This is Chapter #10 of the BOB threads.

If you're new to our group, you're not alone. Several of us have sailed together before (on the 10/20/07 Western Cruise - a.k.a. Konked Kruisers) and several more are new. To indicate the ones new to the group, we have put an * infront of their DIS name. There are 13 new DISers and 19 returning KKers.

The following is the same as the other first posts. For those of you new to our DIS Meet thread - WELCOME. There is plenty of good info in this post.

As usual, I'll be back here to update this post periodically. I will try to keep important information up here for all to reference as well as for all our new friends who come to cruise with us. If something of importance comes up, PM me and I will add the link.

We have dubbed this cruise "The Bash on the Boat" because so many people are celebrating birthdays or anniversaries on this cruise. You will also see "KK2" in the title. As you will read, many of us just sailed together on the 10/20/07 Western Cruise. So, with many of us returning here, we are dubbing this KK2. For those of you who didn't sail with us, please don't feel that you are not part of the group. We are a very open and welcoming/friendly bunch. We had such a great cruise last time, but feel it will be even better this time. Come along and enjoy the fun. We will get off-topic many times over the next 2 years, but it is a great way to get to know everyone.

First, here is the list of Characters:

* 2Princes_&_1Princess = Brandee and Justin and their 3 kids. Florida.
A Fat English Gent = Chirs and Hazel and their 3 kids. England.

Walt & Di = Walt and Di (pretty easy to remember that one). Texas.

I will try to update that list as we go. If I forgot anyone or if you want different info posted, please PM me. I will NOT be putting room numbers up on this post.

A good place to start for planning this trip would be Cass' website. She has done a great job to organize almost everything you'll need for this cruise and posting here on the BOB board. Here is the link to her site: http://www.cassworld.ca/bobers.htm

Here are links to posts that we found important through this and the previous 2 threads.

Incase anyone is wondering what the FO game we play here on the B.O.B. cruise meets thread, Jen gave a good explanation of the game:
FO is a game (for lack of a better description) that was started on the Konked Kruiser thread that some of us belonged to for the October 07 cruise. Don't ask me who started it or how, I joined that threead late.

Anyway, the game in a nutshell....if you post, and your post is the beginning of a page, then you try to get the second post on the page also. It means you have started a "Fresh One" or "First One" (I forget what the actual term was).

Now, this isn't always as easy as it seems - if there are multiple posters on at the same time, and someone else gets the second post, you don't get to "claim the FO". The 40 second rule between postings comes into play.

We had decided to stop playing this little game when the DIS instituted limits on the lengths of threads....but old habits die hard, I guess, because some of us still try to claim our FO's (I am guilty!). So, play, or ignore, either one is fine! We're all just about having fun and being fans of DCL one way or another here.

We're hanging them on the Fish outside of our cabin doors next year. A bunch of us are playing DIStag and will leave behind little gifts for the other participants. If you'd like to play with us, just contact either Karen (Karen Mouse) or Jen (millerpjm) and they'll add you to the list. I believe we have a link to the instructions that we used last year on Andy's first post.

Check it out. I've played it twice now and just loved it!!

Grand Floridian for us too. We've only tried two others though. Port Orleans French Quarter and Caribbean Beach Resort. I think we've stayed there 6 or 7 times now. We just can't break away from them. ;)

Stayed in the french quarter in May. Wasn't impressed. It was dirty and run down compared to the others. Did like the food court wasn't very crowded.

Sorry, I always go to the PM's first people. That's why, if you have a question, shoot me a PM.

Anyhow, it is a bit cool today, which is what I thought it would be the first day. The sea temps I think are only 77 in this part of the ocean, so not too warm. Water is calm and we're moving pretty good.

The BOB group is having a great time together. Our assistant server was off her game big time last night. I'll try to post more later (what I will do is type in Word off of the DIS and then copy and paste).

We have the 500 minute package ($150) so I will check in on the sea days. Have some good pictures already (I'll see if I can get them uploaded - may need Andy's help if it takes too long ;) ).

