'06 Nanas: When we were on St. Thomas, there was a group of us that had a picture taken at the top of the mountain. If you have that picture can you please e-mail it to me? Also, need a pic of Tiara Bob & The Dreamboats (preferably one from the 2nd song when Mikey joined in). Thanks.
This request scares me!:scared1:

We will be at WDW the week after also!
We figure if we are going to spend a whole day traveling to Florida we might as well stay a while ;)
We may need to plan a meet for all the 2 year olds :)
Ya, we thought the same thing.....if we're going that far we might as well do it all while we're there! :thumbsup2

I am going on the 11/29 disney cruise. This is our first time on this cruise. We have been to disney world a million times and wanted to do something different. Can anyone give me any information about this cruise ? I have 3 kids who will also be on the cruise ages 2,9,11. Any suggestions on things we should do ? Any tips. Is the boat crowded ?
Welcome Nicole:cheer2: :cheer2: I am Lorna traveling with Dh John and 2 DD Jordyn (12) and Madison (9) Our kids are close in age. Do you have boys or girls?

Okay, I know I should already know the answer to this but I'm asking anyway: I need to look into getting transportation to the Radisson and back to the airport on the 6th. What companies should I consider? Rental car prices are outrageous!!!!
We are either using Happy Limo or renting a car. We are traveling with friends, so we are trying to figure out the best price. Our plane gets in at 9:30 Firday morning. What time do you get in?
firemans wife
09-04-2008, 08:15 PM
Kim, Sue and I are using Happy Limo.....what day are you flying in? If you want to split some of the cost, let me know, we can maybe work something out.
Denise
Denise when do you guys fly in? We are thinking of using Happy Limo too. There are 8 of us traveling together. We fly in at 9:30 Firday morning

for those thinking of Happy Limo, we had a very bad experience with them in 06. Wouldn't recommend them at all.
Hey Nanas
I'm still pretty loopy but doing okay. Doc changed me from vicodin to tylenol with codeine to help with the cough.
Hope everyone had a great day.

Good Night
Good morning everyone.
Alex and I are really sick. We though it was just horrible allergies for him but then I have been miserable for the last two days. I cant wait for them to go to school so I can go back to bed.
I finished New Moon last night on what felt like my death dead but I had to finish it. I was so close. :goodvibes
NICOLE I will be traveling with my parents and my family I have twin boys age 8. This will be the first Disney cruise for us all. Well Rick and the boys went but Rick was n the room green the whole week and didn't even got to eat anywhere much less enjoy the ship and the boys were only three and don't remember anything. Its also a surprise for them.

Good morning Nana Nation.
Well, it looks as though Va Beach will miss the worst of the storm. We are only expected to get winds of up to 34 mph tomorrow afternoon. The rain will head in today around 1:00 and continue through Sunday am. The problem we have here is the ground is so soft. So, any amount of wind mixed with all that rain causes our pine trees to drop like flies which take out cars, roofs and power lines. But, 34 mph winds should leaves us pretty well intact. Just have to secure the pool area and take in the umbrellas, etc.
We shouldn't have any Starbucks closing either but just to be safe; I am going to hit the liquor store:rolleyes1 After all, tequila is the answer for everything.........

I had a cousin that had allergies really bad also and nothing worked on him either.
He went and saw an allergy specialist and they gave him some kind of shot that he takes every 6 weeks or so during allergy season and it took care of him......not sure if you've look into or tried that or not?

Hi to everybody. I'm home today; got some injections for my Crohn's disease from a home health nurse. Hubby stayed home with me for moral support (I hate needles!) It is raining and nasty outside (remnants of Hanna.) We are pretty worried about Ike. I sure hope it turns away.
I've posted this before, but ya'll please tell me some of the excursions you are doing.
Also, what fun "adult" activities are there on board. I think we've missed some of them on our other DCL cruises.

