Would need to add a 1 day park pass for each person to add the DDP so for 5 nights DDP comes to a little over $1600. Already have some tix so don't really need the extra ticket, but could save one of our non-expiring days fo future.
Here is the initial dining plan:
(Two) BOMA Breakfasts
1900 Park Fair Dinner
Teppon Edo Dinner
Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch)
Wolfgang Puck (dinner)
3 Counter Service breakfast
3 Counter Service lunch/dinner
3 Ice Cream, etc snacks
DDP worth it or no?

Add it up both ways
First plan out your meals with the DDP and subtract out your 1 day park tickets( can't really count those because you will use them later)
Then plan out your meals as if you are paying out of pocket and see which come out cheaper and if you are okay with that plan.

Does the DDP meals work for your family? Do you plan on having a TS daily? Do you prefer apps to desserts? Does everyone in your family order their own dessert? You will have an automatic 18% gratuity added on to each TS bill based on your family size.
Here is a link to the DIS menus (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/disneydining.cfm). Figure out what you would order with DDP, and what you would order w/o the DDP. What is a better value for your family? Also, do you want to make all your ADRs in advance?> Can you get the paces you want?
Just some things to consider. DDP wotks great for some families, not so great for others, only you can decide (and be sure to factor that extra ticket price for each family member in, is that worth it?

You'll be sitting on over $400 in tickets. I can think of a lot of things to do with an extra $400 and not once would giving it to the Mouse to hold be a choice.
Also the ADR list you've chosen aren't the most expensive meals so OOP should be fine.

Nope. You MIGHT break even- lunches and breakfasts aren't a big deal when you have kids w/ you on the plan, but when it's all adults- it's rarely a good deal. Plus you'd need to pay for 1 meal OOP anyway because if you are staying 5 nights, you only get 5 credits, not 6.
Boma $18
Park Fare $32
Teppon Edo $24-41
LTT lunch $16- 28
WP dinner $25- 50
The ticket cost could be saved for a future trip but do you want to reserve over $400 in tickets for the future? It would be silly to use them for an admission on this trip if you already have tickets...they cost too much. The question is will you spend $1100 on food on this trip w/o the DDP? Maybe. Maybe not. Only you can decide. Look at the menus and give it your best guess. CS meals for breakfast run about $8 and for lunch $10-12.

Plus, the mandatory 18% tip on 6 people. I have 6 people going in september and $36 bucks at a buffet for someone to bring me soda, and bus the table, Yikes!!

We are a family of 3 and we always do the DxDP, we have always gotten our money's worth but we use it primarily for dinners and an alternating breakfast or lunch. We like to do the signature dining places and this last trip (11 days) were about $1500 ahead at the end of the trip. We ordered what we would have ordered anyhow.
If you go to inexpensive places, then your value will of course change.

Looks like with the places you will go you will get more than $1,200 worth of food for the six people under the plan, so you would save a few bucks. Whether sitting on $400 worth of tickets makes sense is a different question. If you can use those tickets in the near future it may make sense to do it to save a hundred or two on the food.
As to the previous comment about mandatory 18% gratuities. They don't exist. We used the plan last week and there were no mandatory gratuities that we were required to pay. We left what we felt was appropriate. In many cases the server didn't even point out that the gratuity wasn't included, like it was under the old plan.

The PP was referring to parties of 6 or more dining at a TS restaurant. In those cases, a gratuity is added to the bill.

You are right.....we were only a party of 5. Gratuity is automatically added on parties of 6 or more, and would be when skippers whole party dines together.
