I probably won't be on much this week, but I didn't foget this swap. My step-dad has Parkinson's and recently got the point where he can't walk all day. So my mom is taking my on their cruise to help her. This is great except. Sun-I work, Tues-classes til 5, Wed-work and classes, Th-test, classes. I leave Fri. Also have to get a week ahead in my classes. I have to get these done before I leave since I will be getting off the boat on the 24th (mail date). Also my uncle who I haven't seen in 3 yrs and my step-brother are in town this weekend. I will get these done by Fri. and will have DH mail them this weekend.

Thank you to everyone for your help in filling these spots. I'm pushing out the due date for this swap to Friday, November 7 to give our angels a bit more time to finish. That would mean a mail date of 10/31 which is 2 weeks from today. Let me know if y'all think you need more time.

There is still one spot open for the Holidays around the Resorts group. Susie had chosen Saratoga Springs but any resort that someone else is not doing will work. Please let me know if you are interested. These were really cute pieces last year.

So I did some reasearch on the Boo to you parade last night. BIG mistake. Kids want to go for halloween now. :scared1:

I said if we went then there would be no presents for chrismtas. 8 yo said ok chrismtas then. 2 1/2 yo Said NO CHRISTMAS DISNEYLAND!! haha. she has since changed her mind. :rotfl:

I scrap 12x12 plus I used that exact same picture in my Boo To You Elements Group 11 for my library pocket and tag. So it would coordinate with that as well.

I have some pretty glittered paper from DCWV; it has a small flower print. Can I cut out and shadow letters to spell FLOWERS? I believe Mischief Managed is doing topper. I tried making a photomat with it but it just didn't work out - -the print is too symetrical.

Is anyone interested in this spot? It's 6 mini-page kits in any resort not already represented in the group. I would be forever grateful if someone could take this spot.

Unfortunately, we don't get rain from the East. Storms would never make it over the Rockies. We are a month late for the rainy season to start and we desperately need the rain. We've had three years of drought and most of the snowmelt from the Sierras has been used up at this point. California exists off of the snowmelt from the winter rain. If we don't get quite a bit this year, we will be in serious trouble. :scared:

went to the Dr,some kind of infection. He gave me an inhaler and an antibiotic. Which of course I can't fill because the insurance will only cover 1/2 of. So tomorrow the pharmacy will call and see if they can change the script.

not sure of the inhaler since I don't have it yet, probably albuteral or asmanex. That one wasn't the problem, it was the Zithromax. He gave a script for 5 500mg pills but the insurance will only pay for 3, the other 2 are $33 a piece. So I told CVS to call my Dr and have him change to the Zpac but the Dr office is already closed for the day.

went to the Dr,some kind of infection. He gave me an inhaler and an antibiotic. Which of course I can't fill because the insurance will only cover 1/2 of. So tomorrow the pharmacy will call and see if they can change the script.

Don't rush deliver. Just send priority and that will be fine. I'm swamped all weekend anyway so I won't be able to swap out anyway. Also, not everyone has mailed yet so don't worry about it.

me too. Why do they do that? it's not like it's some kind of controlled substance. If the DR wants me to take 5 then I would think I need 5 so I'm not back 2 weeks later for more. 66 dollars for 2 pills or 160 for a second Dr visit and then more pills. So much for preventative medicine.

Just a quick update for everyone. DH and I leave tonight for our 2 week trip to DBIL's wedding in Tallahassee and 8 days at WDW.

Unfortunately, I was not able to finish swapping this out to mail before I leave. I was trying to get both the Holiday pages and the Event Swap stuff photographed, swapped out, packaged and labeled. Between prepping swaps, cleaning, doing laundry, shopping for the trip and packing, the Event Swap didn't get finished.

We are getting home on Dec. 15 so I hope to be able to start mailing packages out that weekend. The last package still hasn't arrived but I am assuming that it will come in while we are gone. All of our mail is being held at the P.O. so it should be safe.

Sorry about the delay with swapping. Trip prep has taken more time than I anticipated. Thanks for your patience!

Update: Last package arrived while I was on vacay and we picked it up from the Post Office on Saturday. I'm done swapping out but haven't finished packaging. I feel really uncomfortable mailing this before Christmas due to my P.O.'s propensity for misplacing things which gets even worse when it is busy. My girlfriend in Hawaii sent us a care package on December 1 that my P.O. swears was delivered while we were gone except that all of our mail was being held by the P.O. She and I both had to file a complaint for them to look for it. :rolleyes:

Ideally, I'd really like to mail this after the first of the year but I can do it next Monday, 12/29, if y'all prefer. I just don't want these to get lost after everyone worked so hard on them. I can't even go to a different P.O. because the problem is at the main branch for our city (which just happens to be my local branch.)

That's the problem I'm having. They "say" they delivered the package but they didn't as we had the hold. And we had set the hold up to stop on 12/16 but they wouldn't start delivering again until we picked up our mail. They've never done that before so we are just chalking it up to incompetency. In the meantime, we are now missing two Christmas packages that were supposedly mailed at the first of the month and we haven't received all of the mail from the time it was held. When DH went to pick it up, they told him part of it "had gotten misplaced." I know they are government employees and this is their busy time of year but come on!

This is Shauna's husband. She asked me to post a message for her swap but I don't know where to find that. She had an accident on our trip up the mountain and hurt her back. The doctor gave her meds that caused an interaction with her knee meds. She's been in the hospital since Monday with a severe allergic reaction that closed her airway completely. They have said she might be home today but it could be tomorrow if her breathing doesn't stay regulated.

If someone sees this that is in her swap group, could you please add the note there. She's been worried about mailing packages all week and was very upset when she realized I hadn't come here to update.

