*A Family Affair - My 1st trip to Disneyland!*

Hello and welcome to my trip report! I am quite new to this site, as you can tell by my post count, but I am so excited to start my trip report!! I will start off by telling you all who was on the trip!

How this trip came about

Back in June we were all over at my Mom's house for dinner. Bryan and I were talking about how we wanted to go to LA this summer. My aunt and uncle were telling us about their trip to DL last year and how AMAZING it really is! I have always been a Disney nut since I was a little girl. I had the biggest Minnie Mouse collection and Belle was my favourite princess! My Mom called me her Belle and even had that written on birthday cakes and in my cards "Happy Birthday to my Belle". Immediately I was psyched at the idea of doing a family trip there. The only thing is I didn't want to go for my first time without my Mom. After she saw the excitement on my uncle's face (who refers to himself as a grumpy old man) she knew we had to do it!!!! My brother was also in and that was that! We were on our way to start planning our family trip to DISNEYLAND!

The planning

We originally wanted to go in September of this year, but my uncle was so set on seeing Fantasmic, and after finding out it only ran during the summer (according to the website I think!) and ended at the end of August we had to do it before it was done this year! Which meant going in August, meaning more kids and families in the park and longer lines. Oh well! We wanted to see Fantasmic, the show that lights up my uncles eyes! After finding what we thought was a pretty sweet deal that included air, hotel and park hopper passes for 4 nights we booked the trip! We were all planning to leave August 11 and return August 15. After a few days of mulling it over my aunt and uncle decided they wanted to go even earlier as 3 full days in the park was not nearly enough! So the travel agent bumped their trip up and they were to leave on August 9. I was so jealous that they were going earlier, not that I could have went on the 9th anyways as Bryan and I had a very good friends wedding to attend! After a few kinks to work out we were all looking forward to our family vacation!

August 11

I woke that morning so incredibly excited for our trip! Our flight didn't leave until 8pm that night so I had the whole day to pack, clean the house and get ready! My friend Tasha was coming to doggy sit for us so I wanted everything to be super tidy for when she was there. I was so sad to leave my little dog Dash for 4 nights! Thats the longest I have been away from him but I knew he would be in good hands. I had everything ready and I was good to go! Just had to wait for Bryan to come home from work. By this point I was sick to my stomach with pure excitement I thought I was going to throw up! LOL I ate a bunch of soda crackers and that helped to settle my stomach.

I am going to do that when I do my trip. I started taking pics last year, for the purpose of a tr, but never wound up doing it. I think lots of photos will make things easier to remember when I come back to write it. Did you take notes? That's something I'm committed to doing on this trip, each night when we return from the parks.

I'm glad I am starting early too!! I didn't take any notes, I just have a good memory ;) But that is a great idea and maybe I will do it next time!

I don't mind at all!!! The more the merrier ;) And no I am not a dental hygienist. Funny you would ask though as that is what I wanted to do!!! But the inside of people's mouth's :crazy2: Not for me!

August 11th con't....

We arrived late Monday night at 11:15pm. LAX was so dirty compared to the Vancouver airport. Maybe I am just spoiled with such a pretty airport but dirty diapers and abandoned bra's littering the place is just plain EWW! Our bags arrived quite quickly off the plane. I have a great big huge purple hawaiian suitcase that I love and it is easy to spot. Well when I got it this time my entire wheel was ripped off and I had a hole the size of a giant grapefruit in my bag. The only thing that was protecting my clothes from the outside world was a thin layer of nylon. I was not impressed!

We managed to find a shuttle to take us to our hotel. The weird thing though is this family of 3 got on the shuttle and we all assumed they were going to a hotel as well. About 40 mins into our trip the dad turned around to all of us and said "So does anybody else live around here?" Uhhhh??? By this point it is 12:45am and we are exhausted and just want to get to our hotel. My brother, who is quite the smartalec , piped up and said "Umm we have never been here in our life!" Then the guy proceeded to give directions for our hotel shuttle van to drop him at his front door!!! The rest of us in the van were not the least bit impressed. It was me, my husband, my brother, my mom and a very nice British lady. None of us had heard of a hotel shuttle taking people to their house!!!!! Usually a taxi does the trick! Anyways, after that random situation were on our way to our hotel. Thankfully it was only like a 10 minute drive away.

