Weird Everyday single 12x12 PLEASE SEE POST#238

This is my first time hostessing. If I have missed anything please let me know. Thanks to everyone for being so supportive!!!

Sign ups will be August 31st, 10:00 am est.

This swap is for a single 12x12 completed page in the weird little everyday themes listed below. I also have “flavour” pages. Completed pages have all elements affixed so that the swapper only has to place pictures and journaling to complete the layout.

I will open up new groups when one fills...

If I don’t hear from you for 3 weeks your spots will be angeled.

Since this swap has gotten bigger than originally planned I am moving the Due date to January 30th(that is when I need to receive your package). Please mail packages out by January 23rd.

Because of the size of this swap and it’s proximity to the holidays I thought it would be a good idea to post prototypes to help keep us all on track. Prototypes need to be posted by December 15th. Any prototypes spots not posted by December 15th will be angeled, that way it will give me enough time to either make up for the group or find an angel.

1. Choose a spot that hasn’t been chosen by anyone else.
2. PM me with your DIS name, name, home address, email address, and phone numbers. Email and phone numbers will only be used to follow up if I have not heard from you.
3. Post your weekly status on the Progress thread - which will be posted after the slots are filled. YOU MUST CHECK 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE DUE DATE. IF NOT A PM/EMAIL WILL BE SENT AND IF YOU DO NOT RESPOND IN 48 HOURS, YOUR SPOT WILL BE ANGELED.
4. Check the progress thread for your status - it will be updated with ship info and received info.
5. Packing Instructions - use a 2 1/2 gallon Ziploc for each group. Please label each bag with your name and DISname so we know who made each set. Include $$ to return your items. Include a return self addressed label. Delivery Confirmation is $0.65. PLEASE DON’T SEND METERED OR CLICK-IT/SHIP-IT POSTAGE SOME HOSTESS HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THIS.
6. PM me if you have problems and need to drop out or if an emergency happens (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), let me know so we can make arrangements for an angel or other help if needed.

If there were an elements groups (and the elements were like photomats, journal box, and 1 element), I would sign up for the color groups - maybe 2 or 3 - I would have to check my stash, but would likely be purple and blue, - does pink count as a red?

Journal box: Is an actual box required? or does the layout just have to have a space for journaling (like the 8x8 ABC swap) -- hidden, a tag a shape etc.

I would make the Flavour pages along the same lines as what we all did for the colour swap, with the embellishments being fairly generic.

I would think that because it specifically has butterflies on it would falls into the butterfly group...

That works here! My DD is a hairstylist- right now she has pinkish red hi- lights in her really blonde hair(looks very cute). DS19 just left for a haircut- he is my rocker and his hair is really long. DS 17 had a real mohawk all summer. They are great kids! with wild hair!

Hi everyone,

Because of the size of this swap and it’s proximity to the holidays I thought it would be a good idea to post prototypes to help keep us all on track. I need to receive all of these on time as a large number of people are counting on these pages as holiday gifts so I need to be able to swap them out quickly and get them to everyone before the holidays. Prototypes need to be posted by November 8th. Any prototypes spots not posted by November 15th will be angeled, that way it will give me enough time to either make up for the group or find an angel.

This is the only group I am in with you. I see no reason why she can't help/do the group if she follows our guidelines (which I am sure she will do- the kids swap items we have seen have been very good overall some of them are better than some of us do at times).

Popcorn for yellow is fine for me- I will use it for a page with my puppy begging for and eating popcorn.

I've never seen them so i can't say what they count as, but if somethig is safer unadhered in the mail then I'm fine with it coming separately and you putting a post-it or something saying where you intended to put it.

I know my pieces sometimes become unglued in transit - I think its to do with the handling and the fluctuations in temerature in the hold, as I've not had the same issue with pieces I've done at home (my pages stay stuck OK), and its not only my pieces that sometimes become unglued so its definitely the plane's fault::yes:: (its a particular problem with Bazzil for some reason - I think its because of the weight and/or texture). So I just look for the shiny patches and pop them right back together:thumbsup2

Any prototypes spots not posted by December 15th will be angeled, that way it will give me enough time to either make up for the group or find an angel.

I have questions! There were two groups that were open and they were performance and cats. I will not do cats, dont have any and I like them as long as they are not mine:goodvibes , is everything else full or do you need angels on anything else?
I have no other swaps going at this time and Banana and I have been working on these and we were curious if any angels were needed.

I am also thinking of changing "formal" to theater. Is that ok?
I never thought that a "Black" page would give me such a headache!
But our other 3 groups are great. I just dont want to be the first to post prototypes!

Are you talking about the Black "Flavour" page? I was thinking that these pages would be more generic. Does anyone have thoughts?

Do we have a problem? I can do a generic black page but the other pages were decided a long time ago andwe have been working on them. This is what I have
Yellow-Popcorn them, no wording, except on brads
Green- camping theme, no wording
Black-
Teen Flavor- "Its Only Rock N Rock"

I can go back and find the posts if you like where everyone liked the themes I picked out.

I have alot of black and white paper. Is that OK?

Arizona Rite- They look great. I love the techture of the paper on your camping pages.

As an update on where I am- I pulled out my papers and matched up addtional papers to the backgrouds. i ordered paper for the dog and butterfly pages earlier today. I am going to begin thinking about how I think I want them layed out and then make up my prototypes. I hope to have a couple of prototypes done before my uncle comes to town next Wed for Thanksgiving.

Camping (Green)- I dont want to take the marshmallows/stick out of the wrappers. I think its too fragile so I left it alone and just showed how I invisioned it on the topper and the little tag is not attached to anything so it can be moved.

RNR- Im going to remove the wire and send little bags of wire in case anyone wants to use it or not.

Still struggling a little with Black, but went to Target today and they had some interesting paper and accents. Went in to buy a blowdryer and came out with 2 bags and 80.00 spent! Love Target! DH doesnt!:rotfl2:

So Im thinking that you all like everything and I can move ahead with putting the other pages together?

Oh, one thing more about RNR, I will be using different pop dots, which I think wont be seen as much.

I can do Busted . . . does anyone mind if I use the red paper that says BUSTED in caps across the top and highlight that title instead of making my own topper. I believe it is red although it might be blue but I know my Michael's has a large stack of it.

I can also do teen. I don't need extra time for the due date and wouldn't need much extra time if any on the protypes - it just depends when I make it back to the store to shop.

AR- I have so many concerts and things we have done that I can use the topper from your teen even with the whole page because we keep going to more.

Mine are only so early because I was working to the original date minus 3 weeks for my hand - and its lucky I did as I still can't really use the cutting tools (too much pressure = OUCH! :sad2: ). So I was early for my convenience and I'm fine with that. My control freakish choice:thumbsup2

ETA the paper sounds brilliant to me - no need to worry about letters coming adrift (airmail does that to some of them :headache:
