Is Florida tax still 7% and how..........

do I work out how much tax I'll be paying on something. Do I need to take a calculator?

Not 100% certain but I think it depends which county you are in for tax, I know different parts of Disney used to be in different tax bands where they crossed the county border but it was only about .5% or 1% difference.
Just picked 2 random reciepts from this month, Converse and KB toys both show 6.5% tax.
Do you really need to know exact cost? if you can add 10% easily enough you know its on the top side. Somthing at $50 with 10% is $55 in reality you would pay $53.25.
10% would be near enough for me on holiday.
Luckily I can do it in my head after working with VAT at 17.5% for years:goodvibes

An easy way that I have found is to divide the amount by 100 (to get 1%) and then times it by 7.
ie $40.00......divided by 100 is $0.40 and then times by 7 is $2.80

Thank you for the reality check! :crazy: No, I guess I don't really need to know the exact cost and 10% will do - all this forward planning has gone to my head!!

This will be my first trip after discovering DISboards - and we usually just go with the flow - this time will be different!! (I'll let you all know if it was for the better when I return)

Awwww now im jealous I'm dying to go back and see them. Unfortunately its a 6 hr + round trip so I don't get to visit much.