Here's the funny thing, I'll drop $150 to get an internet connection but am hemming and hawwing on a $250 watch. :sad2: I think I may have it bought by this evening (formal night).

Anyhow, I'll check back later. Again, PM me important stuff because I won't have time to read it all.

P.S. The Darkside is as annoying as we thought. Not all of them, but mainly the core group. And the "captain", I think any comments will be "*" out. :sad2:

Wow, my first post on thread 10 and it's on page 8??? :scared1: I'm falling way, way behind in the post counts...;) I also haven't caught up on the end of thread 9...hope I didn't miss anything important!

Well, we didn't have the castle view, but the Grand Floridian was my first taste of WDW! Matthew and I stayed there on our honeymoon in 1989! It was an amazing experience for this then 22 year old!

I would love to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Hopefully I can talk Matthew into booking us into the DVC rooms on one of our future trips! We didn't want to add points there because that would split them into 3 resorts (We have points from Old Key West... which was the ONLY DVC site when we bought!... and Beach Club Villas)

To answer a few questions.

Weirdest food eaten on a cruise? Don't eat weird food. EVER!

Look forward to food on cruise? Watermelon and ice cream.

Resort of my dreams? Definitely Grand Floridian. Can't wait to stay there.

I forgot about these questions from the end of the last thread!

I agree with the first...if I think it is weird, I'm not likely to eat it! BUT we tried watermelon soup on our first cruise (the Med!) and it was great! I wish they would add it to their regular cruises.

Looking forward to food? Anything. I don't get to eat as much cuisine in real life!

My one and only trip to WDW we stayed at the Contemporary in the Garden wing (I think it's the one they tore down/are tearing down) and it was really nice. I loved being on the monorail!

We should have got that little train thingy that took you there:rolleyes: - someone on the main board said it was easily walkable  - they lied:rotfl:

Neil had the added bonus of carrying Ellis most of the way there too. :lmao: - we should have been smart like Jen and left him on the ship to play with Thomas.

Well, our playroom / garage is finally finished. Neil put the skirting board on today and we've had a good sort out - it looks really nice now.

Ellis has a 28" tv in there for his playstation, a golf game, a punchbag to practice his karate, his snooker/football table and all his bikes, skateboards etc too. Its a proper playroom now rather than a dumping ground for junk:goodvibes

I hope he's keeping well away from that floozie Big Red:eek:

Hey everyone, I'm back. It's been a crazy summer, but I think it is coming to an end. My neice's wedding which both of the kids were in, was just this last weekend, and that was the last big event of the summer. So with school starting in a couple of weeks, our summer is drawing to an end. Hope everyone is well, and will fill me in on any new news. To any new families, WELCOME. I see our BOBers are enjoying themselves on the REPO. Wish it were me, but glad they give us updates. Though it is getting closer to our trip in '09.

To answer a few questions.

Weirdest food eaten on a cruise? Don't eat weird food. EVER!

Look forward to food on cruise? Watermelon and ice cream.

Resort of my dreams? Definitely Grand Floridian. Can't wait to stay there.

Resort? I always thought the Dolphin/Swan looked beautiful.

Food onboard? All of it! DH usually tries both entrees.

Weirdest food? It's been awhile. I usually try something new at each meal. Something that I've never heard of or never even tried to make.

The only stipulation we've made this year is that it has to be small(ish). People so far have suggested keyrings, fridge magnets, xmas ornaments, homemade cd's, pens, that sort of thing. Last year mine took up half a suitcase on the way out and the gifts took about the same on the return.

Due to every airline clamping down on weight etc we decided to keep it small this year.

I think you're already on the Tag list - maybe Lori put your name down?

Anyone else want to play? Any newbies to the thread want to put your name down? I seem to remember someone suggested closing it at about 30ish?

