What a balst we had!!! We stayed at the AKL and had a standard view, but when we checked in we had a complimentary upgrade to Savannah View (Room 4455 Zebra Trail). My sister thinks it was because we e-mailed them and complained about no early entry and no e-nights. We were there with family and they were upgraded to pool view (room 2428). It was crowded, but we saw all the parades, Fantasmic, it was great. We would get to the parks early and still leave around 12:30-1:00 go swim and go back to the parks after dinner. We ate at the AKL very good ( make sure you have a PS for Boma because the first night we didn't and the wait was an hour and half, so we made PS for next night. Staff was very nice, rooms clean, bus service excellent and there was alot of stuff for the kids right at the resort. At 1:00 cookie decorating at Boma, Chalk drawings, scavenger hunts, games at the pool, it was alot of fun, I would recommend it to anyone.
Any questions, I'll try to answer them.
Thank you for all the great tips, they really came in handy.

SUNFLOWER93 - DH, DS (14 months) & I are leaving for AKL this tuesday! Did you have a good view of the savanna from your room?

Did you eat at Jiko too? We have a PS for Boma on our 1st night, but weren't sure if we should try Jiko as well.

Cindy :-)

Welcome home! I'll be there with my DGD in October!! Was there a schedule for the extra things for kids at AKL or did you just happen upon them? My DGD(7) would love to do some crafty things! Also, did you ask for the room upgrade or did they just give it to you?

Don't forget to post a trip report when you get rested up!:D

Hi!/ Jambo
Cinjam- we had a great view, we saw Giraffes, Antelopes, Antko buffalo, Tommies and Bongos.
We also ate at Jiko, I had the salmon. It was to die for. My daughter had the steak and potatoes from the children's menu and said it was delicious.

Humprhey- The bus service was very good, we did not wait any longer than 10-15 minutes.

Jennymouse- We did not ask for the upgrade, they just gave it to us.
There was a schedule on the back of the map that shows your room location, it included things such as: storytelling, pelican feeding, games with savanna guides, pool games, flamingo feeding etc.. they were scheduled throughout the day.

It truly is a wonderful place to stay

Wow! I didn't realize they had all those activities for kids! It's going to be hard to pry DGD away to make it to the parks! I can not wait until October 25th!:bounce:
