I just found out that Disney had removed the Enights for may and I was really counting on the 2 nights scheduled during my visit. Since I am on a tight budget I was willing to camp just to get the chance to go. Now I am thinking why not have airconditioning since there is no perk to staying on site.

Can anyone recommend a close cheap hotel?

And what are drive times to WDW really like?

Check out the long post on Country Inn and Suites, Calypso Cay. They have standard rooms for as low as $39.50 with the Entertainment discount. The hotel is brand new and it comes with breakfast and transportation to all the parks. The pool has a slide and the rooms have a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, blow dryer. Also www.valuetrips.com have good prices for them.