God help the 2012 olympics - if the weather is like this the whole thing will be cancelled:sad2:

Not much happening here today.... Ellis and I are going shopping for Neils birthday party stuff. Ellis has decided Daddy should have a party - he chose the menu - chicken nuggets, pizza, sandwiches, crisps, jelly, icecream and birthday cake!:lmao: We're gonna get banners, balloons etc and do a proper kids party for him:lmao: Might even do pass the parcel or musical chairs:lmao:

What did you have? One of my favorites is a meatless enchilada that I actually just make myself. Tortilla (La Tortilla makes some where you get 2 for only 1 WW point), 1/2 c Fat Free Refried Beans, salsa, enchilada sauce. Roll up and top with Fat Free Cheddar and jalepeno. Bake for 20 min at 375 and top with lettuce, more salsa and FF Sour cream. YUMMY!!!!!!

I don't think we'll be able to close at 30ish the way this thread is going....it'll end up being closed a year out!

I think as long as we keep things small we should keep DIStag open until a couple months before the cruise to give newer people a chance to play. I don't think I joined the KK thread until May before the cruise, and I would have missed out on a lot.

:headache: Just spent ages going through all our old utility bills:headache: - do you all keep them too? We shredded tons of old paperwork when we moved, but its built back up again.

We're thinking of switching providers to see if they are any cheaper. Just did a pre -thingy online and we may be able to save $1000+ a year if we switch provider:banana:

I'll leave Neil to sort out the rest - this sort of thing gives me a :headache:

Same with technology - I have absolutely no interest in anything - if its new and in a box then Neil has to get it working then just show me where the "on" button is:rotfl:

Hi everyone. Just popping in to catch up on PM's before we head out to Cabo. Our tour meets at 10:45, so I only have a few minutes.

Cass, you'll be happy to know that Minnie made a little girl cry on embarkment day. Total B!tch, huh? :rotfl2:

So, not sure which story will tease you guys more, the one about Suz having to actually use/talk to the head server about the service or the one of our group being DENIED access to Sessions last night.

I'll try to post some logs tonight. If not then, it will be on our next sea day. We are in port all day tomorrow at PV.

Talk soon.

Nice pics of all the distags Nancy, just a shame about the horrendous 'Birstall News' tea towel in the middle of it all!!! An error of judgement on my Dad's part, i promise they will be better next year, you know when we back are on the Disney Magic, nudge nudge wink wink...!

Karen, your poem is brilliant!! I have passed your regards onto my Dad - AFEG and co. are today going to the beach. Looking at very clever 'Verandah Man's' gorgeous picture it will no doubt be a rubbish day....not. Rosie told me today that they had seen the server who we had last year, fingers-crossed it was the one we liked and not the one we had to complain about (a lot)....

Congratulations on A/C Cass, unsurprisingly in this country we never seem to need it......

We booked the same room for the BOB cruise that we had last year in the Med. I tell the kids that it is our "home" on the Magic. It just moves around between our trips and other people get to use it. Room 7552. :boat:

Jeff, leave a note on the door and say the Crosmans say "hi"

I am so hoping that DCL does the Northern European cruise in 2010. It would be great! I've even made up some of the port calls. (Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, etc.)

FO??? what is that???

DIS Tag??

This is copied from the B.O.B. website:

DIS Tag

Dis Tag is a fun game to play while onboard with a specified amount of participants, so be sure to sign up early!

Basically the idea is to buy a small gift for each of the participants.
You will receive a spreadsheet and magnet from the Dis Tag Organizers (millerpjm & Karen Mouse) with all the names and
cabins listed. Throughout the week, you deliver your gifts all the while receiving them too!

You will start with the person listed directly below your name on the spreadsheet. Deliver your "gift" and leave the magnet at the top of their cabin door. Should your "gift" be too large to fit in the 'fish mail holder', locate any Stateroom Host/ess and request they take your gift directly into the room. When someone leaves you a gift and the magnet, deliver your surprise and received magnet to the next person on your list-and so on. When you get to the last person 'participating' at the bottom of the page, start at the top of the list. Continue until you get to the person listed above YOUR name.

So this means if we have 20 DISers who want to play tag, we will each have to bring 19 little gifts.

If you'd like to play, please email me at cass@cassworld.ca and I will add your name to the list.
If you have any questions please PM millerpjm or Karen Mouse.

Ok, a couple of questions...

FO??? what is that???

DIS Tag??

Andy answered the DIStag question, so I'll get this one.
