Here is how we fared for four nights on the DDP. 2 adults and 2 children. Paid $384 for the plan. We ate the following locations:

TS at Captains Galley in the Yacht Club
TS at 1900 Park Fare Breakfast
TS at 1900 Park Fare Dinner
TS at Le Cellier for Lunch (yes...mushroom filet on the lunch menu)

2 CS meals at Sunshine Seasons
5 CS meals at Gasparilla Grill
2 CS meals at Yak and Yeti
3 CS meals at Japan
2 CS credits used at the Patisserie in France (mmm...pastry)
2 CS meals (wasted really) at BC Marketplace before the drive home

2 sodas, 2 pretzels at Germany, 3 cookies at the Studios candy shop, 2 orders of Yak and Yet egg rolls, 2 orders of Yak and Yeti chicken fried rice, a dole whip, an ice cream cookie sandwich, cinnamon roll, carrot cake and strawberry and cream smoothie at Main St bakery rounded out the snacks.

All told we receved $590 worth of food for our $384 DDP, a savings of over $200.

Is the plan as good as it used to be? No. Under the 2007 version we would have saved another $50 we spent on gratuities, and we would have gotten another $30 or so in appetizers. So who would like the 2008 plan as much as the 2007? I won't make excuses for Disney. I don't like the change. I think they reduced the value. However, I can't see cutting off my nose to spite my face and passing on the reduced value plan.....becasue it still is a value.

I know there was so much debate and dicussion when the changes happened, just wanted to let you know what the real impact was to use on our first use of the 2008 version.

Thanks for your take on how it worked for you. The DDP can certainly still be a value if it fits your style of eating.

We would have experienced a loss using the DDP in March, but we eat differently than the plan allows for.

I am glad to hear that it worked for you though - that's what it's there for and I am glad it fits your family! :goodvibes

Thanks! It's always so nice to see a real application of a family using the plan.

If you intend to eat at least one TS per day and use all the credits you still save money over paying OOP - why would I not want to save at least some money just because I no longer save quite as much money? I'm not one to spend more just out of spite. More for souveniers, thanks! :)

You are exactly right! Everyone who can save on the DDP DxDDP and the new quick service plan (next year) should go for it!! :thumbsup2

(Though I don't see where anyone previously said don't use the plan on this thread) :goodvibes

Absolutely, everyone should evaluate their families eating habits and restaurant preferences and then make a decision based on that . Nothing is ever one size fits all, but it is good to see how that worked for the OP.
