Hi everyone! :wave2:

:welcome: to my 2nd PTR of the year! Yes, that's right, my 2nd PTR. As you may or may not know, my dad, sister, and I went to Disney World this past May. We were also there last December/January but because of some travel issues, we got to take that extra trip in May. (If you haven't already, you can read that TR HERE (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1769016)). Hopefully I'll have some people join in on the fun again.

So despite the fact that we were just recently there, we are planning another trip! Of course, it also helps that we're DVC members so for us it's hard to stay away too long. :) And I'm ready to get this party started. Here are the basics for the upcoming trip:

the dates: December 16-December 21, 2008

the resort: Beach Club Villas

I love Disney at Christmas so I'm really excited about this. :santa: It'll also be our first time staying at the Beach Club  Of course, if you read my May TR, you know that I'm also looking for a full-time teaching job...as of right now it's not going as I would have liked. I'm still hoping something comes along (even if now it's just a long-term subbing position), but for the time being we'll act as though this trip is definitely going to happen for me. ;)

I hope you decide to join me for this adventure...stay tuned for more!

:santa:

The Cast

Much like our trip in May, only part of my family will be going on this trip. The cast includes:

Me, (aka Sarah): 23-year old graduate of Marquette University where I majored in Elementary Education (I'm certified for grades 1-8) and English. One of the biggest Disney fanatics you'll ever meet. :teeth: It seems that my love for Disney grows with age.

Emma: My OTHER sister. She's an 18-year old freshman at Marquette, even though she swore she wasn't going to go to MU since her 2 older sisters did. Majoring in business because her goal is to work for the Milwaukee Brewers. Since she wasn't able to come in May she's really looking forward to this trip, especially the Beach Club.

Here's Emma and me in Arizona when we went to Brewers spring training:

Dad: Went to Princeton, then the University of Michigan for law school. Loves trips to Disney and his favorite character is Tigger!

Here he is at TPC Scottsdale, proudly standing by the plaque for the hole where he got a hole-in-one. :teeth:

My mom and sister Claire (the one who came in May) aren't going to be coming on this trip. Mom's not really a big fan of traveling in general, and since it's right before Christmas she'd rather stay home. Claire enjoys going to Disney World but I guess since we were just there she's not too enthusiastic about going again (me, on the other hand...;) ) So, it'll just be the three of us. We'll miss them, but we know we'll still have a great time.

More to come later!

I'm in again! We are headed to Wisconsin later in September and can't wait for some cheese curds. I can't wait to see your pictures of the BC. My DH would love to stay there, as would I, but I can't imagine spending that kind of $$ on a hotel room. I'm really cheap when it comes to certain things.

I'm so excited for your trip! Though I am hoping you get a job too. Maybe even if you do you will be allowed to go since you already had this booked. It is worth asking at least. I can not wait to read about your plans and then the trip itself (then stealing all your ideas!)

Yeah, the whole area around the Y&BC is amazing! We've always wanted to stay in that area...so much activity! We've been to WDW a couple times right after Christmas and it's so neat seeing all the decorations in the parks and resorts. Thanks for joining in!

So I was bored before and decided to go onto YouTube and watch some Disney World videos. I happened to stumble across this one of the Castle Dream Lights show:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjIvYFF1fw0

I'm pretty sure that I watched this same video last year when I first read that they were going to be having the dream lights and I remember thinking how amazing it was. It's so cool how they light up the castle! I really wanted to see the show in person when we were there last year but unfortunately we missed it. :guilty: The castle is beautiful in itself but with those lights...WOW.

http://photos-g.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v171/6/110/1605780003/n1605780003_30205726_22.jpg

I took this picture on our first morning (yep, it was still dark out for EMH!) and when I first saw it, it literally took my breath away. Really, the picture does not do it justice. It's definitely one of Disney's best ideas...I can't wait to see it again this year! :goodvibes

Also, yesterday Dad and I were talking about which Christmas party we would want to go to. There are 3 going on when we're there: Dec. 16, 18, and 19. Well, the 16th is the day we're supposed to arrive, and after last year's little incident with our flight being cancelled...we're not going to take our chances again. Plus we think it might be a little much since our flight is pretty early in the morning. So that leaves either Dec. 18 or Dec. 19. I know Dad called yesterday to see if there were any discounts for DVC members but unfortunately they don't have them for those dates. Oh well. Hopefully we'll get them soon though because I know how popular MVMCP is and seeing as those are the last ones of the year...I don't want it to turn out that they're all sold out! I'll post when it becomes more official as to when we're going!

The castle looks spectacular in the photos, and no photo can do Disney justice. I always find it hard to explain to people just how lovely it all is - they need to see it for themselves!
I hope you get your tickets for MVMCP ok :worship:

BCV - nice! I am a new DVC member and can't wait to stay there. DH and I are going for a short trip in Dec and staying SSR. Just happy to have found a place - everything was pretty booked up. So we arrive 12/13 for 1 night at POFQ then over to SSR for 3 nights. Wish we could stay longer, but we didn't want to leave the kids any longer than that. Enjoying your pre trip report and hope to start one soon myself.

I am so glad you started a PTR!!! I know that after reading all of ours, you got hooked in. ;) I can't wait to hear more about your trip and planning.

I have some pretty good pics of the castle with the lights, but like other posters have said, pics don't do WDW justice. It's just amazing and must be experienced in person.

I laughed when you mentioned that it was dark for EMH, because that was the weirdest thing for us last year. Prior to our last trip, we'd only gone in the summer. Having it get dark so much earlier, in WDW, felt so different. You have to make sure to get all those outdoor shots earlier. But, at Christmas, it sure is beautiful.

Did you order your MVMCP tickets yet? We can't go this year, since it will be over by the time we arrive. But, last year was so cool!

As for a teaching job :teacher: , I'm still holding onto hope that you will get one, or as you said, at least a long term sub position. Don't forget to look into tutoring, too. Subbing and tutoring my first year out of college helped me IMMENSELY, when I got my position. I know that you and I have chatted on my PTR about teaching, but I had no idea you are Gr. 1-8 and English certified, and I'm an 8th grade English teacher. Too cool. Hang in there! :thumbsup2

Hey, thanks for joining in on my PTR! :)

Yeah, it was so weird going to EMH when it was still dark out but at the same time it almost made it more exciting. I definitely remember riding on the bus and right when we got near the Contemporary you could start to see the castle with the dream lights. :goodvibes

We actually just ordered the party tickets, woo hoo!!  If it's anything like the other parties, it's going to be a blast. What did you enjoy most about it?