We got to our hotel (Sheraton Anaheim) and checked in. The front desk guy was not friendly at all. I saw my very first Mickey sighting in our lobby and took a picture!

We got the keys to our room and were on our way! Our travel agent screwed up our rooms. My mom and brother wanted their own rooms because they have such different sleeping times and then of course Bryan and I were going to share a room. My Mom was very disappointed by this mistake made by the travel agent. My wonderful husband offered to share the room with Lance so my Mom and I could share a room. It worked out so well because the boys could sleep in and we could be ready to go first thing in the morning! We got to our rooms and it was so awesome that they were adjoining! So it felt like we were all in one big room!

August 12

Our alarm went off at 6:15am for us to get ready for the day. It felt like Christmas morning to me. I woke up right away and went into the bathroom to put it in my contacts while my Mom called my Dad. Oh and for those of you wondering why my Dad wasn't on the trip it's because the thought of Disneyland makes him break out into hives! Small children and crowds are not his idea of a vacation! He was more than happy to stay at home and send us on our happy way!

So this is where I thought "OH NO! THIS IS THE WORST POSSIBLE THING THAT COULD HAPPEN!" I can be a little over dramatic at time ;) I go into the bathroom and put my right contact lens in. I open the left side of the container, dip my finger and pull out half a contact! WTH?! :scared1: Half a contact?! Where did the other half go???? I yell out "OH NO!!!!!!!!" My mom comes running in and I tell her what happened. Of course I did not bring an extra pair. I was totally planning on it but completely forgot! I even thought on the way to the airport "I hope nothing happens to my contacts, I forgot to bring an extra pair!" Thank God I brought my glasses! My Mom called down to the front desk and asked where the closest place to buy contacts were and the lady said Wal-Mart was only a 10 minute drive away. YAY! We were in luck!!!!! The only problem was that I did NOT want to leave Disneyland for the entire time were there. Oh well, I guess 30 mins out of my day was not going to kill me!

We got ready to go and met my aunt and uncle in the front lobby at 7:45 in order to catch the 8:00am shuttle.

Great update! That sucks about your contact. My poor husband lost one of his contacts in the ocean while we were on our Disney Cruise for our honeymoon. It really put a damper on things, especially because he forgot his glasses. Once we got back to Orlando we rushed to Walmart to pick another pair up.

First order of business was to go to City Hall and book our premium seats for Fantasmic. It was a little steep ($59 per person:eek:) but we got the best seats and a yummy dessert buffet tray! The 9:30 show was sold out so we opted for the 10:30!

After that we stopped at the Emporium on the corner to buy our landyards to keep our park hopper passes in as well as whatever fast passes we collected. My brother got right into the pin trading and bought a starter kit right away! After we left the Emporium we turned the corner and there it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE CASTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lovestruc

I handed my camera to someone, I think my uncle, and I insisted on pictures! Even though I was starving and have very low blood sugar I didn't care, I needed pictures!

We stopped for breakfast at the Carnation Cafe. It was so wonderful and everyone was so happy! I was picture happy so I took pictures while we waited the 30 second for our table!

After Breakfast I was so eager to start our day and go explore the Magical World of Disney! First stop, Walt's statue and the castle!

After getting our fast passes we jumped in line for Pirates of the Caribbean. I was so excited to be in line for my very first ride I got a picture with some random people standing in front of it!

I LOVED this ride even though I wasn't crazy about the movie. I could not believe how real everything and everyone looked!!!! This became one of my favourites very quickly!

August 12th con't

After we rode Pirates of the Caribbean we went over to the Haunted Mansion and there was no wait so we got on so quickly!

I really enjoyed this ride. I am not someone for ghost stories and supernatural stuff but I just enjoyed it. Although at the end when it says that a ghost is going to come home with you, I just prayed :D hehehe

After that we went for a ride on Big Thunder I think it's called. That was tons of fun and my Mom's first rollercoaster ride! That one seemed to go by in a blur after all the stuff we had done that morning and I don't even think it was 10:30 at this point!

