We have 150 from resale of BWV. We want about another 150 at BWV to spend a week every third year in GV at BW with extended family. We also want enough points BLT points for a two bedroom for a week every other year at BLT--if/when that happens. I'd also consider some misc. smallish contract somewhere to use in various locations for various reasons.

We have 225 points at SSR. I want to add on another 25 points this year. I think 250 points give us enough to do what we want on our vacations. The yearly dues keep adding up.
We tend to go during off peak times to avoid the crowds and the heat. We went one year in February and pretty much had the parks to ourselves. It was great!!!
But it is definitely true that you can never have to many points.

I started with 270 at OKW and then did three small add-ons there over the next several years for a total of 500 points. But, family kind of trailed off and with the current economy, I downsized this spring back to the original 270.

Would I add on again? Possibly, depending on what BLT DOES sell for and if there'd be any hint of a DVC at the Poly. For now, I'm content with what I own.

And, although not germaine to the topic, I DO love my DVC. What a great opportunity to stay in wonderful accommodations, and bring back memories of sharing such special times when I was able to enjoy vacations with my family and friends.

I hate to say it also, but I've considered downsizing to 300 also with the way the economy is and also the low cost of resales right now. No its basically first come first serve basis based on availability of points and the use year you have. I seem to have a pretty good UY for BCV (April) because I have never had to wait long for an add on (while I have heard stories of others waiting a looooooooog time).

We are so glad to have enough points for 2 trips to WDW or sometimes do a II trade. We have saved a lot of money over the years and it was the greatest thing we ever did. We couldn't have stayed in GV's at 1000 a night but can stay there now for many nights. LOVE DVC!!!

My BWV contract is for 174 pts. On the chart, that would be a 7 days (1 week) of pts. for a 1 bdrm. standard "choice" season. We bought resale, so I think the "guides" pushed for those types of contracts to the original buyers.
