain about no lines!

Next up, we decided to try out the single rider line for RnR. It was actually a pretty long wait. Like, 30 minutes or something. For the singles line. I wasn't thrilled, but it wasn't too bad, since we met a really nice girl from Germany who was riding alone as well. She told us about her trip, how she was there for three weeks! Wow, that was pretty awesome! She was really sweet. My mom and I ended up on the same train, and we got "Sweet Emotion", while the boys ended up after us, and got "Dude Looks Like a Lady". Here are our shots!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%205%20aug%2017%20grandpa%20MGM/pic597.jpg

Since the wait was so long for the RnR, we actually got to the 50's just in time for our ADR. Or a couple minutes late. Yeah, my notes say we got there at 9:20 and our ADR was for 9:15. But they weren't busy, so it wasn't a problem. Look how empty it was!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%205%20aug%2017%20grandpa%20MGM/pic602.jpg

Our waitress was Memory, and she was nice enough. But there really wasn't any shenanigans. Oh well. We had drinks, we had appys, then we peaced out to the bar and hung out with David. Oh here's a family shot of us at the table before heading to the bar
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%205%20aug%2017%20grandpa%20MGM/pic610.jpg

So my mom and I went and spent what we thought was our last time with David. He wasn't in any rush to get us out, but we left not too long after, because they needed to close up for the night. Here's me on the way out
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%205%20aug%2017%20grandpa%20MGM/pic618.jpg

Not sure what time we headed out, but it wasn't too late. We were sad to say goodbye to David, but our plans didn't put us back in MGM for the rest of our trip. I told him I probably wouldn't see him till the new year, so that was a bummer. (I have since booked a trip for Nov...he doesn't know though!). So we went back to Pop and sent ourselves to bed. We had an MK morning (not EMH though!) ahead of us!

I'm really sorry this installment is so light on pictures. It was a pretty empty/off day.

next up: morning in MK

Uh oh, stomach problems. Never good, especially on vacation.

Can't believe 50's Primtime was so empty. Love the food there and the atmosphere, but the atmosphere is it being so packed and loud with people carrying on.

Day 6, Mon Aug 18, Part 1

This was a Magic Kingdom morning, and I was so excited for it! Plus, it wasn't an EMH, so we got a bit of extra sleep. Sweet! We were on a bus at 8:10, and arrived at the MK by 8:30. I took charge of the tickets, and was right at the front for rope drop. Here's a coupe shots I took while waiting to get in

Our mission for today was to get Chris on Splash Mountain as many times as possible. And to get Belle pics for Stephen. Sooo, we all headed to Frontierland. I sent mom and Chris ahead, while Stephen and I went for the FastPasses. Since mom and Chris busted such a move, they were the first ones on the ride of the day! They got front row, they were so excited!

After that, it was about 9:30, and we decided to split up. Mom and Chris went to ride Big Thunder while Stephen and I headed over to Toon Town. Because we were going to meet the princesses! I know that Toon Town often opens early, so we got there with time to spare.

Well, glad I got those pics, because we were on the other line. The princess line. And we crossed our fingers that Belle would be there for Stephen. Because when I had been there in May, there had only been Aurora and Cinderella. But we were in luck, she was there!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%206%20aug%2018%20MK%20EP/pic643.jpg

First up, we met Aurora

Then Cinderella

And then the star of the show, Belle! Stephen was enamored. I asked her if she'd kiss him on the cheek, but she said she saves her kisses for her Beast. Oh well!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%206%20aug%2018%20MK%20EP/pic654.jpg

After our time with the Princesses, we went to meet mom and Chris at the Main Street Bakery for breakfast. Yum Yum! I must have taken the path over to Tomorrowland and grabbed us FP for Space on the way to breakfast, though.

Next up, we had to go see Philharmagic, since Chris hadn't seen it yet. On the way, I got a picture of the Castle. Empty park much?

My friend James loves the Genie, so I got this picture for him of a poster on the wall

We gave my mom the camera, and she took this
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%206%20aug%2018%20MK%20EP/pic665.jpg

Yes, she cut off Stephen's head. I looked at it and saw that, so had her take another. They still made funny faces, cuz that's what they do!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%206%20aug%2018%20MK%20EP/pic666.jpg

After our journey through the movies, we headed over to Tomorrowland and grabbed another set of FP for Space. Right, so now we had 4 FP's for Splash, and 2 sets of 4 for Space. I know some people have asked how I hold so many FP's at the same time, well, here ya go!

