I have heard that the Swan and Dolphin offer discounts to teachers. Does anyone have the details on this. I was specifically wondering if I could get a discount over Winter Break (Christmas), or if the discount was for the summer months only.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

My DH is a professor at the local art school, and we were able to use the teacher discount at the Dolphin for December 17-25. The rate for a standard room with two double beds was $159/night for the 17-22(I think, don't hold me to that) and $199/night for the rest of the trip. They charge for parking, and if you want the fridge cleaned out of minibar items so you can use it, it is $25 for the week. I believe we could have used the discount for the Swan, too, if it had been available. You should call them soon, and keep calling back if it isn't available. The last night wasn't originally available to me, but I called back a couple of weeks later and it was. HTH..

I just booked DSD and her family at the Dolphin. I was given a quote for both Dolpin and Swan on the teacher rate. I was able to secure a great rate that was even better as a FL resident for her. I'm currently mulling how much $$ the monorail is worth, as I could have a nicer room W/better view for about $500 less! [+ I am a starwood member and would earn serios points for another vacation] If I hadn't already made so many ADRs on the monorail line it would be a no-brainer!

This is so funny, I had a dream about my trip to the Dolphin, and to make it short, the transportation to the parks was an indoor flume/roller coaster ride. I couldn't get to the right park I wanted because I kept getting on the wrong flume, but it was fun!
I have very weird WDW dreams, usually the kind where I arrive and I am totally unorganized and sleep until noon. So unlike control freak me...
I am so excited about staying at the Dolphin, but I would be in a conflict if I could manage to get the WL for the same price. That ain't gonna happen, so Dolphin here we come!
karlzmom, should I become a starwood member for this? I don't even know what that is!
OP. Yacht club would be nice....wish I could afford that!