By this point it had gotten so warm out so we stopped and got some water and McDonalds fries! That was random but neat!

After we were all hydrated up we had to go back to Indiana Jones as it was time for our ride! I LOVED INDIANA JONES!!!! Again, another movie I could care less about seeing, but this ride was friggin' amazing!!!!! My aunt asked the CM to take our pictures in the jeep! We got front row and it was so sweet!! It was so exhilarating I wish we rode it again, but we didn't.

After that I decided I wanted to go to TOON TOWN! So we walked to the train station in New Orleans square and hopped on the train! I was so glad my family had been there before as we would have been lost and wouldn't have known the train would take us to Toon Town!

I loved the narration during the trip! It was so awesome!!! We arrived at Toon Town and it was so amazing!! I felt like I was walking into a cartoon! I loved every short second we spent there!!

I love this photo! I saw the gazebo as soon as we walked in and I knew exactly what kind of pose I wanted to do in it! This picture has quickly become one of my very favourites from the trip!

We left Toon Town and had to make it to Splash Mountain because we had FP's! On our way my Mom wanted a giant pickle so we stopped to grab one and Bryan and I had some veggies and dip! We made a super, and I mean SUPER, fast trip through Critter Country and that was the only time we were there the whole trip! I saw Winnie the Pooh super quick and that was it!

I wish I could remember the exact order of events but this day was sooooo packed full it's hard. But somehow we also had FP's for Grizzly River Run so we went there right after and rode it. It was sweet!!!

After that ride it was around 3:00 so we decided to head back to the hotel for everyone to rest up for a bit while my Mom, me and my aunt went to Wal-mart so I could get some contacts! When we got there I had no problem at all getting some lenses! The girl was sooooo nice and I was able to see again super quick. The best part is she gave me a trial pair so they were FREE!! I was not expecting that at all! We loaded up on some junk food for the boys and a 30 case of beer for my brother and DH and went back to the hotel. My brother and DH were thrilled with the beer. They couldn't believe we paid less than $10 for 30 cans of beer AND that we bought it at Wal-mart! Back home they said that would have been at least $50 and the only place you can by alcohol is at a liquor store!

My Mom and I freshened up and we all hopped on the 5:00pm shuttle back to CA and got in line for California Screamin'!

This is when we met Oscar the chef. He is probably the sweetest man I have ever met! I fell in love with him and so did the rest of my family. More about him later though :)

Aaawww - that's very sweet of you! But go ahead and keep the 2nd pair just in case you lose the other pair or sit on them (like I do to mine :lmao:).

I live in FL and the humidity is crazy for hair! Mine likes to frizz up, but I just discovered Frederic Fekkai's glossing cream and it seems to work great for me (knock on wood, 'cause I just ordered a bunch).

When we got back to the grounds we made our way over to California Screamin'. I have to admit I was a little nervous! So was my mom. She does not do rides but she made a promise to herself before we went that she would do every ride we did at least once! I was so happy to have fast passes as we only waited about 10 mins!

I was so nervous when we made it to the start of the ride. The anticipation is what gets to you!!! But when the count down started in my ear I knew we were about to go! I kept my eyes open the entire ride and was so proud of myself!!! I was sad that it came to an end as I LOVED IT!!!!!!!! Surprisingly SO DID MY MOM! YAY!

We were so close to the Tower of Terror at this point so I wanted to go on it sooooooo bad!!! The wait time was only 20 mins so we thought what the heck! My mom and uncle waited outside for us. My Mom said she would do it the next day.

It was super cool inside this ride! The storyline was amazing and every detail did not go unnoticed! The people in front of us had 3 little kids... and I mean LITTLE! The youngest was 4 and the oldest about 7. I asked the little boy if he was scared and he said no because his dad is pretty scary. LOL. His dad was right there and laughed. I said then he could probably handle it if he can handle his dad ;)

We loaded the elevator and began our journey! This ride was friggin' awesome!!! I am sad to have only done it twice as I could have ridden it ALL DAY!