We decided to take a load off and ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. I do love this ride, even though it's slow. It's just nice to zoom around the whole land and just relax. Good times! Once we got off the TTA, we used one of our sets of FP's for Space. Then we went and grabbed a set of FP for Peter Pan, then went and used our second set of FP for Space. Yeah, our windows were really short this day! Thank you TGM, for your green park rating. Perfect.

Once we were done in Tomorrowland, it was about time to head over to the Plaza for our 12:25 ADR. We got there at about 12:15, and were seated a few minutes later. Twas a nice and relaxing lunch. We all enjoyed it.

Since we were still holding 4 FP for Splash, plus the 4 for Peter Pan, the boys decided to stay and use them, while my mom and I headed back to Pop for a break. So Chris got to go on Splash a total of 4 times this day, so he was pleased. Mom and I were at the bus stop by 1:20, and I was napping away by 2pm.

next up: Fay makes her presence known, my wet afternoon in Epcot, dinner @ Fulton's

Day 6, Mon Aug 18, Part 2

Alrighty, so when I left you a month ago, I was just about to take a nap. And that I did, from 2 til 3:15pm. Here's a pic I took on the way back to the room...very similar to one I took on the way to the room in May!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%206%20aug%2018%20MK%20EP/pic676.jpg

Anyway, so my mom decided she wanted to stay at the hotel, and she would meet me later. But I wanted to hit up Epcot! So I got on the bus and was dropped off at 3:45pm....aaaaaand it was pouring!! So I donned my poncho, and off I went. Fay was not going to stop me! No way, no how!

So I was planning on hitting up World Showcase, first stop, Miyuki. Well, I got there after she started her show, so it was pretty crowded, so I figured I'd catch her later. What's a girl to do? How about get a cocktail? Yes, that sounds about right :thumbsup2 . So I went to Italy and got an Italian Margarita.

Then I really didn't have anything to do till the fake Beatles at 4:30, so I took my time walking around Italy and Germany taking pics. Here's the big golf ball from across the lake
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%206%20aug%2018%20MK%20EP/pic678.jpg

Here's some of Italy (notice the wet ground...it had stopped raining though)

Then it was time to catch the British Invasion at 4:30. They played She Loves You, I Feel Fine, Roll over Beethoven, All My Lovin, Please Please Me, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, and When I Saw Her Standing There. They were great, as usual.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%206%20aug%2018%20MK%20EP/pic695.jpg

Then it was Miyuki time!!! I love seeing Miyuki, and I was lucky enough last November to get picked to get a candy. This time, I got there early enough for the 5:05 show that I was in prime candy location. She made 3 candies (Pegasus, Dragon, and Flying Cow)...and then...she picked me!!! I got a Frog. Woo Hoo!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%206%20aug%2018%20MK%20EP/pic701.jpg

After I was given my prize, I moved out of the way so other people could see better. She made one more after mine, a Seahorse. I went to go see Off Kilter, but apparently I don't know how to read a schedule. Cuz they weren't playing.

So I headed back to grab a FP for Mission: Space, then rode Test Track single rider twice. Crash Test Dummy!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%206%20aug%2018%20MK%20EP/pic737.jpg

Then I used my M:S FP. I wanted to his the British Invasion again at 7pm, and my mom told me she was on her way over, so that's where we decided to meet. I was hoping she would get there early enough to grab us a couple cocktails from France first, but she was running later than me....so I went to France and got her a wine, and me a Grey Goose Slushie of course!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%206%20aug%2018%20MK%20EP/pic743.jpg

Made it back to the UK *just* in time for the show to start, but where was my mom? Still running (yes, she actually ran) from the front of the park. Haha, she arrived all out of breath, but caught it pretty quick when I handed over her wine. Cocktails cure all :thumbsup2

The 7pm show was a Sgt Pepper's Show, and I was so excited! They played Sgt Pepper, Little Help from my Friends, Lucy in the Sky, When I'm 64, Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, and All You Need is Love. Fantastic! And they were all dressed up too.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%206%20aug%2018%20MK%20EP/pic752.jpg

After that, we had to make our way out of the park, since we had dinner ressies at Fulton's. So we walked over to the Boardwalk and caught a bus at 7:50 to DTD. We arrived shortly later, and met the boys at the restaurant. Checked in and were seated at a gorgeous window seat upstairs.

Once we were done, we kinda wandered around DTD a bit. We went to the gift shop of Raglan Road. I don't think anybody bought anything. We headed for the bus stop, and headed back to the hotel around 10:15pm.

