We are thinking of getting the City Pass and we have an almost 5 year old. Is she too young for the rides in Universal?

O.K. that was the short answer. The truth is, we went there with the kids because I remember going as a kid and it was horrible! There was loud loud rock music blaring and hardly anything for little kids. I went with them to the Nicolodeon ball pit (which was fun) while everyone else rode The Mummy etc. I wouldn't even go there as an adult. There really weren't that many 'rides' per se. Maybe I was just bitter and disappointed because its not how I remembered. The atmosphere was so not for kids. :snooty:

I was wondering the same thing. I wish they had a Island of Adventure then could do the Dr. Seuss stuff

I think mostly for tweens, teens and adults would be an accurate description. There are a few things -- Shrek 4-D, the Curious George play area, an Animal Actors show -- that an almost-5 year old would probably like, but most of the headliner rides and attractions are geared older.

To be honest, I think 5 years old is too young. A lot of things at USH are really scary, especially Jurassic Park and the Mummy ride. There are scary special effects and music, and some of the rides are really dark and fast. I would say that USH is more for older teens. There are some kid type things to do there, but not very much.

Well there are things for kids to do, but I would say its a better place for kids around the age of 10 because like others said its a place with loud bangs, cracks, crashes etc. There is a small Nickelodon spray park area and there is Shrek 4D (But this still is loud and bangy), and there is a show with the worlds most talented animals that they might enjoy. There is the new Simpsons ride, but still kids have to be over a certain height. Jurassic park has the long drop and kids should still be a certain height, and the tram back lot tour can be extremely scary at times even for adults.

I was just there and I wouldn't take my kids aged 8 and 4. There was little for them to do that wouldn't scare them to death. I saw kids leaving attractions crying and screaming. It'a alot of money for what's there honestly.

Unviersal Hollywood is so disapointing when you compare it with the Orlando version. Its mostly stunt shows, one animal show, Simpson ride, Backstage Tour and the Mummy ride is awful. The Mummy ride in Florida was one of my favorite rides. I would NOT go back with or without kids.