Hi Lisa,
Personally I don't know what our family is doing yet. My wife and I sat down last night and tried to figure out what excursions to take..........:confused3
I think Key West we're just going to walk around and see the sites.....possibly snorkel?
Grand Caymon......so far Stingray city is winning, but haven't ruled out 7 mile beach........my oldest son and I may try the "discover scuba" excursion?
Cozumel....my wife wants to do Tulum, but I just don't know if I'll have the strength to drag 4 kids (ages 13, 8, 4, 2) through all that???? :scared:
I'm leaning more toward Chakannab beach myself.
Castaway cay....parasailing and then just going with the flow, snorkel, jet ski, what ever looks good to me?! :woohoo:
We're open to any suggestions for must do excursion as well?! :thumbsup2

We would like to do the Palo's brunch too, but I don't know which day would be the best. I'm sure we'll eat there one night for dinner, and I've heard that you definitely don't want to do brunch and dinner the same day! Also, I try to get chocolate souffle from there almost every night! YUM! I hope they have got some better coffee this time. Do any of you bring your own coffee? Do they have a coffee bar? Do they have coffee cards like some ships have?

When I got in to Palo on Tuesday, everything was booked except dinner for 1 - 2 people. A few have said that there is usually reservations available when you get on the ship.

Hi Okie. The biggest challenge right now is that I went into surgery with a cold and cough and now it hurts like H*ll when I cough. Doc just changed out vicodin to tylenol with codeine to help knock that out of me too. But wow I thought I was loopy on the vicodin. This is just making me want to sleep 24/7.
But I can feel that I'm getting better every day. I guess I was being a bit impatient to think I'd be back working and functioning again by now. most people who have this surgery report at least a week and mostly 2 weeks before they feel good enough to begin working again. So I have decided to give it whatever time my body says it needs so that this doesn't interfere with any upcoming plans (such as a cruise).

Thanks for the info.
Lisa and Steve
The only excusion we have booked through Disney is the Fury Catamaran sail on Cozumel. We have a charter in Grand Caymand and of course Trey Drunk Tour of Key West.
There is lot of fun stuff to do at night. They have cabaret type shows almost every night followed by a theme dance party. They also have adult games shows. My absolute favorite is Magic Quest. Oh and we can't forget about karaoke:thumbsup2
Cozumel....my wife wants to do Tulum, but I just don't know if I'll have the strength to drag 4 kids (ages 13, 8, 4, 2) through all that???? :scared:
I'm leaning more toward Chakannab beach myself.
C:thumbsup2
Greg - Doing anything on the mainland in Mexico is VERY tough as I have read. Lots of people get sick on the rough ride over to the mainland. And Tulum is a ton of walking, lots of steps, very hot. It's quite impressive - we did it before kids during a Cancun vacation years ago - but I really can't imagine doing it until my kids are both older. Just my two cents.

I'm watching our 12:00 news. They show Ike putting a hurtin on the Bahamas and the Keys. I hope Castaway Cay will be okay, and Key West. I'm sure they will have a lot of cleanup to do, no matter what.
Hanna is giving us a lot more wind and rain than expected. They are worried about beach erosion in Cocoa Beach and Daytona Beach. At least it doesn't seem like Hanna will sit on top of us like Fay did. Of course, the surfers are out anyway!

No coffee bar, but they have the Quiet Cove Cafe which sells speciality coffee's and a lattie's not sure of that spelling but anyway they do speciality coffee's and hot cocoa and pastries. They do charge, not sur ehow much but my DD said it was less thanherlocal Starbucks.
Also coffee is available at the drink station 24/7 although I have been told its NOT very good. I am not a coffee drinker myself, so I dont have a personal experience with it. My DD said the Quiet Cove coffee's were very good!!

good to see you posting today.
I know it's frustrating being so sleepy but its a good thing to sleep alot right now. That way your body can use all its energy to focus and getting better.

Hey Jeff, that's what I keep telling my wife. We went to Chichen Itza several years ago and took the ferry over from Cozumel and it was hot and allot of walking, like you said. It was just Janel and I then and I remember how difficult and tiring it was!! :scared1: :scared1:

Greg, just a heads up. You might check on the snorkel excursion in Key West that you are going way out rather than close to the shores. #1 they don't have soft beaches, #2 rumor has it they can dump sewage about 2 miles off shore. So something about a t**d in a punchbowl comes to mind. Just wanted to give you a warning.