Thanks. I just got a call yesterday from the sub finder system and already have my first subbing job of the year for next Tuesday...maybe that will be a sign of good things to come. Yep, I'm certified up to 8th grade but I'm really hoping to find a position in the younger grades. I student taught in a second grade classroom and absolutely loved it. :lovestruc

Return home :sad2:...I guess on the bright side, though, is that Christmas will be 4 days away! hehe

I've also been thinking lately about trying pin trading on this trip. I love collecting pins but have never actually traded. Any info on the whole thing? What have your experiences been like? I think it could be really fun (and as I've read, probably as addicting as buying the pins themselves!) and might give it a shot. I've been looking on ebay for pin lots...I saw one that had 13 pins for $28 and free shipping (but unfortunately somebody won it already  Oh well!). So tell me your pin trading stories and convince me I need to do this! :teeth:

Sounds like a great itinerary so far. I would love to go down around Christmas time, but as long as I have kids that do winter sports it isn't going to happen. My kids have traded pins a couple of times, but I'm no expert and have no advice on that. I am however going to start buying them and putting them up on a cork board. I saw on another post that the diser is a teacher and she uses them as push pins in her classroom. I thought that was clever!:thumbsup2

Hey everyone, just thought I'd give you an update on the teaching situation. A while ago I applied to a couple of teaching positions as an elementary classroom aide. Well, I guess they were filled but then last week I got an email from the district saying that they had an opening for a math aide at one of the elementary schools. I responded to the email saying that I was interested (though I didn't really expect them to call me since I would've thought they'd be looking for someone with a math certification) and then this morning I got a call from the district office saying they would like me to come in for an interview on Friday. :) The only thing is that it is a part-time position where IF I was offered the job I'd only be working a couple of hours every day in the afternoon. They did say that the candidate selected could also sub in the district. While it would be nice to have a job in one place I don't know if I'd be willing to give up working in the other districts where I substitute (because sadly I think this is going to come down to money). :guilty: But, I guess I'll just have to ask about it when I go in for the interview. So we will see what all comes out of this!

Good luck with that sister. I hate making job decisions. I'm hoping to get a part time sub, non teaching, job in our school district. I submitted the application last week and called today to let them know I was still interested. We'll see. I don't have nearly the dilema that you have though. I hope things go well with you and you get what you want.

Well congrats on at least getting an interview. After you wow them then the hard part will come when you have to decide what you want to do. Remember to tell them about your vacation when you interview and that way maybe you can still go even if you take the job.

Holiday Decorations
Obviously any trip to Disney World is special but going around Christmas seems to make it extra special. It's so cool to see WDW all decked out for the holidays, from the parks to the resorts. In fact, some of the resorts almost become attractions in themselves because of the elaborate displays they put up. I was going through some old pictures before and came across these from our trip in December 2005/Jan. 2006. After seeing one of the Samantha Brown shows on the Travel Channel we made it a point to go visit a bunch of the resorts to see their decorations and I hope to do the same on this trip. Enjoy! :)

Great Christmas photos!!!

Someday I'd like to go see the holiday decorations!!!
I guess technically I have, but I was a kid, and there was only MK back then.

Thank you so much. They sure do put in a lot of effort but it looks amazing. Nothing can compare to Disney around the holidays!

I'm glad to be here! You'll LOVE the party. It's hard to pick just one thing I enjoyed most, but here are all the things I loved: I loved getting pics with Santa in the MK, snow on Main Street, the Christmas parade, and the general atmosphere of Christmas excitement!!! It's hard to capture in words how amazing it is. You're actually going to be there on the day of our anniversary. Even though we won't arrive at WDW for a few days later, we'll celebrate there.

:lovestruc

Subbing is great in many ways. You learn how to be a strong teacher, how to take control of the classroom, how to be flexible and you get to try out different ideas. Of course, there are moments I didn't enjoy subbing, like when one kindergartener begins crying over spilling paint on their clothes or having several Michaels, Jennifers, etc. in the classroom at the same time and you have to take them out for recess! Seriously though, I got so much out of my experience.

The cork board idea is great! I wanted to try that in my classroom, but with 8th graders, I didn't want anything to happen to my pins. So, I have a cork board at home with pins in it. :goodvibes

Let us know what you decide. I remember how hard it was to choose what's the best thing to do, while you wait for a full-time position somewhere. I also understand how money can play a large role in your decision. At least you're getting some options dealing with working in education. Things are looking up! :thumbsup2

Oooh, meeting Santa, that would be so much fun!! As much as I enjoyed MNSSHP and the Pirate and Princess Party I think the Christmas one is going to be the best! I loooooove Christmas. :santa:

I know what you mean about subbing. Even though I only did it for half a year I had so many different experiences. Some were good, some were not so good. I had to laugh at the comment about multiple Jennifers and Michaels...when I was in second grade our class had 4 Sarahs, 3 Marks, and 2 Aarons. :scared1: :scared1:

I am supposed to be hearing back from the school either way by the end of the week. As much as I would love to have a job every day and know that it'll be at one place I just don't know. Everyone I've talked to thinks it wouldn't be worth it for several reasons. OHHHHHHHH I hate making big decisions like this!!! :sad2:

OK, so I had my interview yesterday for the math aide position. Overall I think it went pretty well. Unfortunately I couldn't meet the principal...the 2 ladies who conducted the interview said that something just came up in the morning and she couldn't make it. After they asked me the questions they had me do a writing sample answering another question which I thought was different. I have never heard of doing that. :confused3

They told me that they are going to recommend the top 1 or 2 candidates to the principal and then those people will meet with the principal. I should be getting a call from them (either way) by the end of this week.

As for if I'm going to take the job (that is, if I am offered the position!), I am still undecided but I am leaning towards not taking it. :confused3 I've really thought about it and have talked to my parents and then they've talked to other people. Everyone seems to come to the consensus that working for 2 1/2 hours isn't worth it, especially then since I'd have to take my name out of the other districts where I subbed last year. Also, the pay is $14/hour. OK, that's not so bad but I did the math and I'd only be making about $35 for half a day. In one of the districts I subbed in, I got $50 if I only subbed for half a day. Not to mention it is a further drive and when it comes to a full-time job I would rather work in the districts where I've subbed.

Wow, sorry for all that, I'm sure you don't want to read about my job issues!

Anyway, back to the happy news...tomorrow it will be...

I have to agree, given the amount of pay and amount of experience in the classroom that subbing would seem best. Keep us posted.