We all decided to head back to Disneyland for some supper before the fireworks. I really wanted my picture in front of the train station because it was my first day!!! My wonderful husband joined me :)

We walked back through main st. and I said to my family "I will never have a very first day in Disneyland ever again!" It was bittersweet. We made our way down main st and stopped to grab a bite of food at.....

It was terrible!!!!! That was one thing none of us were impressed with was the food!!!! O.M.G.! YUCK-E! It was nothing to write home about, I don't suggest it!! It started to get chilly and we forgot to bring our sweaters from the hotel. My Mom said she would be right back. When she got back she handed me the cutest tinkerbell sweat shirt! I love it!!!!

After dinner Bryan and I decided we wanted to explore a little bit on our own so we took off and headed to Tomorrow Land. On our way there it was the first time I saw the castle all lite up. I was so excited and asked a CM to take our picture. He was so nice and agreed! It's one of my fav's from the trip!

We really wanted to see Honey I Shrunk the Audience. It was ok, but sorta lame and needed to be updated big time!! After that we went to the Star Wars ride. Again, it was ok and needed an update!

After the wonderful fireworks we slowly made our way to our premium seats for Fantasmic! They were awesome!!! We had a personal server who brought us whatever drinks we wanted and we also got a scrumptious dessert tray each!!

Fantasmic was AWESOME! There are no pictures because I was videotaping the whole thing. We all just loved it!!!

Ok I am going to wrap up day 1 pretty quick now! After fantasmic me, my mom, brother and cousin made our way over to Space Mountain because had FP's from 10:45 - 11:45. As tired as we were the 4 of us did it! Again, another amazing ride!! My mom again LOVED IT!!!! She had no idea she loved rollercoasters so much! We both agreed though that because it is Disney we felt safer knowing it was so well maintained!!!

After Space Mountain we walked back and got on the shuttle to take us to our hotel. We were EXHAUSTED!!!!!!!!!! Having a 16 hour day in DL on 4 hours of sleep definitely took it's toll!!!

I'm glad you are still on day one. I like them dragged out, so I can enjoy it for longer! The pictures are great. What was the Tower of Terror like? Is it similar to the stratosphere in Vegas? I like the expression on the lady in the white, in the back row's face. She's the only one who doesn't look as if the ride is phasing her in the least. She looks as calm as could be. It looks like one of the kids in the family you met started freaking out in the front!:scared1: I guess if little kids go on that, I could probably do it. I'm going to try CA Screamin' for the first time. That one looks really fun.

We talked to Oscar a bit on our last trip, but my memory of it is vague. My husband is the one who remembers him. He was talking to my baby. Now I'm going to make a point to find him and get a pic.

My husband hated the food at Rancho Del too, so you aren't alone. I wasn't terribly fond of it, but I didn't hate it. I really like anything though, when it comes to food (w/ the exception of Hungry Bear Restaurant:sick: )

I see Fantasmic has changed the buffet slightly. We got the exact same things, but no grapes or crackers or cheese. I would have loved that the most of all! I'm not big on sweets.

When we woke up the next morning we were all so tired. Like a tired I don't think I have EVER felt before in my life! My mom who always wakes up without an alarm clock slept through the alarm going off twice and my cell phone making noises a few times in the night. Usually if she wakes up she is up! It doesn't matter if it's 2am! Not in Disneyland! She said she figured out how to sleep through the night, walk around non stop for 16 hours a day! Hahaha.

We all got ready to have breakfast with the princess'! I of course was super excited and was dancing around the room like a lunatic! No one understood how I had so much energy after only about 6 hours sleep! I decided to wear my baby blue tank top with the hopes of matching Cinderella! hehehe.

When we got inside we saw ARIEL and she was waiting to greet everyone as they entered. It is after all HER grotto! ;) There were 2 little girls in front of us who were so cute! I wished I was little to meet her, then it wouldn't have been so weird for a grown girl to be so excited! lol. I got a photo with her right away and asked if it was ok that I held my hands the same way as her! She said yes :D

Then everyone all came in for a photo and it turned out really nice so my mom bought the photo package! I just noticed I have my princess hand going on right above Bryan's shoulder!!! hahaha

I was so excited for it to begin! The food they gave us was HORRIBLE! It was comparable to hotel breakfasts that are included with your rate. Pastries and scrambled eggs. For $39 it was a rip off, but you really are paying to take photo's with the Princess'.