We were in bed shortly after, to ready ourselves for an early morning at Epcot for mom's birthday!

I feel really stupid right now. I didn't realize they had Italian Margarita's at Epcot. So next trip, I want to try the Grey Goose Slushie, the Italian Maragarita, and my favorite the Fiesta Margarita. I may end up being one of those people passed out at Epcot.

Wow, that was a great table at Fulton's. I need to try it sometime.

Glad your back and look forward to the next installment!

Day 7, Tues Aug 19, Part 1

So today was to be a special day....it was my mom's real birthday!!! And it just worked out perfectly that we were headed to Epcot this morning, to *finally* ride Soarin', as it's one of mom's favorites. I mean, we had spent a few afternoons in Epcot already, but this was our first rope drop, and our first chance to ride Soarin, since you know, we don't wait on lines! Haha!

So it was EMH morning, and we were on the bus to Epcot at 7:15am. And it was raining. Not like, bad rain, but enough. Enough to scare the crowds away! I absolutely could not believe it! You've heard of the Soarin stampede? Yeah....check this out....
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%207%20aug%2019%20EP%20AK/pic795.jpg

That's right. I took that picture on the way to the Land...do you see anyone around me??? I should have turned around and taken a picture of those behind me....or should I say, those NOT behind me. I was absolutely amazed! I was easily the first one to the FP machines, where I got our set, and then we walked right on...and sat front and center! Perfect! Happy Birthday Mom! She was in heaven.

Since it was only about 8:15 at this point, we decided to stop for some breakfast, since we had lunch planned for 12:30. We ate at Seasons. It was good stuff.

After we finished our food, we decided we may as well ride Living with the Land to kill the time to our FP window. So we rode. Here's some shots.

Pretty sunflowers
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%207%20aug%2019%20EP%20AK/pic808.jpg

I love these guys!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%207%20aug%2019%20EP%20AK/pic814.jpg

Well, as we were pulling up to the "dock", I spotted them...the Dream Team...standing there with big black bags. I told my fam, dude! We're totally about to get dreamed!!!! But alas, we walked off and they just smiled at us. Apparently, we were a minute too soon. Because the next boat got Dream Ears. Oh well, no biggie. I've gotten ears before, so I wasn't too disappointed. I probably wouldn't have even minded if it was FastPasses, since the park was so empty anyway. Just would have been nice to win! My mom hasn't won on her 2 trips. Oh well, like I said, we didn't dwell on it.

What did we do? Well, we went right back over to Soarin to secure another set of FP, since our window was up. Then we went right back on with our FP from rope drop. And we got to sit in the front again. I'll take that luck any day!

After that, we figured we may as well head to the other side of the park and try Test Track single rider line. Well, we got there, and the single rider line was huge! What's that all about? Oh well. We ended up getting FP for Mission: Space, since Chris still wanted to ride it and he hadn't yet. Then we went to check out Space Ship Earth, and lo and behold, it was only a five minute line. Perfect! Somehow, I managed to get no pictures of our screens.

At this point, my brothers went off to rent wheelchairs. I need to stop here and just vent. I was not pleased. I made sure they knew it. They weren't doing it to get on rides quicker (wouldn't have worked even if that was their intention, I know). They said their legs were tired, and they wanted to work their arms. Really? I thought they were being stupid. Anyway...

Once they got their chairs, they stopped to get some photopass pics. Yeah, I forgot that I have our Photopass Pics now, I'll include them from now on. Would you expect anything less from these two???
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/photopass/image1124.jpg
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/photopass/image1126.jpg

Then they went and did some golf ball pics
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/photopass/image1130.jpg

While they were on their chair mission, my mom and I went to use 2 of our FP for Soarin. We sat in the front, but I think this time we had to wait for it. But we don't mind. That extra 6 minutes is so worth it to not have feet in your view! Then we stopped back over at Seasons to get my mom her free birthday chocolate chip cookie! She shared a bite with me, which I enjoyed thoroughly!

We met back up with the boys, so that Chris and I could use our FP for Mission: Space. Once we were done cruising to Mars, we met back up with Mom and Stephen, and made our way over to World Showcase, because we were having lunch in France! My mom was very excited about this lunch, she specifically asked for it. On the way, Stephen was nice enough to push my mom in his chair, since she said she was tired. Nice.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%207%20aug%2019%20EP%20AK/pic817.jpg

We had a lovely lunch in France, then we split up again. The boys went off in search of Germany. And beer. German beer. Okay boys, just make sure you meet us for dinner! It is mom's birthday, you know!