 OK, that makes sense then! I saw that and was wondering if I missed something. I didn't know what newlans was. LOL. As for new plans, we really haven't done too much. I was thinking about how it would be fun to try another new restaurant on this trip but then I remembered my sister's a pretty picky eater and doesn't eat much of anything. So instead of going somewhere for dinner I may suggest going somewhere for breakfast, like Chef Mickey's maybe (though I'm sure that's pretty popular with families with little kids). We weren't able to go to the ESPN Club in January so we might just plan on eating there one night.

TOP TEN MUST-DOs!!

In honor of reaching the 100-day mark (well...almost ;) ), I thought I'd compile a list of ten things I'd like to do when we go:

::MickeyMo Go miniature golfing
---We wanted to play in May but couldn't fit it in. So we definitely have to go this time! Maybe in keeping with the season we'll play at Winter Summerland.

::MickeyMo Ride Toy Story Mania
---Dad and I were fortunate enough to get to ride on our last trip and had a blast. I can't wait to see how Emma likes it.

::MickeyMo Eat at Beaches and Cream
---I've always wanted to go there and since we'll be at the BCV there's no excuse not to go!

::MickeyMo Play in Stormalong Bay
---I was talking to Emma the other day and said that I'll be really disappointed if it's in the 30s again and we can't swim. That pool is awesome!

::MickeyMo See Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade
---If you didn't read my Dec/Jan. TR from last year, you might not know that we were chosen to be in the parade (we got to ride in the very last car with Mickey!!! We had a blast). So now it holds a special place in our hearts, even if we did have that song stuck in our heads for days. :rotfl:

::MickeyMo See Block Party Bash
---Only caught the end of this in May since TSM was doing previews. Dad and I saw it when we were in Disneyland but it's a really fun show/parade.

::MickeyMo Ride a surrey bike
---It's something that Emma and I keep saying we want to do so badly but we never have actually done it. We think it would be so much fun. :thumbsup2

::MickeyMo Visit the resorts
---It's always fun to see all the decorations they put up for the holidays. I'd like to check out the Yacht Club and Boardwalk since we'll be right there and maybe all the monorail resorts as well.

::MickeyMo Try Mission:Space
---I'm not so sure this will actually happen since I'm kind of a chicken. Though Dad and Emma love it. We'll see...

::MickeyMo Win a dream!
---I have been wanting those dream mouse ears forever...though a dream fast pass wouldn't be bad either. :teeth:

So there ya have it! I'm sure as we get closer to the trip we'll be adding more things to the list.

Thanks, I'm glad you like them!! When will you be going in November? Are you going to do another TR? ;)

I'll be heading down the 13-18 and can't wait! Yup I'll be doing another TR and PTR once my other one is done. I have 2 more days to write about then it's over :(.

Glad your interview went well. I totally agree with you...stay in the district you are now. It's not worth the longer drive plus you would make less money. And if you stay in this district they know what an awesome teacher you are so once a job opens up you would be more inclined to get the job!

Love your top 10! Less than 100 days now! Beaches and cream is on my list too. I've seen pictures of the food on the restraunt board and they make me drool every time! Looks so good!!!!!

Hope you are having a great weekend!!!!! :woohoo: 99 more days!

Hi and :welcome: to my PTR! Yeah, we've been to WDW a few times right after Christmas and it's been great. It'll be even more exciting going before Christmas this time. :dance3: :dance3:

Happy Sunday, everyone!

We are officially at 100 days today!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

And like I said I'm sure that list of must-dos would get longer as we got closer to the dates...and sure enough, I just thought of a couple I forgot to put on there!

::MinnieMo Go on a Disney scavenger hunt
You know all those little details that make Disney World so awesome? Since we've been there so many times now, I thought it would be cool to spend some time looking for hidden Mickeys and other special secrets all over the World. I forgot that Dad had purchased the Hidden Mickeys book and I bought the Passporter's Treasure Hunts book last year.

http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/hiddenmickey.jpg http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/treasurehunts.jpg

Unfortunately we never got around to actually using them. So this time we definitely have to look through them. Both books have lists/clues for locations of hidden Mickeys, etc. at all the parks and resorts. How cool is that?!

::MinnieMo Trade a pin (or two...)
I love collecting pins but have never traded. So I might give it a try. Could be fun!

This may be really dorky of me but I was thinking that because I've been to Disney a total of 13 times now, it might be fun to post an old picture at every ten-day mark starting with today. So here's the first photo! Ahh, memories...:goodvibes :goodvibes

Claire, Emma, and me on our first trip to Disney World in 1991. I was only 5 years old. It's kind of cool because we stayed at the Disney villas on that trip and I'm pretty sure that it's where Saratoga Springs is right now. In a way we've come full circle since SSR is our "home" now. :lovestruc

I would agree that you are probably better off subbing since you'll be making more money. Too bad you're not near me, we need subs every single day! I had to complete a writing sample on a topic related to my subject for my current job during the interview. I thought it was weird, also.

Yeah, one of the districts that I sub in (the same district where I did my student teaching) is pretty big...there's 12 elementary schools alone. I was pretty lucky because once I was done student teaching I was able to get a job for pretty much every day. I'm counting on that happening again this year as the school year progresses!

wdwgirl03

Yesterday we reached the double digits, woo hoo!!:yay: :yay:

98 days to go!

I had my first subbing job today. It was kind of weird because the teacher I was subbing for was only gone in the afternoon so in the morning they didn't really have anything for me to do. I actually went into another room that also had a sub so we did some team teaching. That went well but the afternoon was a different story...those kids were crazy!

Anyway, back to the trip. I mentioned how I hope to do some pin trading this time. I've been checking ebay every so often to see if I could find some deals on pin lots. So today I bought one that I had on my watch list...it has 10 of the cast member/hidden Mickey pins in it for $24.95. I thought that was a pretty good deal, only about $2.50 a pin. It was also nice because it showed what exactly I'd be getting. I can't wait for them to come!

WTG on the pins! I can't wait until they get in so we can see them all! I think I would get too personally attached to any pins I got and I would hate to trade them away. So many people have fun trading them though so I might get into them. Who knows maybe I will give it a try for the trip next October.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend (and thanks for reading!) :wave2: We're off to our last Brewers game of the year this afternoon.

I have those books! I've never gotten around to using them either. I loved the pic. That's a cool idea to go back to Memory Lane as each 10 days goes by. I began buying pins two trips ago, and I can't imagine ever trading the ones I have. I have thought about trading, but I just can't see giving any up.

Getting closer and closer! Subbing can be kind of crazy, but hey, you're learning how to think on your feet and survival.

Great price on the pins. I can't wait to see the ones you ordered!!!