After breakfast we all went to grab FP's for Soarin' over California. When we got our FP's my mom, aunt and uncle decided to go for a walk in Downtown Disney because we hadn't seen it yet, and us "kids" wanted to hang out in CA and do a few rides. We went straight to the Mallaboomer (I think thats what it's called) and rode it twice! I loved it so much but I think I was about the only one who loved it so much! haha.

After that hair raising experience we went to a ride that we called the Mouse Trap, but I know thats not what its called. We have a ride back home that is exactly like it called the Mouse Trap. Maybe someone can figure out what its called by this pic.

How scary is Maliboomer? I didn't ride it last time because I thought Tower of Terror was a little too much for me at WDW (I also passed up TOT at DL). Now, I'm committed to riding it and TOT. How do the two compare? I've heard Maliboomer is less scary?!

Maliboomer was my favorite "thrill" ride at the parks. Love that sensation. I think it's more fun than ToT in terms of View and the wind in your face/feet feels great. Obviously, the themeing of ToT is better.

I don't think in terms of "scary" when it comes to Disney. Scary only happens on top of the Stratosphere in LV or on X-cellerator at Knott's. THOSE are scary. Disney is "quaint" in terms of Levels of scary. LOL

By the time they were off it was almost time to meet up with the rest of our party! We met them right out front of SOC and FP'd it to the front! YIPPEE!!

This ride was AMAZING and definitely a favourite! Unfortunately we only rode it once, but thats ok! I'm looking forward to the next time we go to do it again!

By the time we were off the ride my uncle was in so much pain from his chronic kidney stones. He was having a BAD attack, plus his feet were so sore so he went back to the room to rest. He didn't come back to the park for the rest of the day, but he really needed to take it easy. When he went back to the room the girls separated from the boys and we went our own ways while we explored DTD.

Hmmm so where did I leave off? Oh yeah! We had just separated from the boys and were on our own through DTD. We browsed through some of the shops and looked around. It's pretty neat in there! We decided to check out the Disneyland hotel. It is so neat there!!! Next we go we are staying at a DL hotel for sure!!!! We made our way to Goofy's kitchen to check out their menu and see if we want to do breakfast there one day. When we got there they told us to go on in and take a look at the buffet! My Mom and Aunt went right on in and came back saying it was AWESOME!!!!!! They made reservations while my cousin and I took some photo's with Pluto!

August 13th con't

After CS we were all so hungry so we wandered our way to this pizza place. This was when we came in contact with the RUDEST CM (we thought at the time) on our trip! We were placing our order for the BBQ chicken pizza (which btw, was sooooo good!) and they had a bunch of fake plastic food by the cash register. My brother, who is a jokester, looked at it and said "Mmmmm that looks appetizing!" He was totally joking and we all laughed because obviously it didn't look good at all! Fake or not! And the guy at the cash went "Dude! Dude, why? I mean whhhhhhhy?!" He meant why would you say that/touch it. Honestly, Lance was not even doing anything and this guy took the opportunity to talk down to him and embarrass him in front of us. There were a few other snide remarks. OH YEAH!!! Because we were in CA they serve alcohohl, so my mom said to Lance "Do you want a beer?" and Lance said sure, so then the CM asked to see ID. Totally fine, we have no problem with that! So my Mom, who was carrying all the passports, whipped out his pass and showed the guy. The CM said "I need to see a drivers license" He was just saying that to be a complete pain in the A$$! So Lance was trying to get his drivers license out of his wallet even though he is staring at his passport. All the while we were standing there and Lance is feeling more embarrassed by the second because of the way this guy is talking to him. Oh and I forgot to mention he is probably the same age or younger than Lance (who is 21). So my Mom said "Go get a table and I will wait for the pizza". So we did. Lance's mood went south at this point because of that jerks attitude towards him! It was the worst way to be treated in DL after our first day being so wonderful and encountering such NICE CM's! While we were waiting at the table my Mom took a strip off of the guy! She was NOT impressed!!!! I forget everything she said, but she eventually spoke with a manager and soon after he was removed from the floor. We are not people who complain but when you get treated as badly as he treated my brother, you have to say something!!!!! So anyways, our pizza came and it was good! PS - This is not the last time we encountered a rude CM, believe me, the next one is WORSE!

