Do you tell the truth when...

they ask at the airport check-in, "Has your luggage been in your control since you packed it?" when you have actually checked it with the Disney bellmen for several hours while you visit the parks on your last day?

What has been the reaction if you've answered, "No"?

Well, I don't have to worry about this since I normally drive and put my luggage in the car.

However, I understand that if you say "no" they are suppose to search your luggage.

I'm sure if you answered no your baggage and possibly you would have to go through a lot of scrutteny(sp)..Before you are alllowed on your plane.

Very good point. We always put locks on all our luggage but you are right and who would ever give it a second thought.:confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

We secure our luggage with locks, zip ties and straps. So even if it's out of our control (i.e. with a bellman) for a period of time, I feel confident saying that it hasn't been out of my control because I'm confident they couldn't get into my bag without my knowing.

Its a matter of safety, not convenience. In a case like this, it is a good idea to go through your luggage before checking it in at the airport so that you can be assured that nothing was put in it without your knowledge and you can truthfully answer "yes" to the question. Or, answer "no", and have the bag inspected and play it safe. The question is asked to insure that you have considered the possibility of something being placed in the bag which could put you and others in danger.

Hmmmm...... Have I been in control of my luggage? That is definitely the problem, my luggage is always out of control. Overpacked, overstuffed, whatever, I have 2 teenaged DD's so there's no control!!! :D:D:D

My family and I were "tagged" for secrutiy because we changed our flights at the airport.... our checked luggage was hand searched (much to my embarrassment since my husband had packed and basicly just crammed everything in the suitcases) Our carry ons were searched before boarding, and we all had to remove our shoes and be physically patted down (the kids too!)

It added about an hour to everything..... I lock our luggage and if they ask me if it has been in my control.... the answer is yes!

While travelling from Atlanta to Houston, I checked oth my suitcases and locked them without thinking about it. When I get my baggs from baggage claim one of the suitcases had the zipper pull broken off in an attempt to unlock the bag. The bag had been gone through, but they did a very good job repacking it. When I questioned somone, they said it was their right to inspect any and all luggage. I wodered outloud why they didn't just cut the lock vs cutting the zipperpull but they could answer that.

Just thought y'all should know.