That picture was so cute! :cutie:
It sounds as if it was an interesting experience, your first time subbing - I've worked bank before and it's always hard going in somewhere new for just a short time. But all the experience counts! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
Good luck with the pin trading.

I love your list of things to do!!!
They sound fun and it looks pretty!

We have the Hidden Mickey book too!
This trip will be our first time with it, and I'd almost forgotten about it!

I have been looking at pins on ebay, and have not made a decision yet.
I guess if I'm going to order some I should do it quick.

Your old picture is so cute! :goodvibes
I think its a great idea to post them!
I keep asking my Mom to see the old photos from my trips as a kid, but I guess they are in a box somewhere and she has not looked for them yet. :sad2:

Congrats on double digits!!!:yay:

Oh, I know, Dec. 16 will be here before I know it. And your trip is sooooo close!

Yeah, it was kind of a crazy day but it was nice to be back in the classroom. You have some good days and you have some bad days.

That's cool you have the HM book too. I've looked at it and it seems really interesting. And it'll be fun trying to find some of the Mickeys!

Oh, there's so many pins on ebay it's crazy. I've sort of gotten into those cast member ones since I haven't traded before. But you should get some...there are some pretty good deals out there from decent sellers.

Thank you! It's so much fun looking back at all those old pictures.

I'm loving your PTR so far :cool1:

I hope things come together with your job, must be hard not knowing whether you'll be working or not :confused3

I do hope you enjoy MVMCP, we decided to not do it this year (it'll give us an excuse to go back again another Christmas) as we heard the DVC Merry Member Mixer will be good fun, are you guys going? :santa:

Thanks for posting the Christmas pics, they're awesome As are the older ones - too cute :goodvibes I can't wait to see all the resorts, they go totally to town with the decs :cloud9:

I'm getting so excited now, looks like we may meet a few Disers too I'm trying to keep track of all the people going when we are. Also we may go to a Drink Around The World - prob turning into a crawl - LOL :drinking1

It's amazing how quick the days are going now, weeks just fly by :yay:

Can't wait to hear more about your plans, and see some more pics :woohoo:

Yeah, it is kind of annoying not knowing if I'll have an assignment from day to day. Sometimes I'll get a subbing job for a couple days and sometimes they'll call in advance but most of the time it's phone calls at 5:30 in the morning. :scared1:

I am sooooo excited for MVMCP! We had so much fun at MNSSHP and the Pirate and Princess Party. I'm sure this one will be just as great. I had not heard of the DVC thing until you mentioned it so I did a search on yahoo for it. It sounds like a great time! I'll have to say something to Dad and my sister about that. And keep my eyes peeled for the dates.

Yay, now you have another party to go to when you are down in WDW!
That sucks about the subbing thing being so sporadic and calling so early in the morning like that. I guess getting sick isn't really something you plan for but that is even worse because does that mean that there is no prepared plan for you when you get called in like that?
Just think, three months! Yay! Even crumby subbing jobs fade away when you think about that right??

Yeah, the DVC thing sounds like fun! And I saw everyone gets a free gift too. :thumbsup2 It is annoying when they call so early...I like it much better when they call in advance because teachers have meetings or whatever. As for when they get sick, it's usually not a problem with the plans since they all have the entire week planned ahead of time.

Ahhh 3 months! Seems like forever but I know it'll be here so soon!

Alright, a little update on our trip, and I'm not quite sure how to take this...

We got a call this morning from the airline we are taking saying that there have been some changes to our flights. We were originally scheduled to leave Milwaukee around 9:30 in the morning and then on the return home, our flight was scheduled for 11:00 or so. Now we are going to be leaving a couple hours earlier, at 7:30. The return flight home is also a couple hours later. On the one hand, I'm happy because that means we get into Orlando earlier but on the other hand, it worries me a little. When we first booked the flights they were scheduled for one time, then the airline cancelled a bunch of flights (Orlando ones included) but the one we are on was still going. Then we got a call a few weeks later saying that the times were changed and now they're changing them again! We know that Midwest has been having a lot of problems lately and that there is a chance that we may end up not being able to go because of what's going on. I just hope that we'll be OK and they can hang on until December. Guess we'll have to see...but this is kind of unsettling. :guilty: :scratchin

If the worst happened, how easy is it to get other flights/transport you could get?
It might be worthwhile to check out other options now.
How easy would it be to change to another (more stable) airline?

Thank you! Once they started with all this talk about another airline trying to take over I was thinking about trying to get another flight. I'm not sure what is available right now. Really the only reason we're taking this airline is because we had a couple of free flight vouchers. We'll have to see if there's anything else but honestly the way the airline industry is right now I don't know who to trust. :confused3

Some close-ups. The lot had a nice variety I think.

http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3045.jpg

I also bought a couple extras...I love the parking lot ones. For some reason they just remind me even more of Disney World. :goodvibes
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3041.jpg

So, just as I figured, I am probably not even going to end up trading any of these. I don't think I can bear to give any away! Though I will trade the Mickey dollar one, but that's only because I already have it (unless one of my sisters wants it)! I think that's the way to go with pin trading for me...just get doubles of the same pin so there's no reason to keep them. hehe :teeth:

I think I got a great deal from this seller. The grand total for 12 pins was just over $30. Just think how much 12 pins would cost at WDW.

What a great lot! :thumbsup2 I love the Figment pin with him wrapped around the rainbow :cloud9: (I'm a big Figment fan! :lmao: ) Until you mentioned it, I never realized those last 2 were parking lot-related pins! How clever! I always wondered what that meant :rotfl: I don't blame you for not trading them, I'm also the same way ;) The Magic Kingdom e-ticket one is so rare, never seen that.

Great update! :thumbsup2

I know, isn't it? I also really like the Figment one. So cool! LOL, yup, those are the parking ones. I've got a small collection of those going. :)

Cool pins. :thumbsup2

Thanks. :goodvibes BTW, nice signature. ;)

Hi again everyone! We've reached 90 days !!! :woohoo: :woohoo: I subbed again today at the middle school I went to...I had a great day actually. The kids were pretty awesome. Though I think it helped that it was a late start for them and the classes were only 35 minutes long!

Since we're at 90 days, it's time for another flashback. Get excited. hehe

I love this picture. Remember the good old days with the original Journey Into Imagination? Man do we miss that version. :sad2: On one of our trips we got to meet Dreamfinder and Figment!

hey joining in a little late but better late then never! great TR so far, im really jealous that you're going in December its so perfect in Disney around Christmas time. I already asked my boyfriend if we can go back next Christmas after our trip in April and stay for a few days haha I love all the pictures from when you were little I love looking at our old ones too. Your top 10 list is really good too I'm going to have to steal that I think because there are some things on there that are definitely must do's for us too. Those pins are cool, I have been thinking about getting some but all the ones I have seen are like $6 for a cheap pin. I just feel like thats a lot to spend on a pin for my current financial situation  And trust me I can feel your pain with trying to find a job. I just graduated from Stony Brook University and have had ZERO luck finding a full time job! Good luck finding something though!