After lunch we made our way over to a Bugs Land! We wanted to see the 3D show and it was AWESOME!!!! Some pictures while we waited for the show to begin!

Ok so I am SUPER choked that everything I had typed out got deleted! But I will try this again and hopefully remember what I wrote.

After a Bugs Land we headed back to the main st in CA and looked through a few stores.

My mom decided that she was going to be brave and wanted to go on the ToT! We made our over there and got in the line! It moved rather quickly and we were on in no time!

After ToT we were just in time for the Aladdin show so we got in line and were in the auditorium in no time! The show was so good! A few of the people in our group fell asleep or began to nodding off. Not because the show wasn't good but because it was dark in there, we were in sitting in cushy seats, and it was the longest period of time we sat all day! It was just relaxing. I didn't fall asleep, but believe me I was tempted to! hahaha. I really enjoyed the humour from the genie and also the flying Aladdin and Jasmine!

After the show we went back to our hotel to freshen up and decide what to do for the night. The boys were going to go to an Anaheim Angels game but plans changed. My mom and I arranged to go for dinner with my aunt, uncle and cousin in the restaurant at our hotel. When we left, the boys were calling around to different car rental companies to see if they could rent a car and go for a cruise around the area! Perfect! They had a plan! While were downstairs eating dinner my Mom gets a call on her cell phone from Lance. He had LOST his landyard with his park hopper pass and all of his trading pins! He had really gotten into the whole pin trading thing that day and even had a pin that was only 1 of 6 made! The park hopper we knew could be replaced because of the bar code on the back and his name would be in the computer. That we weren't worried or upset about! What we were upset about was his pins! Those are irreplaceable! They had tore the room apart looking for the landyard when they decided to head back to DL. There were no cars to rent for the night except a 12 seater utility van, and no young guy wants to be seen in one of those! I always think that nothing has been completely looked through until I have looked through it. So after dinner my mom and I went back to the rooms and looked through EVERYTHING!!!!!! Lance and Bryan had already gone back to DL and to the lost and found to see if anything was turned in. Nothing was turned in and we found nothing either. Thankfully the CM gave him a day pass for that night and told him to come back each morning to see if it was turned in. If not they would just re-issue him a park hopper for each of the days we were there. They were SO NICE about the whole thing!!!! Lance called my Mom and I told us this whole story. I was so glad he was able to get a pass again! By this point I burst into tears because I just wanted my brother to have the best trip possible! And so far this day was not the greatest for him. We think he lost his landyard during Aladdin. That was the last time we remember seeing it. He was showing my Mom and I his pins and we handed it back to him. He was one of the ones who fell asleep during the show and he probably just sat his landyard on his lap instead of putting it back around his neck. Then when we got up to leave it probably just slipped right off his lap. That is about the only explanation we can think of as that was the last time we remember seeing it!

After that was all straightened out, my Mom and I decided to head back to DL. She had such a bad migraine at this point and I asked her if she felt up to going. She said she was not going to let a stupid migraine ruin her trip and the time to spend with me! So off we went!! It was so wonderful to be in DL with my mommie for both of our first times there!!!!

When we got to DL (which by the way was our first time there the whole day!) the fireworks were about to begin. I thought I was so genius by suggesting to book it to Fantasyland to get some good rides in! Little did we know that Fantasyland is pretty much closed during the fireworks. We were however, lucky enough to jump on the tea cups right away! I have always always always wanted to do the tea cups since I was a little girl! It was so awesome to be there with me and my Mom and do this together. I could not imagine my first time there, not being with my Mom!

When the teacups were over we got on the boat for Storybook Land as there was no line. We didn't know what this ride was about, but when we saw no line we thought we should take advantage! Even though we couldn't ride it until the fireworks were finished they let us sit on the boat and we had a pretty nice view of it all from there! I decided to play around with the fireworks setting on my camera and I actually got a few really nice shots!

