Anybody know if you have to have your AAA card on hand when you book or can you book and then just bring it with you?

Also, I've heard I can make three requests in order of preference. Anyone know if this is right? Obviously I will make those room requests when I book, but then am I also supposed to fax or call a week or two before to check on those requests?

When calling and making my reservations through Disney, they needed my AAA number and expiration date and I was told to bring my card with me when I checked in or they would not be able to use the AAA discount.

BTW - love your screen name!!

Your information is great as it is current. Guess I'll have to get my AAA card first.
Looks like your first trip? My kids will be going on theirs too. I've been before and of course, love it. Have a great time!
(Screen name is a little outdated, but still was a great run):)

When I made my AAA resv in July, I was not asked for my AAA member number or anything. I made the resv calling Disney directly. I just need to show the number at checkin.

The CMs vary quite a bit in what they ask for and what they can do.

For a room-only, since you can do it directly with Disney, YMMV if you get asked for your AAA number or not. You will definetly may be asked for it at checkin.

For a package, you MUST have the card. Since you can only get the discount by booking a package via a AAA TA.

I booked in July, and had to give Disney my AAA number. Room only reservation.

When I added the AAA discount to my reservation they asked me for the AAA number. Other years they have not asked. One thing that has been consistent is that they have never asked for the card when I checked in. I use it for other hotels as well and none of them have asked for the card either. I have it and could produce it if asked, but no one ever asks.

When I originally booked they wanted my AAA info, and then I had to show it at check in as well.

Mikmouse!
You're right! Never thought of it that way, only of Jarrett.:yay: :yay:
Guess I'm not out of date, after all!

And by the way, thanks for all the replies- I went ahead and ordered the AAA so I will have it either way - I'll just wait till next week when the card comes in the make the Ressie, should be no problem. May call tomorrow anyway, though and see if they'll do it and then just add it next week , if they request it.