Anyway, mom and I stopped off in Morocco to get a Tangeriene Coctail. This thing is yummy! Er, have I found a drink yet that I didn't find yummy??? Not sure, lemme get back to you on that one! Oh, and you get to keep the plastic "glass" it comes in.
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%207%20aug%2019%20EP%20AK/pic834.jpg

So we had a bunch of Soarin FP from earlier. I'm not even sure how many at this point...definitely 2 left over from the last time when the boys were getting their chairs, and another 4 that we got after that one? Oh I don't even know! Yeah, I know. That's pretty crazy. We got to the land around 2pm And I'm pretty sure we only rode one more time, at least that's all I have written down. Maybe we gave the others away. That's what we did whenever we had extras, so yeah, probably. Anyway, this time we waited for the front again. Good times!

I'm pretty sure this day, I didn't plan in a break, since our afternoon was to be spent at AK, and it was only open til 7, so a break wouldn't have made sense. It was still raining at this point, but we were not discouraged! We made our way to the International Gateway, to walk over to the Boardwalk to catch a bus to Animal Kingdom from there. And I'll tell you about how awesome it was next time!

next up: rain rain, don't go away! wonderful afternoon in AK!

Day 7, Tues Aug 19, Part 2

Okay, so we left the boys to their beer in Epcot, and my mom and I headed over to Animal Kingdom. Let me just tell you, that was so the way to go! There was NO ONE there!!! We arrived at AK around 3:30, and got some photopass pics, of course, donning our ponchos.

What was our first stop? And our second, and third??? Expedition Everest, of course!!! That's right...we went on Everest...3 times in a row, it was a walkon all 3 times. Could not ask for more! We sat in the back, the middle, and the front. Here are our first 2 red neck pics, haha, I posed and made funny faces.

My mom still hadn't seen the Nemo show, so I figured we should probably do that. There was a show starting at 4:45, and since I've heard you should get there really early to get a decent seat (I've been before myself, but arrived last minute and was lucky to find a seat waaaaay in the back), we arrived at 4:15. And we really could have arrived much later...like I said...no one was at AK! We were in the middle, we had our choice of seats. I really like this show, and my mom ended up enjoying it too, so I was glad.

Lovely!

At some point, we stopped for pics with Everest in the background. Maybe before we went on the ride? Eh, I dunno. Photopass coming up!

Okay, so after Nemo, we went to see It's Tough to be a Bug. Mom had never seen it. I *think* this may have been my first time seeing it too...no, that's a lie! I saw it back in May, so nevermind! Haha, yeah, I have a great memory! Anyway, it's a cute show, and I love the "interaction" that occurs. I won't go into specifics, just in case you haven't been...I want you to be surprised! It's a good time. Might be scary for little ones, but I wouldn't really know. Use your own discretion.

At this point, I was getting a little chilly. Somehow, this was the one day I forgot to bring a long sleeve shirt in my bag. I think I wore the one I packed the night before, and just forgot to replace it. Buggers! So we decided to do a little shopping, and I picked up a really nice AK Mickey shirt. You'll see me wearing it in the pictures to come.

We wanted to hit the Lion King show, since my mom really liked it when she saw it, and even though I've seen it many many times, I can't get enough! So there was a show at 6:30, which would end right when the park closed, at 7. We went over to Camp Minnie Mickey with a little time to spare, and I noticed that none of the characters had any lines!!! Oh my goodness, I couldn't pass it up! A couple of the handlers made me take off my poncho, but a couple didn't. Weird! But the interaction was awesome!

Ah, it was so awesome, as usual!

Once the show let out, it was time to leave, as the park was closed. We headed to the buses, to catch the bus to the Poly, since we were having dinner at Ohana. Yum Yum, great dinner!

After dinner, we took the monorail over to the MK to catch a bus back to Pop. Once we got there, it was after 10, and I still needed to check with the front desk about the fridge. Yeah, it still hadn't arrived. And we were leaving the next day. I was not thrilled.

Anyway, I went back to the room and got all packed up, since we needed to get up in the morning to drop off our stuff before heading to our last day of parks.

next up: checking out, MK morning

Love all of your photopass pics. I wanted one in front of EE, but didn't get it. We loved Finding Nemo also. It really is a great show.

Oh no. Your last day is coming up. I'm looking forward to more on MK, but not you checking out!

Day 8, Wed Aug 20

Okay, so this morning, we were a bit sad, because we had to pack up, check our luggage, and leave our carry-ons with luggage services. I also had to put a couple packages on hold for the swapper coming after me (even though the fridge still wasn't there!!). But at least we had one last visit to the Magic Kingdom left. We got a bus at 8:15 and were at MK by 8:30.