Oh my gosh I didn't know that people noticed my poses like that! LOL. That is too cute that you and your daughter did a little photo shoot! Tell her she is a natural in front of the camera and my fav is #2 also ;) My mom tells me that I was always a ham in the camera.

And that totally makes sense about muffling the noise rather than protecting people from... well... you know! (Don't want to say it again!)

He started trading pins with other CM's. If you ask to trade pins they can not say no!!! So he lucked out and got a super rare one! He also had one from the Disneyland in Paris!

Maybe that guy was having a bad day but why be rude from the very start?! He hadn't even said hello at this point!!! I also loved my Minnie ears and wish I could wear them back home *sigh* I guess I have to wait until my next trip! I only saw them at the one store where I bought them and it was in the DL hotel.

I have a Canon Powershot SD450 Digital Elph and it is 5.0 mega pixels. It has a fireworks setting, but you have to be SUPER steady and actually balance it on something because it has a long shutter speed. I balanced it on the boat and thats how I managed to get those pics.

I have worn my croc flip flops more, just for walking the dog... but I would definitely wear my pink ones around. They were fun to have in DL!

I'm so happy that my pictures are totally in order because it helps me remember what we did next!

After the fireworks my Mom and I decided to just hang out in Fantasyland. It was a little hard to navigate our way around in the dark and a few times we wandered away by accident and had a loooong detour to get back! Oh well. We decided to be little kids and do all the kiddie rides that we could!

We got in line for Dumbo as it was only about a 20 minute wait. It actually turned into a longer wait because the CM running this ride was such a clown and held it up! We started talking with a dad and his little girl that were in line behind us. She was adorable and looked like a little princess! That was when we noticed this CM flirting with any group of 2 ladies! He seriously was holding up the line and people were getting impatient! The little girl behind us started to fall asleep on her dad's shoulder and her dad was getting so ticked at this CM for being such a goof ball!!!!! Finally the ride started and we were next to get on. When this CM started to hand out the plastic feathers, he was handing them out to everyone in the line and not saying a word to anyone as he did it. Fine with me! So when he gets to me I just wait there for my feather assuming he will do the same thing to us as he did with everyone else and hand it to us and walk away. NOPE! When I put my hand out he said to me in this creepy, yet maybe his way of flirting?, way.. "Are you always this demanding, Princess?" I was a little stunned and embarrassed because now it was me holding up the line, fumbling my words around to give him an answer! So I said "No, you were just handing them out so I was ready to take it." Then he says "You really need to try smiling a bit more, Princess!" Then I said "Just give me the feather!" He looks at my Mom and says "Wow, does your sister ever smile, Princess? You need to smile too, Princess!!!" (She was happy he thought we were sister! haha) So my Mom looked at him and gave him a "are you happy now?!" kind of grin. We got our stupid feather and got on the ride. The dad that was behind us said to my Mom and I "That was very strange and he is weird!!!!" So then we got on the ride and waited for him to then come around and collect the stupid feather! Argh! Another interaction from this creep-o! So when he came around my Mom was on the outside of Dumbo and she just put the feather in the air and he said "You're still not smiling Princess!" and walked away. We seriously wanted to get off that ride so fast! We couldn't understand why they would put Mr. Creep-o on a KIDDIE ride of all rides!!!!!!!! He was crazy! So watch out for KALAN when you go to DL and ride Dumbo!

When we got back to the room Bryan and Lance met us shortly after. The next morning was a magic morning and we could have been there at 7am. We decided we would get there at our usual time of 8am and enjoy our sleep! My aunt, uncle and Sierra ended up doing the magic morning and we met them later on.

He stayed and chatted for so long and was telling us all about the years he has worked at Disneyland and that he is retiring this fall. He told us to come back later that day or the next day and he would give me the magazine he was talking about. I seriously wanted him to be my Grandpa, and when he looked at me and talked he had tears in eyes. Even though we had just met, I felt a real strong connection with him and when he told me he loved me, I knew he meant it. I know that sounds so weird, but when you meet someone with such a sweet spirit as this man, you will understand. Thankfully this was not the last time we would see him!!!!