Yeah, keep me posted if you hear anything! I don't get why they don't release the dates until November. :scratchin

BTW, I see you have a High School Musical banner in your signature...I love that movie! In fact my sisters and I watched it last night.

I read a thread the other day and the MMM are definately on Thursdays this year :woohoo: - they weren't sure about Christmas day.

And yeah - love HSM, I have the Wii sing along game :goodvibes not that I can sing :rotfl:
I can't wait for the third movie though, we're gonna book tickets to see it in on the 24th Oct (there are previews on the 22nd and 23rd, but I've got work  ), they have screenings as late as 10pm :scared1: so there must be a few adults (other than me) who like it :yay:
I wish I was younger and could do the dances with my friends :dance3:

I love your pins, they're excellent and definately keepers ;) hope you find some more tradable ones!

Ohhh cool! I'll definitely have to keep that in mind, though if they're Thursdays we are going to MVMCP on the Thursday when we're there. So if we did end up going to the DVC thing it'd only be for a little bit. We'll see!

I can't wait for the 3rd movie either...I have already downloaded 2 songs from the new soundtrack on iTunes. I guess every other week or so they're going to put a new one up leading up to the official release of the soundtrack. And my sister saw in the paper the other day that they are already selling tickets for the movie!  Oh yes, and the dances are awesome. :thumbsup2

OK so I have officially (well...not really officially) decided that I will be going to Disney World for my next birthday. I saw on here the theme for 2009 after the YOAMD is over. It says you can get FREE THEME PARK ADMISSION ON YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!!!! This could work well seeing as my birthday is March 12, Dad's is March 14, and Emma's is March 15. :rotfl: It'll save us each a day on our park tickets. :)

Kids and imagination are such a big part of WDW that you would think they would market Figment better.

I definitely agree...the original is by far the best version. That is too funny about the big Figment you got.

It is exciting that we're going to be there so soon even though sometimes it feels like it'll never get here! I called my sister yesterday and something brought up WDW so we started talking about things we want to do and also stories from our past trips. :goodvibes

Well we're down to 86 days until our trip, woo hoo!! :cool1: :cool1: And to help pass the time we're going to go to some events that they're having in the Milwaukee area.

Here's what we have planned so far:

1.) The Disney "What Will You Celebrate?" Tour...October 1
This isn't officially planned but like I said, I think it would be so much fun to go to this. Now I just need for them to announce more details to see if it's possible to go.

2.) Marquette Madness...October 25
The official kickoff of basketball season! We're pretty big sports fans in our family and we have season tickets for MU. I'm going to miss being in the student section though. :sad2:

3.) Tour of Gymnastics Superstars...November 13
Man I am so excited for this! Many of the gymnasts who were in the Olympics are supposed to be there along with a few others. We went to a show like this after the 1996 Olympics (when the women won the gold in Atlanta!) and it was a lot of fun. Can't wait!

4.) Radio City Christmas Spectacular...November 15
It's a little early for a Christmas show, but Mom and Dad went to one a few years ago and they said it was really good. So this year we're all going to go.

So between all of these events and subbing, hopefully the time is going to fly! :dance3:

This will be the first time I've ever "complained" about having a b-day in late July. Holy hot and humid!! Not sure I can take it. But I may have to try!!

Oh yeah, I don't know if I could do Disney in the summer. But hey, being in Disney on your birthday, not much can beat that! ;)

Nice that you've got a list of fun things to do before the 'best thing to do'! :thumbsup2 I'm sure that What Are You Celebrating event will be interesting to see, hey, a little magic goes a long way!! If you do end up going, you'll have to write all about it here! They're not coming to my city.

You guys get all the good stuff

I do love the new promotion though :cloud9: and I'm so glad you don't have to get the free ticket as we'll have AP's.

And we've just found out we'll be going (on both our birthdays :lovestruc ) next year with our two friends  They went to NY for a week or so and them coming next year depended upon if Charlotte was ok flying that far, as she doesn't like flying - I'm so excited :dance3:

I was talking to Emma the other day and I mentioned something about how I would like to go to another new restaurant on this trip. I particularly want to try the Whispering Canyon Cafe...it seems like a blast there! :cool1: :lmao: Emma also thinks it would be fun, so we may try to make an ADR for there (either for lunch or dinner...probably whatever we can get!), though I'm not really sure if anything will be available. No harm in trying though. So stay tuned! popcorn::

Can't believe I'm so far behind:scared1: I was sure I'd posted before now!?! Anyway, all caught up now! Love all the pins, I think that's why I've never started with pin trading, as I would never trade any of them!

:pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: for the ADR at WCC! Keep trying, we managed to get booked in again for dinner in November when we had to cancel all our original ADRs for just now, so I should think you'll be OK. It sounds fab, earthfairies recommended the platter/skillet, and i saw a photo of the cactus margarhitas! I'm havin myself one of them!

Goodluck with going for your birthday next year - what's a little bankrupty between friends? :rotfl:

I also can't wait for HSM3 to come out - I'm more excited than the kids! LOVE LOVE LOVE those films! We're also booked to see HSM and HSM2 on ice in December! 'Soarin...flying!'

On the Disney Channel over here they've started to show the interviews with Vanessa and Zack more to come.
When is the movie out there? Your DC seems so much better (apart from the commercials - we don't have any here (just for other DC shows)) we were watching some New Years videos on You Tube, I'd love one day to be in the States for New Years but only to watch the DC :rotfl:

Hi everyone! :wave2: TGIF! It's been a busy week. I subbed every day for the same teacher (actually...since last Friday and will be going again atleast Monday and Tuesday next week! ) which has been really nice. She's an educational assistant so she goes around and helps out in a bunch of different classes. It was cool getting to know a bunch of the students though I think some of the other teachers are starting to get annoyed that she hasn't been there (atleast it seems like it to me). :confused3 The only bad thing is that now I feel like I'm coming down with a cold. :sad2: But I really like the school and the teachers I've met seem cool. :thumbsup2

Back to the trip:
-We still haven't called about ADRs for the Whispering Canyon Cafe. Gotta get on that...

-With all the subbing I did this week I kind of lost track of how many days we've got to go...but it's 81! That means tomorrow it's time for another stroll down memory lane. Woo hoo! :goodvibes Stay tuned...

