Hi All.

Bearing in mind that My stomach is abit weak (albeit large :lmao: ) is the tap water drinkable without boiling it first or would I be better to buy some ?(I hear it is cheaper to buy from the train station)
I plan on taking some cordial to dilute as DLRP don`t seem to do fruit shoots or am I mistaken here?
Cheers

I actually gave DD a glass of tap water from the NPB and she didnt get ill. But i always feel you can never be too careful on drinking water abroad.

I have never seen Fruit shoots on sale in DLP before, which is shame but then again im sure if they did they would cost a fortune lol.

There's nothing at all wrong with the tap water, but you a) may not like it and b) may find that it upsets your stomach simply because it has a different mineral balance to that which you are used to.

We buy bottled water because we don't want to risk it - I am a delicate little flower and any change in water (even going North in the UK) seems to give me a bit of gyp for a day or two.

You will find the water is softer then in the UK, I never have dry skin when i'm out there but I do here due to mainly the water

I suffer really badly with my stomach (IBS bad!)

And drank loads of tap water from our Sequoia sink and also from the taps in the restaurants on the fountains in the park and was fine.

Just my excitement that made me suffer.

I can remember a poster who worked for one of the water boards in the UK posting that it's perfectly safe to drink the water at DLRP, she said that water in France was safe to drink and as all the hotels at DLRP are modern there wouldn't be a problem. She said it's once you start staying in the older hotels ie. in Paris that there could be a problem with old copper pipes etc.

One of my DDs was ill one time and blamed the water although I just think it was one of those things. So we now buy bottled water from either the garage by the Santa Fe or from the Relay shop by the station. You can buy a large bottle for around €0.80 and just pour some into a smaller bottle to take into the parks. Another of my DDs refuses to drink that "bottled muck" :rotfl2: and drinks gallons from the taps in the hotel, asks for tap water in the restaurants and drinks from the fountains and she's never ill ~ I always say she's got a cast-iron stomach!

I'm in the south and we've got really hard water. I seem to spend all my time defurring the kettle! :lmao: My sister lives in Manchester and has much softer water than us but at least it's not as bad as when we go to London. Their water is really yuck.

Give me water with some bite in it any day! :rotfl:

Our is the same, although I would expect it to be because I'm only about 40 minutes down the road from you :)

It's the cornish water that's the really soft stuff, down in the south west. Us true southerners have surprisingly hard water.

I'm thankful for our water filter as I don't like our tap water. My aunt and uncle live a few roads away & they have to filter there water as it is very chalky.