After breakfast we didn't really have much planned. We sort of wandered around in some of the shops on Main St. and looked at all of the neat things. It was such a gorgeous morning, and it felt so nice just knowing we were still at Disneyland! I was sad that it was our last FULL day there though. We still had Friday morning and half of the afternoon.

When I was playing with the little Pinocchio dancing machine, I felt a warm tap on my shoulder. It was Oscar! :love: He came into the store and saw my mom. She told him how much he meant to me and that we loved that we got the chance to meet him. She even told him how I wished he was my Grandpa. She said he got tears in his eyes and wanted to come find me. So when he did I was so happy!!! He just gave me a few hugs and then went on his way. :lovestruc

As we walked on our merry way around Main St. we were just taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the happiest place on earth!!!

THEN!!!!!!!! I SAW!!!!!!!! MINNIE MOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took off and got right in line with her! I didn't care how long the line was, I was getting my picture with Minnie Mouse and I was so happy that I even had my ears on! My Mom couldn't find me, but I could see her, so I started waving my arms and she finally saw me. She came over and was like "You're soooo cute!!!!!!" I was thrilled to get a photo with MINNIE MOUSE! THE Minnie Mouse!

When I got up to see her I told that I have loved her since I was a little girl. Cheesy coming from a 24 year old, but whatever! She gave me a hug!

Pluto was taking photo's with guests somewhere else, but then he ran over and jumped in my picture with Minnie! The photo pass guy took a lot of good photo's but I am not going to pay $60 for a CD with them on it.

I was on :cloud9: and wanted to take more pictures with characters. I went over to the Donald Duck line, but the CM said it was closed and he was leaving soon. Darnit! Mickey's line wasn't too bad so we opted for that one! Right before it was our turn he had to go, but he walked down the line and took pictures with us.

We got in line for Dumbo as it was only about a 20 minute wait. It actually turned into a longer wait because the CM running this ride was such a clown and held it up! We started talking with a dad and his little girl that were in line behind us. She was adorable and looked like a little princess! That was when we noticed this CM flirting with any group of 2 ladies! He seriously was holding up the line and people were getting impatient! The little girl behind us started to fall asleep on her dad's shoulder and her dad was getting so ticked at this CM for being such a goof ball!!!!! Finally the ride started and we were next to get on. When this CM started to hand out the plastic feathers, he was handing them out to everyone in the line and not saying a word to anyone as he did it. Fine with me! So when he gets to me I just wait there for my feather assuming he will do the same thing to us as he did with everyone else and hand it to us and walk away. NOPE! When I put my hand out he said to me in this creepy, yet maybe his way of flirting?, way.. "Are you always this demanding, Princess?" I was a little stunned and embarrassed because now it was me holding up the line, fumbling my words around to give him an answer! So I said "No, you were just handing them out so I was ready to take it." Then he says "You really need to try smiling a bit more, Princess!" Then I said "Just give me the feather!" He looks at my Mom and says "Wow, does your sister ever smile, Princess? You need to smile too, Princess!!!" (She was happy he thought we were sister! haha) So my Mom looked at him and gave him a "are you happy now?!" kind of grin. We got our stupid feather and got on the ride. The dad that was behind us said to my Mom and I "That was very strange and he is weird!!!!" So then we got on the ride and waited for him to then come around and collect the stupid feather! Argh! Another interaction from this creep-o! So when he came around my Mom was on the outside of Dumbo and she just put the feather in the air and he said "You're still not smiling Princess!" and walked away. We seriously wanted to get off that ride so fast! We couldn't understand why they would put Mr. Creep-o on a KIDDIE ride of all rides!!!!!!!! He was crazy! So watch out for KALAN when you go to DL and ride Dumbo!

Great trip report so far and I'm really enjoying reading it. But I was struck by this entry. I hate people like this that think they're funny and fail to perceive that they're ruining your day by creepiness. Yuck.

We jumped in a super short line to ride the Toy Story ride. It was pretty fun!!