Enjoy your weekend!

The countdown reaches 80 days today, woo hoo! That means it's time for another old picture. I thought that in honor of the new celebration being announced, I'd share a picture from a previous celebration...Disney World's 25th anniversary! We went over our spring break in 1997 and got to see the lovely castle cake. I remember thinking it was so cool at the time and then when we went back in 1999 I was kind of mad that it was back to its original glory. Though I have no idea why! :confused3 :rotfl: I remember the parade and the theme song for it..."Remember the Magic." :goodvibes

Happy October, everyone!

Wow, we're getting that much closer to December. Woo hoo! Only 2 1/2 months to go. :cool1:

We still have not called for an ADR at WCC. :headache: I am going to try and do that some time today.

Also, the "What Will You Celebrate?" tour is supposed to be here today. I still have not seen/heard anything else on what time it's supposed to be :confused3 :confused3 so I guess I'm just going to have to go off of the times in the other cities. Good thing downtown is only 15 minutes away and I have to go down there anyway.

On a side note, we have another event to look forward to this weekend! The Brewers are in the playoffs!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: We're all really excited since it's been 26 years since they've last been in the playoffs (meaning my sisters and I weren't even born yet!). This past weekend it was so much fun seeing everyone pumped up. We went to a rally for the team on Monday before they had to leave for Philadelphia. That was fun. :) Since we had partial season tickets we were able to get tickets to the first home game of the series on Saturday. Can't wait!

Hi again...just a shameless bump to the first page. A couple updates:

1.) Still have not called about ADRs. Though now I'm not even sure I want to because guess what happened the other day? You know how our flights have been switched around so many times? Yes, that's right, we got another call that they were switched back to the original times (9:30 am to Orlando).  I'm beginning to think that this trip is not even going to happen. :sad2: I did mention something about switching airlines but we're probably not going to bother. UGHHHH this is just ridiculous.

2.) I did end up going to the "What Will You Celebrate?" Tour on Wednesday. I have to agree with what others have said...it is nothing special. By the time I got there all the balloons were gone. :guilty:

3.) The teacher that I have been subbing for is still out, so I'll be filling in for her again all next week! As I was leaving I ran into the principal and she was telling me how they really want me there and all the teachers she's talked to have been saying I've been doing such a good job. She also told me how they all missed me on Wednesday when I wasn't there. Yesterday one of the third grade teachers asked if I would be back next week but I didn't know at the time (I got called pretty much as soon as I got home). She said she hoped I would be. :) So that felt pretty good...I guess I'm doing something right! :thumbsup2 The only bad thing is that I was called earlier in the week to sub at the school where I student taught on Thursday but now I won't be. I was kind of looking forward to seeing my cooperating teacher/some of the kids again.

Enjoy your weekend!

So this is not directly trip-related, but I went to the mall today with Mom and Emma and the Christmas store was open!  Of course I had to take a peek in there (I loooooove Christmas decorations) and look what I picked up:

The Christmas shop in our town opened a couple of weeks ago!!!! It get earlier every year!

Yeah of course ...... you've been brainwashed ;) Although I think DH would use that as his defense :rotfl: and I'm quite happy to brainwash him :thumbsup2

I agree about Camp Rock, it just doesn't have the same appeal. Did like a couple of songs but it just wasn't musical enough (or half as funny :lmao: Ryan and Sharpay are just the best :worship: ) I'm really looking forward to seeing HSM3, my credit card has been charged and we have 2 tix booked for the 8pm show on the 24th :woohoo: The song they've previewed on DC - with Ryan and Sharpay in pink - looks so cool :yay:

That's my story and I'm sticking to it ;) . we're all really looking forward to HSM3 as well, will need to get tickets when it comes out! I love Sharpay and Ryan, SO funny!

Uh oh! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! And here's some :pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: for luck!

I was talking about going back at Halloween, and Jacob said we need to go at Christmas and see the decorations. Hannah agreed, just not ON Christmas day. She's not taking any chances on missing her gifts. :lmao:

Well, I thought I'd share the couple of pictures I took from the "What Will You Celebrate?" Tour. Like I said, it really was nothing special. All they had was a computer station where you could register your birthday (which you can also do at home...)

http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3099.jpg

They didn't have any more balloons when I got there but they were handing out little "invitations" explaining the new celebration. It looked like this:

http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3104.jpg

Overall it was kind of disappointing. Oh well. If there's going to be one near you, don't go out of your way to get there. Not really worth it. :confused3

69 DAYS!!!

As promised here's my next flashback picture. It's from one of our first visits to the Animal Kingdom when we went over our spring break in 1999. I was so excited when Disney World opened another theme park and some of my favorite attractions are now there, particularly Kilamanjaro Safaris and Dinosaur. I have to say that behind the Magic Kingdom, AK is my second favorite park. I just love the atmosphere and seeing all the animals:thumbsup2 :goodvibes

OK, random post but I also wanted to share some pictures from the Brewers game we went to on Saturday. It was the first time we got to experience a playoff game and it was so exciting! I agree and there is so much to take in at AK. Love it!

Yeah, the Brewers are definitely not the Red Sox so we don't get very many opportunities for postseason baseball. :sad2: We had a 9-game package of tickets for this season so we were lucky to get to go without having to enter the ticket lottery. I just found out today that we also had tickets to the first home game of the NL Championship Series that we'll need to be reimbursed for. :sad2: But it was definitely an experience I won't forget. :)

TGIF! I'm pretty sure I mentioned that I was subbing all week. I'm so happy it's Friday...it was a crazy week. I may have some good news coming...I was talking to one of the teachers and apparently the lady I'm filling in for may end up needing surgery for her knee. She said that I could end up being there for the next 6 weeks. :) It was also sort of interesting because the principal called me and 2 of the other teachers to meet with one of the second grade teachers where we all help. We've been having some issues with what exactly the teacher expects of us when we're in there (let's just say she has a very challenging group of kids) so we got together to talk about it. I still have not heard anything for sure but doesn't that make it seem like I could be there a while?! I mean, why else would I have to go to this meeting? So I guess this could end up being kind of a long-term thing! :thumbsup2 We will see what happens!

Oh yes...did anybody else get the Sleeping Beauty DVD? We just watched it tonight. I seriously don't remember the last time I saw it. Now I have "Once Upon A Dream" stuck in my head. haha

67 days until Disney World!

Happy Monday everyone!

