Looks like you are going to be on the east side of is you should be ok, but if I hear anyone say Honker down anywhere the next few days i'm going to go insane. And when it's over if everything is ok You will have as the news people say dodged a bullet just wait you will hear that one. I hope you are safe so get you water and things ready. Your know what to do you live in Florida. I was hoping in turn just a little more west to give us a little rain.

We went food shopping, filled the cars with gas and got some cash (in case power/ATM's go out) today.

We already have plenty of flashlights and batteries in the house at all times so that's not a problem.

This is all just part of the common sense precautions we take when we hear there might be a hurricane.

Now we just wait and see what happens.

Current projections put it over central Florida as a weaker storm - but it's still way too early to tell what will happen.

They say this one is "Comin' right for us".....I would say they say that all the time but the last time they said that was Charley...which, of course did NOT come right for us.

This will be no Charley, I think. Even so...Publix is nuts...Wal Mart looks like a war zone...I'm not even going near a Home Depot...:sad2: It could be yucky here, coming from the south might push the storm surge into the bay.

Kevin and John,

You know if a TV crew comes by that you will have curlers in your hair while wearing an old housecoat: "It was PANDEMONIUM! The trailer started shaking and I was scared toothless!" :lmao:

My bro lives nearby so I get hourly reports about the impending hurricane. All of you take care and know that we would be right there on TV with you.

That's funny news reporters always know who will get on camera, and from my experience in the news business there are a certain type of folks who really don't care of bad they look, and will always get on TV, but it makes our job easy because some people like myself have pride and would never get on TV with rollers in my hair ( Pete I know why would I have rollers in my hair just work with me here I'm making a point) are if my dentures had been blow away in the storm not getting on national TV toothless. Yes it's that breed of folks that I see on TV after one comes through Florida that help me know MS. is not the home to the rednecks, but that they make there home in every state of the union even the Sunshine State.

Good Lucy I will pray for you.

Looks like you are going to be on the east side of is you should be ok

The east side is actually usually the worst side to be on. But if it goes on land at the southern tip of FL but the time it reaches the Orlando area it should have lost a lot of its steam.

True, every storm there are those who wait till the last possible moment to run out and get batteries and supplies. Then they complain when they can't find what they need or they're ill prepared.

So glad you're all hunkered down safely.

Hope your hurricane party turns into a pudding party. After the storm blows over and you're left with gallons of emergency milk. You make pudding and have another party.

Thank you for keeping us posted. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

Just means that Fay is making landfall. :) Late October isn't that popular with hurricanes. Aug/Sept. tend to be the most popular months except for during 2005 but that was an odd year for hurricanes and one that hopefully won't be repeated any time soon.

We have been told repeatedly throughout the night that our biggest threat was not wind and/or rain, but the tornadoes within the outer bands.

We were under a tornado watch from 8pm until 8am.

Thankfully, we've gotten through that without incident.

Thanks for the warning that winds are stronger today there, I'm sure it will move this direction. haha of course since Sunday they have said, oh it is going to hit Monday evening, oh nope, Tuesday morning, oh Tuesday afternoon, and we still haven't gotten much so it makes it hard to believe them :)

JACKLYNN,

Would you mind telling us HOW WEATHER IS BY YOU THIS AM???????

I'm about 17 miles north of Downtown Disney...

It is cloudy and breezy here, but that is about it. I would say the winds are about 15-20mph, which isn't too windy. I believe its in the upper 70's to lower 80's out.

But keep in mind in 20 mins it could be pouring and more windy, you never know.... or we could get nothing but a bunch of talk from the storm.

It seems to have kinda stalled in our area Brevard county. A lot of the roads are flooded and they say were gonna get another 6 inches of rain. So that totals to a foot of rain maybe more. It looks like alot of our roads are closed due to flooding.

The weather here isn’t that bad right now - light rain, light gusts of wind.

Last night we saw the worst of what we were supposed to get – high winds, a lot of rain – but we never lost power and while we had our eyes and ears open for a tornado none were reported in our area.

All WDW theme parks are open and operating as usual today.

We are keeping an eye on what this storm will do next as some models have it making a left and coming back over us (others say it will go out to see than come back into Georgia).

DJ - stay safe - you guys got the worst of this one for sure.

I'm in Melbourne. To say it's raining is an understatement. We live in a second story apartment so no fear of flooding, but when DH takes the dogs out to walk (because they don't understand and won't go in the apartment) they practically have to swim to get to the little patch of high ground around...and DH goes out in his swim trunks!

Just heard on the news that we have received more rain from Fay than all 3 hurricanes in 2004 and in the last 36 hours have gotten more than half of our annual average rainfall! Yikes!
