I don't know if this is a one time thing or not, but I wanted to let you all know. On March 23 I made reservasions for Country Inn at Calypso Cay through Valuetrips. I received a comformation letter and number and it even said that it was guaranteed with my charge card #..... so I thought everything was taken care of. Today, eight days before we arrive, I decided to call and comfirm my reservation. Country Inn had my name (last name only) and when I'm expected to arrive, room rate and preference, and length of stay. They DID NOT have my credit card number SO I DID NOT have a room RESERVED! If someone else needed a room they could have given them MINE! Moral: ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, CALL and CONFIRM your reservations! And then call again before you leave to make sure you'll have someplace to stay when you arrive! I don't know if this is how Valuetrip operates or if this is a mistake by Country Inn. Has anyone else had this happen to them? :confused:

Last year we booked Buena Vista Suites through a phone number on Dreams Unlimited site. We called to confirm with BVS and they didn't have the information at all. I guess all the rooms DU had reserved in that name or something. A few days before our arrival date, BVS finally was showing something on their computer.

We stayed in Orlando last summer. I had booked through a discount site. When we arrived the front desk explained that they did not have my cc # because the discounter actually pays them, (I paid the discounter). The discounter's confirmation had said not to call the hotel directly for this very reason. Maybe that's how valuetrips works, too.

I had the sort of the same thing happen with quikbook. I got a confirmation from them but not the hotel. Luckily, quikbook was able to straighten it out. So, Yes always make sure you call the hotel and get a written confirmation!!!

I booked a room through valuetrips and called Calypso Cay to confirm and they had my reservation but it was for King Suite, not a kid's suite. They did change it for me, but if I wouldn't have called and checked my son would have been very disappointed!
