We 're thinking of getting money put on a FairFX card and I was wondering if anyone has used the card while at WDw and if you had any problems with it.

Yep, used mine all over Orlando in April with no problems at all. Go for it before the rate drops even lower.

Hi!
The Fairfx card seems very popular on here so I decided to get one.
I registered last week and attempted to put some money onto the card but I got a screen that said my transaction had been declined and to either try again or contact my bank. I knew I had the funds so I tried again, still no luck.
So I contacted my bank who said the money is there and available - I can only contact Fairfx via email which is very frustrating waiting for a reply over a large sum of money, they say they have not received the funds, so my bank have 'ring-fenced' two lots of money for Fairfx but Fairfx have not recieved the money which has not effected my actual bank balance but has effected the amount of funds available.......
I've never experienced this type of problem before :sad2: Apparently there is some discrepency over my address :confused3
So at the moment, no-one seems able to help me, very frustrating. On the one hand I'd have to say I'd rather not deal with them again but equally their rates are very good and I do seem to be the only one having a problem with them
Boo hoo - not like me to be posting a negative reply

I had a few small problems getting my Fairfx card registered but I emailed them and had a personal reply from someone called John, included in his reply was a UK (London) phone number to call him if I wanted to talk it over. I spoke to him a couple of times and once the problem was resolved, everything was grand.
Have loaded card a couple of times since and all good. So, email and see if you get a phone number that doesn't cost the earth to call.

Yep, I am in touch with John via email and he has been very helpful this morning in trying to resolve the situation :thumbsup2 but there was no phone number on his email but like I say, he seems to be sorting it for me. Only problem now is that the rate has dropped
Thanks to the OP who gave me that phone number, I'm not too happy about paying 80p a minute :scared1: but thanks anyway :thumbsup2

You get £8.20 back from a new FairFX card if you go via Quidco (and you're entered into a drawing to win £600 in Thomas Cook vouchers).

This is the number I contacted him on 020 7329 7333
As for the rate dropping...well, don't quote me on this, but I ordered £500's worth when the rate was $2 to £1, but because of massive banking issues it was nearly a month later before they actually received the £500 from my account (a whole other story!!) but my $2 to £1 rate was honoured by them, so you might find it will go through at the higher one. But like I said, don't quote me!
eta...if you have a reference number in your email correspondance, tell him that when you call. Makes it easier ;o)

Hmmmm, already asked very nicely if he would honour the rate but the answer was a very nice NO! as the transaction has not actually gone through at all :sad1:

I'll be using mine for the first time in October. I've had no problems activating it or loading it. It's a really great idea. Didn't like my pin number but have changed that now, very simple to do.

I have one and have had no problems at all. Not usedit in Disney yet, but have used it online (park tickets) and topay for my laptop repairs (so £'s) and was surprised the fees were so low.
Both were excepted and went through straight away, despite both people not having heard of Fair FX before.

I didn't realise that it could be used like a credit card in this country!

Yeah. :D I was a bit worried I'd be charged a lot for using it in the UK, but paying a £177 deposit on the tickets took £178 (approx, being as the card is in dollars) off my card, and only pennies for the £70 for my laptop.
Very happy! Although, not much left on the card now lol. I only got it last month so hadn't put much on yet.
Ah well, got a whole year to top it up. :D

Yes,it can but you will have a small charge to use it as it's in $$.I plan on using mine in Oct to book Cinderella's Breakfast for my dd7 for her 8th birthday, and will also be using it to pre-purchase the photopass cd.So as both of these are in $$ there will be no charge.x.
