I am noticing that on several of the TS menus, the kids' picks only list a choice of salad or chicken soup. My toddlers won't eat either of these, but they would eat fruit or a cooked vegetable. Has anyone had any experience of a restaurant allowing their kids to get fruit or a vegetable? A diet of macaroni and cheese and ice cream sundaes just doesn't seem that healthy (not that my two daughters would mind!) And a salad and soup just don't seem very "child friendly"!!!

Several restaurants did let my nephews substitute fruit for the "appetizer".

The restaurants are usually really accomidating for the little kids. I would think that the server would jump to replace the Chicken Soup with some fruit for a toddler! Just think of that mess!

I was really pleased in July. Most of the TS restaurants had a pre-plated kid's meal that included all the basic food groups. At 50s Prime Time it was a grilled chicken breast, pasta with red sauce, fresh fruit cut up, and yogurt, and green beans. At Coral Reef it was white fish with rice, fruit, and ?. These were really good and included a lot of food. A la Carte kid food was also available, but these were better! It seemed that each TS restaurant had something themed to the restaurant.

There were usually two pre-selected meals with specific sides (i.e. chicken, yogurt with fruit, cooked veggies) and then the kid picks where you pick two sides and an entree from a limited list of options that were usually different from the sides that came with the pre-selected meals. IME, I never had a problem when I asked if I my son could have the entree from the kids pick list, but with the sides displayed with the pre-selected meals. He doesn't really eat salad or soup either, so cooked veggies and cut fruit were preferred. We mixed and matched without issue. Cut fruit and mixed cooked vegetables were almost always on an option. At CRT, they even gave him his hot dog with fruit, veggies, and mashed potatoes. :thumbsup2

When we went in January we were not able to substitute fruit for the appetizer, the only thing they would let us add was french fries for the appetizer, since if you will notice most of the kids meals don't list a side.
