Aloha! We are anxious for ANY reports from recent visitors...How is everything looking? Is landscaping in place (to figure our 'views')? Mostly, does anyone have info on the balconies in comparison to others at DVC?...in preview shots, some look TINY...and we so love to sit out...
Thanks neighbors!:)

I will be at WDW in 5 days, I plan to TRY and snoop, I understand it is really hard to do during the construction phase though so I don't know how much snooping I will be able to do. I will let you know when I get back.

We were at WDW 4/8-4/12 and had to go look at our new home, BCV. I took several pictures but don't know how to post them online. Haven't did any landscaping yet other than trees that were already there. They are working on the pool and pool house and the breezeway, which is a covered walkway between BC and BCV. Not all units have full size balconies. Some just have the small balconies like the BC. Looks like the second floor has the largest balconies at least on the side facing BC entrance.

We will be there in a week and I hope to get a look at it. I'll post back when we return.

We walked over to the BC/YC while we were there over Easter. The entrance to the BCV is right near the store in the BC. It was still boarded up and the CMs in the store were looking forward to it opening up.

We were there just this past Sunday. We toured the models--absolutely beautiful, the prettiest DVC yet, in my opinion. We drove around and pulled into the Beach Club parking lot to see what we could see, to see what we could see, and I was startled at just how close the BCV actually come to the BC Resort. If you were staying in the building that is closest to the BC Resort parking lot, it is just a 1-2 minute walk to get in to the BC Resort. There is still too much construction fencing to let you get close enough to see the pool area. The exteriors looked mostly finished to me, landscaping not completed at this time.
I always knew I would want to own any DVC in this area of Disney World, but the BCV far surpasses anything I could have imagined. I cannot wait for my first stay.

How far it is from the villas to Stormalong Bay?

As a 50-something female, it is a long hike to go in a swimsuit.
Seriously, I think it is a bit of a hike from almost any point of Yacht and Beach area. I don't know if I would consider the hike there for just a quick dip, but maybe for a couple of hours or so. Also keep in mind that I am not a huge fan of walking, either. I am sure there are others that will consider it "just across the way".

Thanks for the quick reply. I was considering switching my ressie at BWV to BCV. My kids love to swim but take frequent trips back to the room. I don't think I want to be walking back and forth to stormalong bay that frequently if it's a long walk. I think will keep the ressie's at BWV this year and consider BCV next year.

Fortunately, we BCV owners should be all set with 24hr access to a quick dip right in front of the Villas with the new quiet pool. I hope it also has a hot tub and a couple of nice pool features to help make it special, maybe a waterfall or bridge or something.
Good point about the walk to Storm Along Bay. Maybe the early closing time will be extended a bit with the BCV addition, or they will add a second access point through the gate at a point a little closer on the BCV trail. I'm hoping that you could walk through the BC at an access point before you reach the lobby area, (I think there is a cooridor that was intended for this, the drawings show an external walkway leading to a non-lobby BC entrance) walk through the hall towards the beach (the one that is behind the store on the Epcot side), head out the door in that hallway and walk along the beach side of the resort until you hit SAB without having to traverse the lobby and CAFE MAY area. This is of course if my memory serves me from the one visit. It would make sense for them to create a usable traffic pattern that didn't add unneeded traffic to the lobbies for pool access, and I think there is a pretty good one. After all, Disney planners are experts at this.
Thanks for the update, info re: BCV and the progress is appreciated.

The quiet pool will have a hot tub - the literature says it will have a capacity of 17!! I don't know of any slides or other cool features at the quiet pool - they are not mentioned.

Just returned last night from WDW. We stayed at AKL, but spent quite a bit of time at BC. They are working on the inside late at night. They were working on the walkway from the BC to the BCV, it is actually closer down the hall then I thought it would be. It looked as if it would be at the end of the one hallway that heads to the store, but it looks as if it will be just before the store entrance (store entrace is on right, BCV walkway to the left), just passed the area at BC for the Disney cruise line (I think that is what is at that desk) They haven't even opened up or created a door at that point yet, it is completely blocked with pictures so you can't see through the windows, but if you go down the hall a bit and then look back, you can see it. I was imagining a walkway with just a covering (top). This is actually completely enclosed with windows (still had the stickers on the windows) and everything. I actually stopped a CM and asked what it was since it was enclosed and I couldn't tell that it was completely attached to the BCV yet, and he told me that it was going to be walkway.
I was not able to snoop around too much because of the construction fences and there was a lot of construction crew. But I can tell you that I did take a good look at the balconly sizes. As far as the width goes they are not as small as the standing room only ones at BC which are the size of one door width which I think is about 4 feet. There are several sizes, but the smallest ones are the size of 2 door widths (one set of sliding glass doors) which I think is about 8 feet or so. I went over to boardwalk that same day and took a look and would say they are the same size as boardwalks. Both have some bigger ones and some that are the size I described above of 2 door widths.
I did look at the models also and they look even better in person. There was someone worried about counter space in the master bedroom bath. There is the sink area and a small amount of conunter space on either side but there is also a small drawer and 2 small shelves on both sides of the sink.
As far as drawer space there is a entertainment center in the studio, living room and master bedroom that all have either 2 large drawers or 4 small drawers. There is also a chest in the master bedroom that has a large drawer in it.
One warning, watch out for the 5-6 foot alligator that is living in the canel in the front of BC/BCV. (My mom has pictures).

If I am looking at the map of the layout:
www.wdwig.com/bcvmap.jpg
where do you think the walkway from BC to BCV starts and ends?
It really won't be that bad of a walk to Storm-a-long, if that walkway takes you right to the area close to the giftshop. In driving around the BC entrance, you could not see the walkway. That will be a really great feature.

I could only see where it started fromm at BC. I would say it starts right where the letter "B" in the word Club is. Just above the F - which denotes where the store is.
I really don't think the walk to SAB will be all that bad. Yes you may have to walk through the BC, but if you go behind the elevators you may not have to walk though the main lobby area.
Personally, I like walking through that lobby. This week after staying at AKL, I really enjoyed coming "home" to BC when we went to Cape May Cafe one morning, we parked in the parking lot at BC and then went to Epcot for awhile (don't tell anyone), later that day when we came back we just walked through the lobby to the parking lot, I really enjoyed the smell when I walked in kind of like a clean, bleachy, clorine smell (I know I am strange). I just had a hard time with the smells of the cooking at Bomas when you walked in AKL.

I gaurantee there is an alligator there. I was over trying to snoop at BCV while my husband and kids were waiting for the bus at the bus stop. While I was walking back there were 2 construction guys relaxing on the grass by the canal. A Beach Club CM walked by and said something like "they better watch out for the alligator there". Well naturally I didn't beleive him. As I walked towards the bus stop I noticed my husband and kids leaning over the wall looking down at the canel and I saw the bus coming so I started walking quicker towards the bus and my huband and kids started running to catch the bus yelling to me that there was an alligator down there. Later that day when we met up with my mom she said to me "guess what I just saw at the BC" I knew by then and so I said "an alligator" and she said yes. I still had not seen the gator and she has a digital camera so when she got back to the room she did show me the pics on the camera at that time it was right by the fountain near the bridge. My parents drove to WDW so they are still on the rode on their way back, I will be happy to e-mail the picture to anyone once they get back and give me a copy of the disk. Since a CM told me about this, I assume BC knows about this.
there is also an alligator at OKW and golfers at DisneyWorld are advised not to go to far in retreiving their golf balls in water areas. There are alligators all over the place in Florida, including Disney properties.

A long while ago I heard a rumor that they were going to put a wave machine in at the Poly for the beach. But, I think that the local wildlife including snakes and alligators helped discourage swimming in the lakes. Although, they still do waterskiing, don't they?

Alligators were in Florida before Mickey! There is wildlife all over the place, we just need to stop and look for it. For example, a limo driver pointed out a bald eagle's nest one time on our way to the resort. It is one of the things I enjoy about our home at DVC.

I've got a few photos up on

They were taken 4/24. I don't have any from inside the construction fence but one is from inside the Beach Club. The doors will lead to a covered breezeway between BC and BCV.

By the way, if you look at the center of TDC Nala's picture titled "bcvconstruct7", check out the area on the roof of the building at the point where it drops from five stories to four. There is an obvious railing along the edge and what appears to be a door, presumably to a stairway (you could also kind of see this on donmil's pictures, too, but not quite as well). I'll bet there'd be a sweet view of Illuminations from up there. Do you think it's possible they would allow viewing from up there?

I've seen that a couple of times as well. Wouldn't that be something wonderful it that was a viewing platform open to BCV guests. That would be a wondeful perk. I hope it materializes. I guess it's all speculation at this point. Except that there definitely is a nice railing indicating an area for people.

So, will DVC'ers staying elsewhere be able to balcony hop to BCV or will that be off limits, too?
If we can't, perhaps we can restict sauna hopping by BCV owners at the OKW lighthouse?!?
That'll show 'em.

Actually, (if our 7 seas lagoon cruise captain told the truth), the poly did have a wave machine. There's an island across from the beach that has a manmade rock face. This is where the wave machine was. It caused too much erosion and the poly had to keep rebuilding the beach. So it was turned off. It was later moved to typhoon lagoon for the wave pool. That's what he told us anyhow....spruce
