Does anyone have any quidelines on tipping at the spa?? Is there a certain percentage you should tip for certain services? I really enjoyed the spa last trip and want to make sure we are tipping the right amount . I'm sure Dave or Barb know the correct answer!!!! All other tips are always mentioned at this site but I don't recall ever reading anything about the spa. Just another quick tip question????? Do you all always tip on refills on the beer mugs?? Just "Wonder"ing....... Thanks!!!

I don't know about the mugs as I am not a soda drinker, but we generally tip 20 percent at the spa (a little less for a less hands-on treatment, like the surial). My only complaint is that it's hard to do the math when I stagger out all relaxed and half asleep from a massage or facial!

Someone correct me if I am wrong on this. I believe all drinks purchased includes a gratuity.
If not I owe some bartenders some money.

I always tip for spa services. Generally 20%, 10-15% for less hands on things, just like Barb said.
Barb--I figure out how much the toip needs to be before I even start so that when I come out I do'nt need to think about it.

I believe that 15 percent is automatically added to your bill when purchasing drinks to cover the tip.

My husband was really loopy after his massage. He tipped about 30%.

I've never been on a cruise and I've never been to a spa. The tips that you are talking about, are they added to your room bill or do you tip with cash? I thought I had this all worked out and now you've brought up something I know nothing about...help! (we leave in a month!)

You will receive a charge slip for your treatment, authorizing the cost of the treatment to be charged to your stateroom account. At the bottom of the slip there is a space where you can write in a gratuity and then total the slip... just like a credit card slip in a restaurant.

Thanks for the info. It's hard to guess at what percent you tip for services you don't receive on a regular basis. I think I will definately figure out in advance the 20 or so percent before I go to the spa next time and then not feel unsure. Good advise!!!!!
As far as the tipping on drinks. I always tip additional when ordering in the Lounge etc... Just as you would normally tip in any bar area. My question was specific in regards to the tall beer mug that you purchase and have re-filled each time. Same as the soda mugs but it is the beer mug. There is also a spot for gratuity and just wondered what most people tipped (if any) for a "re-fill". 5 weeks from Saturday and counting the days!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks again for the replies.

We used both of those mugs and NO we did not tip. When I pay $35 for mug I figure the tip is figured in somewhere. With the beer mug it is figured in.
