Hi! Newbie Wishes Bride here!

Hey all!

I'm a lurker who finally got around to registering. I couldn't keep my mouth shut anymore! :) I think you guys are going to be my sanity - I've learned so much just from lurking!

I'm planning on a October 12th 2009 (Columbus Day) wedding. I'm a college student (will be in my senior internship at this time), and we get a break that week. I originally wanted to have my wedding in the Caribbean, but with prices being what they are I realized a US wedding will work better. And where else better to have it than my favorite place on Earth? (Sometimes the obvious has to hit me off the head)

I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions, useless commentary, and 2 cents put in. I just wanted to say Hey from up here in Maine, and let you all know that you're already helpful!

We're going to have the ceremony at Boardwalk - Sea Breeze Point. I was originally going to have the reception at the Atlantic Dance Hall, but in my lurking I saw someone's pictures of the Boardwalk Ballroom. It was exactly what I wanted. So now I'm going for the Ballroom. I'm really excited! :yay:

I wonder if we'll need transportation between those two places at the Boardwalk. I've never been there! Anyone? :confused:

My wedding is at SBP also. You don't need any transportation between SBP and the ballrooms. They are just a very short walk away from each other! :thumbsup2

Completely relevant! If anyone has a wedding near May 16th, I would let them know as well! I'm going to remember that on my wedding day. It will be a random fact floating through my nervous mind! :)

Thank you so much for the info! I didn't imagine that it was too much of a hike, but one never knows! I'm not opposed to a good walk - I'm wearing Birkenstock sandals with swarovski crystals. (Hurt my knee playing ice hockey in h.s.- can't wear heels or flats without good support!) But I know many of my guests will be in heels. :)

OOOHHHH You are going to love SBP!!!! It is so beautiful!!! No need for transportation,you can walk there. Be prepared for everybody to oooh and ahhh at you while you are walking on the boardwalk :) You feel like a celebrity lol.