We are flying in friday morning but dont arrive until 11:30am

We also used Happy Limo in 06 and had just the opposite, a very good experiance and even free upgrades....

Hi Nanas-Hope everyone is having a good Friday. Not sure what we are doing tomorrow yet. It is my FIL birthday, so we may be going to dinner with him:confused3 Sunday we have a party to go to. TTYL
I have a Cruise Document question. If I print out everything here and for some reason by the time we get to Fl and then a week later get ready for the cruise and it comes up missing can I print them again or is it a one time thing?
mom x4,grandma x4
09-05-2008, 02:57 PM
Thats a good question Marie, not sure but if you decide to print it off, then i f you have a scanner, scan an extra copy and pack in a different place or save the scan to your computer, so if you can get to a computer with aprinter you could print off an extra copy. Library or some where, Office Max??
Then you would be safe no matter what.
i fyou dont have a scanner, you could go to the drugstore and make a copy for 10 cents most places.
make 2 or 3 copies if you want, pack them all in different places or send a copy to another nanahead to keep for you, just in case and then send a copy to your mom and dad to pack too.

Hi Shell.
I did not nap enough today and am really feeling it. I tried to do a little work to no avail and decided I just have to wait until next week to even try.
I know this has already been discussed here (or at least I assume it has) but I am really happy about DCL adding the flat screen TVs. They imply they will be placed better too. The way the TVs were meant that we couldn't really see it from the bed when the girls were in the bunks unless we finangled the curtain - and even then it was almost impossible. Wonder where they will be placed...
Come out people and play. I probably have 20 minutes before I fade and go to bed. I wanna hear what's going on in your worlds.

Hey Lorna - Please tell your daughters that Elizabeth never got the message that they sent and I will find it and get her to respond to it. It came at a busy time and right before vacation and then when we got back I had this surgery to prepare for and forgot. For some reason I just remembered and will track it down on the computer and have her send a response. Totally dad's fault. Not hers.

Thanks for asking Terri! Doing okay. I feel more like myself every day but am really struck by how tired I am all the time. I've never had surgery before and had heard from people who had the same procedure that they were completely out of it for about a week and then still had to nap for a couple of weeks after that. I, of course, said, that'll never happen to me. Eating those words now but sleep FEELS so good - which is also odd for me as I'm usually a bit of an insomniac or at best a light sleeper. Starbucks isn't even impacting it! :rotfl:

I don't know how we did in soccer! Long story short...coach (whom we have seen at least 4x this week) forgot to tell us that the game started at 8 instead of 9 so we were 45 minutes late! He had called everyone else and he thought that he had told us already! :confused3
Cute footage of Duesey! He really likes that squeaky ball!
Jeff, don't push yourself too much. You'll end up making the recovery time longer!
Terri, how did you fair through Hanna? NC and VA hope you don't flood too bad. This last July we had 3" of rain in a couple of hours so I got just a tiny taste of what that amount of rain can do!

Hello Nanas! So far Hanna has been pretty kind to us here. We've had some minor flooding due to blocked drainage structures and a dozen or so traffic signal outages. If that's all my department gets we'll be celebrating!

Wendy, I hope you guys get your power back soon. One of the previous storms knocked power out here for over a week and people were just miserable. We never knew how much we take everything electrical for granted until it was gone. Hang in there gal!!!

A Bichon Frise, and he's a tough cookie. Not a sissy little dog. But I miss my big black lab we had for 12 years.

Terri, it's a mix. Just add a bottle of beer. Go to www.tastefullysimple.com and search for beer bread.

Yeah my doberman does not like to play fetch or ball either....one time me and my ex-were throwing the ball back and forth to each other....and every time we did we would say...Jack get the ball....at one point we dropped the ball....he got up went over and picked up the ball and went behind the chair and laid on it:lmao: I guess he was done playing...it was really funny tho...
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Guess he showed you!
Jack will only shake with his right paw....will not give you his left for anything....really kinda funny.....
A true righty. Probably going to vote for McCain :rotfl2:
