JAN09 WISH nametags for POP Meet. DUE 12/23rd.

Hi Everyone!!

I have volunteered to do name tags for the WISH meet. I am gathering names of WISH team members that WILL be at the POP Wish Meet during Marathon Weekend. I can also do a WISH team member's significant other, but will probably have to draw the line there as I'm sure and have been told that MANY people come to this meet.

I would like to start gathering a database for when the time comes to print everything out. On the name tag will be your Disboard Username and your first name. If you don't want your first name on it, then just let me know.

I will have blank tags for others in attendence/late comers/ or those that aren't sure if they are coming.

I have about 100 nametags already. I have the design all set up.
I purchased to paper, nametag holders, ink and pins. This has gotten to be alittle on the $$ side and really don't mind doing it but if anyone is feeling generous at the meet and would like to donate to the cause, it would be greatly appreciated!

Did you stay at POP Century this last trip ? Did you fly up, or drive? Are you driving up in January?

I stayed at POP this past weekend. I drive to Disney, it's only about 3.5 hours away, so flying is kinda silly, unless the price was really cheap because by the time the plane gets up to cruising altitude it's time to prepare to land. hehe

We'll be driving in January also, leaving Thursday sometime after I get off from work around 1pm. Be there around 5pm or so. May go to EXPO first or check in at Poly first, not sure which one.

When I fly from Oahu to Molokai or Lanai, they take off, give you a small POG juice cup. There's enough time to open it, down it in 3 gulps, and then you have to stow away your tray, because you're already about to land. :lmao:

Going to Maui, Big Island, and Kauai, they include a tiny bag a pretzel mix, because you have that much longer to enjoy a snack. :rotfl2:

For some reason I thought you lived farther away than 3.5 hours. That's not a bad road trip. Kinda like driving from SF to Tahoe or Reno (Right Michelle?)

I estimate we need 22.5 tables for 90 people at the POP food court. We better get some people over there early to save some tables. I know the Disney Deads are also meeting there at 5:30 pm, but that's a much smaller group (about 20-25).

There are booths and tables in there. Booths are kinda big and can fit about 6 people. Tables can be moved around. not sure what goes on at this meet. I know I didn't sit at the Minnie meet. We all walked around alot and then took photos and then a team photo. I think someone called for the Minnie Meet at the POR to give them a heads up, so need to find out if they called last year and if we should call again this coming meet. I guess those that are staying to eat would definately need tables.

I need to order the pins and then I'm done.

There were well more than that. The folks in the photo are the walkers/runners so it doesn't include the family members that joined us. I believe we had close to 100 last year. That's one reason we always meet so early, to try not to place an undue burden on the restaurant at rush time.

Anne usually calls ahead a couple weeks to let them know we're coming. Pop has always been more than accomodating, even offering to open a separate line just for us. I think maybe half the group stayed for dinner last year.

We will be staying at POP Friday night but because we live local, not sure what time we are checking in so I'm not sure if I will make the meet. I am planning on sending DD to school that day and if she stays a full day, she gets off the bus at 4:40pm. If I pick her up at noon, we will be there and I will decide as we get closer. Anyone wishing to donate, please give what you feel you would like to. I haven't really rigured what it costs me per tag, but I figure around .60 per tag. I have aprox 98 tags. I am just guessing, but again - please only give a donation if you feel the need, I did this because I wanted too and would do it again without question.

Chris??? How much do I have to pay to get that photo of the pointy headed me away from you? :lmao: Seriously, I'm am very tired of the wind. I am ok with the cold, I've done the runs in the rain, snow, sleet and slush but I HATE the wind. I'll be very happy to race in something much lighter than wind pants and fleece. My last race was on Dec 13th, a 5K which I did pretty good in, for me a PR of 39:24 (actually Garmin says I did 3.16 which was 12:29 mpm) and that darn thing was in WIND and SLEET. I can't wait to run in the sun!!! Our 10 miler this weekend was in the 50's I think when we were out there, but thanks to the snow melt you couldn't see far thanks to the fog. SUN SUN SUN!!!

Hopefully I will be wearing a color and layer much more flattering. :rotfl: I might like the color LIME, even have a non-wish shirt in it but I look horrible in it.

Guess we need to be packing this weekend, huh? :woohoo:

Oh I have a much cooler hat now, it's from New Balance and it's one of those Nordic ones with the ear cover and strings hanging down LOL I decided if I had to wear a hat it might as well be fun and cheerful. it works great actually. :)