There's no school today so I've got the day off. :cool1: No major updates on the trip yet, but I just talked to Dad and we're still wanting to eat at the Whispering Canyon Cafe so we're going to talk about what we want to do each day. Then we'll try calling to see if there's anything available (I have a feeling there won't be, but you never know!). So stay tuned for our rough itinerary!

I also decided to order some of those custom maps (they are free, after all ;))off the Disney World site so those should be coming soon.

Second, Dad called to see if we could get a reservation for WCC and we were able to get one!  We decided to do it near the end of our trip after we had been to the parks. So we will be eating there on the 20th. :thumbsup2 Here's the updated itinerary (which I'm sure will be changing, especially with all the airline drama  ):

Wow you had a lot of reading for me to catch up on!
I have been singing the Sleeping Beauty song for a week now too. I am so glad they released it!
Oh, and if you do not want to ask for ketchup at WCC just ask where you can buy some chewing gum or wear a Sea World T-Shirt! I have heard both can get good reactions. Oh and there is something about complaining about your straw being short and they bring you a super long one You should do that to anyone who goes to the restroom. Stop the waiter and tell them that your dad/sister needed a new straw because theirs was too short. Then when they come back they will have a funny surprise!
I can't wait to see your pics since we are going to WCC in April.
Oh and by the way it is almost 60 days!!

Stop the waiter and tell them that your dad/sister needed a new straw because theirs was too short. Then when they come back they will have a funny surprise!
I can't wait to see your pics since we are going to WCC in April.
Oh and by the way it is almost 60 days!!

I was so excited when I found out they were releasing Sleeping Beauty. The one for next fall is Snow White so I'm excited about that too (don't know when I last saw that either!).

I am going to have to remember those when we go to WCC. :rotfl:

It is 60 days today!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Good morning! Just thought I'd make a quick post before I head off to school.

::MickeyMo First of all, we're down to 60 days!!!!!! I can't believe it! It seems like I just started my 100-day countdown not that long ago. Here's hoping the next 60 days go by just as fast as these past 40. :dance3: Oh yes, and of course the old picture of the day...

Here's the whole family with "Mom" at the 50's Prime Time Cafe! I thought this one would be appropriate since we just booked at WCC. :) Gotta love all the stuff they do at the PTC. If you've never been there before, you have to try it! We've gotten yelled at a couple times for not eating all our vegetables.

::MickeyMo Dad made reservations for the Magical Express yesterday! Like he said, hopefully we won't have to be calling them back changing our information with the flights a hundred times.

::MickeyMo This isn't trip related, but I bought tickets for High School Musical 3 the other day. My sisters and I are going to go see it next Friday, opening night. I can't wait...one week to go! LOL.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Oh yes...did anybody else get the Sleeping Beauty DVD? We just watched it tonight. I seriously don't remember the last time I saw it. Now I have "Once Upon A Dream" stuck in my head. haha

We have the previous version of Sleeping Beauty. That song does that! The funny thing is I catch Jacob humming it all the time. :lmao:
We don't have snow white though! Guess we will in a year.

Congrats on the subbing job!!! sounds good!

We're going to see HSM at 7:00 our time (Wisconsin is one hour behind Florida). Emma and I were at the bookstore a while ago and they had HSM3 storybooks and we were stupid enough to look at them. Emma said she could read the whole thing and know what happens.

No, we haven't found anything out about our tickets since the last flight change. :confused3 I know some people are probably thinking we're stupid for not trying to find another airline, but seriously, with the economy the way it is right now who knows what's going to happen. Well, my sisters and I just got back from High School Musical 3! I know there's a couple people on here who are planning on seeing it, so I won't give away any spoilers. :) But I will say that it was a very very cute movie. Cheesy (of course!) but a lot of fun. I loved the songs and the dancing. We all had a great time. When Zac Efron first appears all the little girls started screaming. :rotfl: It was pretty funny. It's kind of making me wish my high school life was like East High...:lmao: :lmao: It was also kind of funny because when the show before ours was letting out I saw a couple kids who are members at the country club I worked at over the summer and they noticed me. One said hi but the other one just sort of stared at me, like he knew who I was but couldn't place where he'd seen me before. haha

A while ago I mentioned that I had ordered those customized maps from the Disney World website. It's not like I actually need maps but I thought they'd be kind of fun and hey, they're free, so why not! I got them about a week ago and thought I'd share what they looked like. Gotta love getting Disney mail!

A fun Disney envelope!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3193.jpg

The whole package...complete with stickers to mark favorite attractions. The maps are double-sided.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3195.jpg

You get a whole resort map in addition to a map for each park.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3197.jpg

Disney tips including things like photopass/fastpass and the golf courses.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3198.jpg

You pick your favorite attractions on the website and they highlight them in yellow and then put everything else on as well.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3199.jpg

Here's how they compare to the park map size...they're the same length but bigger in height.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3200.jpg

I also got my first item for the trip...a new Vera Bradley bag! I loooove this pattern so much! This will be my carry-on bag (I don't plan on bringing a lot on the plane with me so this'll be perfect).
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3204.jpg

And last but not least I thought I'd share some of my new Disney ornaments for this year. They're all from Hallmark. So cute!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3039.jpg

http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3181.jpg

Close-up of WALL-E
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3184.jpg

Close-up of the Finding Nemo set
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h172/wfbdukegirl03/100_3185.jpg

I can't wait to hang them on the tree! The Nemo ones will go on the mini tree that I put in my bedroom.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday...it's supposed to get really cold and windy here later. Not fun for the trick-or-treaters! :cold:

Hi DIS friends! I can't believe that it's the end of October already! It's definitely starting to feel like fall here in Wisconsin. It's been pretty chilly the past couple of days...yesterday there were even some snow flurries.  :scared: And of course with the cold weather I feel like I'm starting to get a cold. Let's just say I'm looking forward to having Thursday and Friday off because of Teacher's Convention! :yay:

But, on the positive side...