When Buffy originally posted it, there was more specific personal information, which I am assuming was asked to be removed, so I won't post those other details. Needless to say, Shauna and her DH are going through a very difficult time right now. The kind that doesn't lend itself to updates on a regular, or even infrequent schedule. There are several of us that would vouch for Shauna, and know the swap will be sent back; she won't disappear forever on us. But I would consider the return on "indefinite hold."

I assume that we should just write this off and assume that we won't be getting this swap back. I know that this is very unfortunate circumstancs for the family, but I have to admit that I may not participate in another swap after this. I guess I hadn't really consider that something like this could happen. A delay or two I figured would happen as life happens, but I didn't expect to not get items swapped out. Of course I don't know exactly what is going on since we have not had an update since January. I understand that when your family is in an emergency this would be the least of your worries.

Shauna emailed today- well emailed me back as I had checked on how she was doing. She is headed into the hospital for a procedure that may very well end in surgery. She has been sick since January as Buiffy mentioned above and they have put this off as her immune system is at about 25% so she will be in a clean room with the surgery.

She wanted us to let everyone know she still has the swap stuff and wants to mail everything as soon as she can but right now she is not able to go out (and of course will be down a bit more with the surgery. Her husband is doing everything else for them and is the only one working as she is on a leave of absence and she hasn't felt like adding more for him to do.

Please continue to keep her in your prayers and know that while it might take awhile she will be mailing everything back- sorted out of course.

I was also thinking about this swap and how we could help her out. I got the idea from one of AWM post yesterday about if something happened to her she would have her DH mail everything to Nan. If someone keeps in contact with her (I no longer have her addy and she is not on the board, so a pm would not get answered) ask her if she would be okay with having her DH put all the swap stuff in a big box and use the money we sent to have it mailed back out(since they are probably watching their money with only her DH working), to help them out and to get all the stuff out of her house and clear some room for her and they she can have it mailed to me or anyone else and I can swap it out. Only thing is if everyone in the swap is okay with resending money to get it shipped back to them. It is a way to help her out and a way for us to receive our items.

So if anyone speaks to Shauna let her know of this idea and I will be gladly to take on the responsibility of getting all put together and sent out. This way she can get this out of her way. I hope my post will not offend anyone. It has been a long time, so maybe she needs a little hand out.

If some one does get a hold of her and she likes the idea and everyone in the swap is willing to send more money to me, so I could mail them out please let me know and I will send my addy to the person who talked to her or to her herself.

I got an e-mail back from Shauna this morning (written late last night). She has been very ill with some additional very serious medical problems. When she is able to get on the Boards after she feels better, I will let her update on the details as she feels comfortable. She said her medical condition may be a little better, but she is still very weak, and her life is still very difficult right now.

Shauna said a friend is going to be visiting this weekend from Hawaii to help her get her house back in order, etc. She told me the first thing on her list is to get the swaps out and they are hoping to do that this weekend. I did tell her about the option of just sending them in a box all to Buffy to sort, etc, but it looks like they are hoping to mail indivudually. Shauna said she or her friend will send a list of confirmation numbers to Buffy via PM when the packages are sent.

She is very sorry for the delay, but her focus was on treating her medical problems. She still has a ways to go on her road to recovery, so she said it would be awhile before she is able to be in Dis, etc.

We may want to wait a few days for the confirmation numbers to be sent to Buffy, before anyone makes contact with her to propose a visit to pick them up next month since she said she is planning to mail this weekend.

I am glad she did get back to you. It was good to hear some news, unfortuntely does not sound like things have improved for her. Maybe with her friend coming in this weekend and helping her get things caught up like she stated she probably will have them in the mail the first of the week and confirmation's sent to BAMB.

Sorry to hear she is not doing any better. She has not been feeling well for such a long time. I feel sorry that things have not gotten better. It has to hard to be feeling so bad for so long. I know just being sick for a few days I cant stand and things get behind for me with house stuff in that short of time. I am glad she has a friend coming in to help her out.

Depending on how things go, I will be in Shauna's neighborhood from Wednesday to the following Sunday. If there are other things that are more important for her to do with her friend I am really very willing and able to pick them up. Just keep me posted. :-)

That's thoughtful of you! Why don't we wait to see how things go this weekend to see if she gets them out. Her friend is going to be there to help her with the house and Shauna isn't well enough to go out and do anything, from what she said in her e-mail. So, it sounds like the plans are to straighten out the house. I did tell her that they could just box the whole swap and send it, too, but didn't hear back about that idea.

The swap is a priority for her when her friend comes in to visit, but honestly I just want her well again. I miss her bunches! I hope she can get the stuff in the mail just so it's off her list, and not stressing her out.

For the Holiday Resort swap group, I got 2 of mine back. I didn't get one of Susie's but am assuming that maybe she didn't send her's in for that group?

Wow, great news to see this swap making its way back home. Thanks to everyone who worked with Shauna to make this happen. I only wish Shauna was well enough to have gotten online herself to let everyone know she was healthy and ready to return to swapping. I miss her too.

Buffy, can you send me my DC number, if you have it. Unfortunately, I don't have my box yet. The last time Shauna tried to mail a swap back to me, it was returned to her because they said my address didn't exist! She said the local distribution center by her is ridiculously incompetent. She had to do some sort of run around, to get them to accept the address. So I am wondering if the same thing happened again. If it did get returned and it takes time to get it out again, I am perfectly fine with that. I just want to have an idea if it is lost in mail some where or in a safe place like her home.

I forgot about the holiday being Sat, so obviously it didn't go out on Sat. It's in the mail now. Don't worry about the cost, even with DC it was less than $2.50. Not worth the $.42 stamp to send anything. I'll PM with the DC number.