Heres a shot of the empty space in front of me

Once it was time for rope drop, me and mom headed to Fantasyland, since she hadn't ridden Dumbo yet this trip. We sent the boys to get us FP for Space Mountain while they went to ride it. I took this on our way to Dumbo

Once we finished our flight on Dumbo, we took the opportunity to hit up Peter Pan, with no line of course. Then it was time to meet up with the boys, as we were headed to Frontierland. I wasn't thrilled about the idea of getting wet on Splash since it was kinda cloudy and not too warm, so we decided we'd hit up Big Thunder instead. We asked for the back rows, and we were obliged. Mom sat with Stephen.

And Chris and I sat together in front of them

After that, we started making our way toward the front of the park, since we had breakfast ADR's at Crystal Palace at 10am. We had a bit of time to kill (yes, we did *that* much in about half an hour...awesome!!!), so we stopped in a couple shops. I'm the coolest!

So right, we made it to Crystal Palace at 9:45 and were seated shortly after that. We had a lovely breakfast with the Pooh characters.

After breakfast, the boys wanted to go check out the monorail resorts. There, they ended up meeting lots of characters! I guess cause it was raining, and Fay was all up in our business, Disney decided to put some characters at the hotels. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me! They got loads of photopass pics. Haha, actually, they took these on their way out...YMCA anyone?

While the boys spent their time meeting characters, my mom and I stayed in MK a bit longer. We had some FastPasses to use! First, we grabbed FP for Peter Pan, then we hit Small World, because really, amazingly, we hadn't hit it yet this trip! The boys had, before I met up with them on EMH night, so they were excused! But you know, my rule, must do Small World once a trip! Enjoy!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%208%20aug%2020%20MK%20MGM/pic1125.jpg

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%208%20aug%2020%20MK%20MGM/pic1143.jpg
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%208%20aug%2020%20MK%20MGM/pic1149.jpg

Then, since we had the 4 FP for Space that the boys had gotten us at rope drop (thanks boys!), we got to go on Space twice in a row using those FPs. Also, between our two Space trips, our FP window was up again, so we grabbed yet *another* pair for Space.

We never did end up using the 2 FP for Peter Pan, or the other 2 for Space Mountain, so we gave them away on our way out. Because, hey, well, we decided...we had to go see David at the Tune in Lounge...just one more time! So we took the monorail at noon to the TTC to get a bus to MGM. We arrived at MGM at 12:35. Got lucky and a bus was just pulling up as we got to the TTC. Anyway, at this time, TSM still had the single rider line, so we went to check it out, but they had closed it. So we went to the RnR and rode that single rider line instead. Red neck shots! Oh I made a sad face, since I knew this was my last ride of the trip
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%208%20aug%2020%20MK%20MGM/pic1152.jpg

Then of course, it was time to hit the bar. David was happy to see us, since he thought we weren't coming back this trip. And we ordered drinks, duh!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%208%20aug%2020%20MK%20MGM/pic1155.jpg

We enjoyed our last few minutes with David, and I told him I'd see him again in the new year...because at that time, I didn't know I was going in November! So he'll sure be surprised to see me next week!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/day%208%20aug%2020%20MK%20MGM/pic1159.jpg

Anyway, we said our goodbyes. Then we found a Photopass lady to take some shots of us "holding up the hat".

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r149/marsh0013/disney%202008%20aug%2013-20/photopass/image1075.jpg

Then it was a sad sad time...time to leave! We got to the bus stop around 3pm, and were at Pop around 3:20. It gave us plenty of time, as I think our DME bus came around 4 or 4:30. Here's the rest of the fam waiting around the lobby

And I took a few pics of the large year icons as we waited in the rainy day for the bus

We had an uneventful trip to the airport, and the rain held up enough that we weren't delayed. Got home. And the rest is boring old life!

Thank you to everyone who spent the time to relive this with me, it was loads of fun! And I can't wait til I leave in a few more days, and can come back and share with you once again!

I didn't know you were doing a solo trip so soon. How long are you there for? I'll keep an eye out for you if I get to go. Going this Friday night, but don't know when I will get to head that way again.

Loved your TR and that is so cool your brothers met all those characters. They would be a great advertisement for the parks that it isn't just for young ones, but for all of those young at heart. Looks like you all had a blast!

Looking forward to your next TR, please let us know when you do it!
