Let's say you were a family of 4 traveling to WDW, which includes 2 little boys, ages 3 and 5, who behave very well at restaurants and are used to going out to eat once a week. Of the three following restaurants, if you had to choose ONE to use 2 TS credits for dinner (between 5PM and 6PM), which one would it be and why? Or would you choose none of them because you do not think a dinner is worth 2 TS credits?
-Cinderella's Royal Table
-Flying Fish Cafe
-Yachtsman's Steakhouse
Now let me tell you what I am thinking and why I am torn...this is for a trip pretty far in the future, but still, I am always thinking ahead and I am aware things can change, especially at Disney. However, like I said, I like to think ahead and I find this fun too! ;) Anyway, I thought of CRT because even though I have boys, there are only characters in the lobby at dinner and it would be a wonderful experience to eat IN the castle. I thought of Flying Fish Cafe because we are going to buy a DVC membership with BWV as our home resort, so we would be within walking distance of both of these Signature restaurants.

I would say Yachtsmans.
CRT just isn't worth it in my opinion you get a photo with Cinderella which might not matter much to you since you have boys and the Castle is fun but not woth the 2 TS IMHO because it's a preplated meal and I always felt rushed. They have a schedule to get people in and out because of the "floor show"

CRT is not a good value IMHO. They have found a way to max the price and move the herds in and out quickly. The quality that was once here is no longer.
Both Flying Fish and Yachtman's are well worth the credits. Yachtman's is great if you love steaks adn FLying Fish for Seafood. Decide which is more appealling to you.

I know it's not on your short list but if you want fun for 2 TS credits and something everyone will like, take the time to go to Hoop-Dee-Doo. We love it after several visits. It's really worth it;) . I have also have not enjoyed CRT as much after our last visit. Good Luck!!

I would vote for Yachtsmen's because my family loves, or should I say LOVES!, their steaks. But being the Yachtsmen's, it's kind of low-key and staid. If you are looking for fun I'd also say go for Hoop De Do Revue.

What time do they do Hoop-Dee-Doo? Which resort does this take place? This would be nice on a day we did not go to a theme park because it is still upbeat and fun. How is the food? They include beer at this right?

I would say either Yachtsmans or FF. CRT is definitely not worth 2TS. Last time my family ate at CRT we were rushed and the food was just okay. Our meals came out before we had finished our appetizers. Our last 2 meals at YS and FF were fantastic. Service at both was wonderful and we were not rushed (we had a break between each course).

I would take my kids to the Hoop De Doo Review instead of any of your choices. It is all you can eat fried chicken, ribs, cornbread, corn, salad and stawberry shortcake for dessert. Beer and wine are included for mom and dad. The show is so much fun. All of you would have a great time.

It is at 5, 7:15, and 9:30. It is at the Ft Wilderness Campground, only a short walk away from the marina. The food is pretty good, I had the ribs which were great with some very nice mashed potatoes, and they also serve beans, fried chicken and cornbread, along with strawberry shortcake for dessert. It is all-you-can-eat, and tips and gratuities are already included. Some beer and wine choices are included, but bottled beer costs extra. The food, sevice, and show were all great, much better in our family's opinion than other dinner shows we've been to like Arabian Nights.

CRT does NOT have very good food, IMO. We ate at Yachtsman and Flying Fish earlier this month and they were both outstanding. :)

We at at CRT in March for my newphew's 4th birthday dinner. He really enjoyed the show. We thought it was loud and kind of cooky. The food has really gone down hill at CRT IMO. My DH and I were engaged there in 2005. The atmosphere was totally different. My DH evern commented that he was glad all the commotion wasn't going on when he proposed. The food didn't seem to be as good as then either.

I do not think that CRT is worth 2 credits, you can get a much better value for your credits somewhere else and then if you really want to eat in the castle.. pay out of pocket for that meal.

I really hope we enjoy CRT, because we are using 2 credits there for my birthday and I have been really excited about this meal!

CRT has been a park favorite for so many years but I don't feel like the food is the big draw. When I used to be a travel agent selling WDW I explained to clients, your really paying for for the experience for being in the castle with so all phot ops available. The food was decent but not great. It is worth doing if your kids are really in to the princess and castle area. It's worth a try. If not, I would do 2 TS credit elsewhere.

If it's food quaility....Yachtsman. I know I'm in the minority but, I do love CRT. The dinner menu is better than lunch and not as rushed. The Fairy Godmother does have a show and as far as Disney Magic....the Castle is pretty special. My DGK love it! CRT's convenience...inside the park...is another plus.

We ate at Flying Fish a couple weeks ago and it was hands down the best Disney Dining we did all week. It was worth every bit of 2 ts credits. Hubby had their signature snapper. I actually had a steak that I'm still drooling over! It was one of the best steaks I have ever had.
Also the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. Our service was outstanding. We were there for 2 hours and I can't tell you were the time went, it just flew by!
Good luck!

We have been to the World more than 30 times and we have yet to eat at The Coral Reef restaurant. We keep saying we're going to, but some how we keep picking different ones and forgetting about this one. After your great report, we just have to go there. We will be there this coming July with our kids and grandkids and I think it sounds like a perfect place to have a great dinner with them.