We've reached 49 days. Yes, only 49 days left until our trip! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: I didn't get a chance yesterday to post another picture for hitting 50 days. But here it is! I don't think I've posted this one yet. This was from about 1993. As you can tell from my signature, we used to stay at the Polynesian all the time. We loved being so close to the Magic Kingdom (and of course being on the monorail loop!) and the resort is just beautiful. One of our favorite things to do was go onto the beach and play in the sand. It was just so much fun! We all would love to stay there again some day. :lovestruc

http://photos-212.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v65/193/8/20305212/n20305212_31604475_7577.jpg

I've also been thinking about more things to add to my list of must-dos. I saw on here a couple days ago that the T-Rex Cafe at Downtown Disney is now open. We ate at the Rainforest Cafe on our trip in May and really enjoyed it so I'd love to eat at the TRC this time. It looks like a blast! Here's the link to the blog if you're interested. :) T-Rex Cafe (http://www.disunplugged.com/2008/10/16/t-rex-restaurant-opens-at-downtown-disney/)

I also saw on the DIS home page all the information about the holiday happenings around Disney World. AHHH I seriously cannot wait any longer! I just love all the decorations and special events. I actually subscribed to a couple of Christmas photo threads to hold me over until we go. ;)

I actually subscribed to a couple of Christmas photo threads to hold me over until we go. ;)

I stepped off the plane this afternoon and I'm already in withdrawal despite being lucky enough to go again in December (who's counting? :rolleyes1 ). I will have to look for Christmas photo threads... any in particular you recommend? I am SO looking forward to seeing WDW in its holiday finery. They did an amazing job with Halloween decorations in the Magic Kingdom so I can't even imagine Christmas. Some Christmas lights were already up (not on) in Hollywood Studios.

Welcome home! I know what you mean about the withdrawl but atleast you are going back again soon! :cool1: The Christmas decorations are pretty amazing...it's so much better in person too. As for the lights at DHS I think those were up in May too...I don't think they ever take down the Osbourne Lights (which when you see them you'll understand why!)! :rotfl:

Here's one thread I found with all sorts of Christmas pictures. They're so much fun to look at.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1572716 There's also one for MVMCP photos if you want me to post that one. I think there might be a couple more on the Theme Parks Community board that I'm not subscribed to.

That is a cute picture.

Thanks. :)

HAPPY ELECTION DAY!!!

Don't forget to vote today if you haven't already! ;)

Ok, so that was my public service announcement for the day. hehe

I haven't updated in a while...not much to report but can you believe it's already November?! I can finally say that we are going to Disney World next month. :teeth:  We're down to 42 days actually. Nothing new on our flights, other than the same flights have started leaving (Midwest is not flying to Orlando year-round anymore...just during certain months) so we are going to start keeping track to see if they've actually gotten off.

I got a little bit of Disney fun in the mail yesterday. Have any of you subscribed to the new Celebrations magazine? I know there have been a lot of complaints on here about how long it's taken (including me) but I finally got it yesterday!!! I've read a bunch of the articles already actually and it's great! It's definitely getting me more pumped for our trip.

Have a great day!

Hi again everyone!
Well it's back to reality. We just had 3 really nice days in a row (I'm talking in the 70s    Who would've thought it's November?!) but now it's raining and supposed to get colder...we might possibly get snow tomorrow.

Anyways...
ONLY 40 DAYS UNTIL DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I can't believe it's coming up so soon, yet at the same time it feels like it's going to take forever. Here's another countdown picture. This one's from 2003 and it's the first time we went in December. We stayed at All Star Sports but had fun visiting the other All Star resorts to take pictures (like this one at ASMovies!).
http://photos-212.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v65/193/8/20305212/n20305212_31604471_6285.jpg

It's kind of funny because after our trip in 2002 over spring break Dad said we probably wouldn't be going to Disney World much anymore. Weeeeell...it's 5 years later and we've taken 3 or 4 trips since then along with the 2 times we went to Disneyland. :goodvibes

I figured that since we're getting so close I'd go ahead and start making lists of the things I want to do at each park.

Magic Kingdom Must-Dos
pluto: Jungle Cruise...was closed for refurbishments in May so we didn't get a chance to ride

pluto: All 3 mountains, or as Stacy likes to say, TRIPLE MOUNTAIN WHAMMY...no visit would be complete without hitting the trio atleast a couple of times. :teeth:

pluto: Meet Tinkerbell! I think it would be cool to meet her and all the other fairies (BTW, I saw the new Tink movie and it was very cute). Though if the waits are as long as I'm hearing I may skip it. I don't feel like waiting in line 2 hours to see a character. :confused3 Heck, we don't even wait in line that long for a ride!

pluto: Ride the railroad...just because it's relaxing and we usually don't do it.

pluto: Try a new treat...OK, so in all the times we've gone to WDW I must admit that I have really never gone into the bakery or the confectionery. :rolleyes1 How sad is that?! So if you have any suggestions on what I should get, feel free to post your favorites!

Have a great night!

Wow, only 40 days! It's getting so close!

I like your list of stuff to do at the Magic Kingdom. I think it's weird, too, that we've never really gone into the bakery or confectionery. I think I've been in the confectionery once.

Yay 39 more days now! Can you believe next month?! :woohoo:

Your MK list looks great. I can't believe you haven't really been into the bakery or the confectionery. If you do go into the bakery they have the BEST chocolate cake and strawberry smoothies! mmmmmmmm :upsidedow So good!

Anyway you are so close. Hope the wait goes by fast for you! :dance3:

Your trip is getting closer! :santa: I liked that All Star Movies picture, that resort (like all of them) is so well themed. Great Must-Do's! Definitely get a snack at Main Street Bakery, you won't regret it! In fact, you might not leave. :lmao:

I love riding the railroad, too! :cloud9: A trip is not complete without it.

Hey, so you finally decided to post again! hehe :teeth: I'm sad you're not coming along but atleast you'll keep Mom company. :)

Yeah, same about the confectionery. I think I've smelled it once or twice. LOL. :rotfl:

I am sooooo excited it is next month! :woohoo: You are just days away!

I know, it is kind of sad we hardly go into either place. I think a couple times Mom has gone into the bakery to get a couple bagels for breakfast while we all go to Space Mountain. But yeah, I've never been in there myself. I'll have to change that...

Me too. I just found out Monday that I am for sure still subbing for the rest of the month and I think the teacher is finally giving into surgery (she didn't want to :confused3 ) so I may be there even longer.

All Star Movies was really well themed. haha, yeah, that is what I'm afraid might happen at the bakery/confectionery!

UGHHH it is raining again here in Wisconsin. :sad2: But a couple bright spots of the day...

At school today we had an all-school movie in the afternoon and guess what the movie was? Monsters Inc! They gave the teachers the afternoon to work on report cards/get ready for conferences so the kids had an easy end of the day. Let me tell you it was quite an experience watching it with dozens of kids. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Then when I got home Dad told me that we got our Magical Express packet today!!! :yay: :dance3: It's really kind of funny because as I was driving home I was thinking we should be getting it soon.

39 days! :cheer2: :cheer2:

That's so cool that you benefitted from Disney, once again! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to get my Magical Express packet. Ours should arrive soon. Now, you're down to 38 days! We have 44 days to go. Isn't this waiting hard?

I haven't been into the bakery or confectionery either. I am going to steal that idea from your must-do list!
