I love the pictures my friends take with their DSLR's but I'm a camera dummy so I think I need a point and shoot. My current one (HP 7mp something) has such a delay that I miss the shot EVER single time. It's frustating. Especially since we are going to WDW soon. Any recomendations? Nothing too complicated to use would be great!

Many people really like the cameras know as "bridge", "superzoom", "ultrazoom", and probably some other names. They are basically a p&s that has almost all of the same manual controls of a DSLR but with a fixed zoom of 10x or more. Having the manual controls does not mean that you have to use them though. They all have completely auto modes as well. A very popular example is the Canon S5 IS. I have an earlier version, the S2 IS, and originally had the S1 IS. I have since moved up to a DSLR, but the S2 still stays in my bag.

Panasonic TZ5 is a very small camera with a 10X zoom that is another option. I just took it to Disney World and am very happy with the photos I brought back. Here are a couple taken over in Animal Kingdom through a thick glass window. The only post processing I've done is resize them.

Personally I like Canon EOS 40D. This camera surpassed my expectations and then some. Great speed and battery life.

AbsolutLaney,
The OP said they do not want a DSLR, so what was the point of your post?
