If we are too full after our entree is it possible for us to have our dessert boxed up so we can have it later?

While I don't know if this is technically allowed, we did do it several times on our last trip. We just asked if we could have the desert boxed and there was no problem. It was nice to eat those scrumptious deserts on the balcony of our room later on in the evening.:lovestruc

I know they allowed it at the Kona Cafe...it's the only place I've tried it. However, think twice about walking around with it for the rest of the night, and especially if you don't have a mini-fridge, are you going to eat it later, or the next day?

If you think this is going to be the case, ask your server for advice!

A couple of years ago, I ate at the Turf Club but was too full for dessert. My server pointed out which item (chocolate lava cake-type item) would be transportable and would not need refrigeration.

We have done this at many TS restaurants - Kona Cafe, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Turf Club Grill and Cap'n Jack's. The waiters will also tell you what desserts hold up best for take out. Sometimes we save our desserts for breakfast the next morning!

The servers WANT you to take it with you rather than nix it because you're too full. THEN they get tipped on the price of the desserts;) ::yes:: :ssst:

In June 2007, we asked at Maya Grill, (we were going straight back to our room at CSR), the server said she would do it, but they were not suppose to do it, and if I ask somewhere else, they might tell me no! She was very nice about it. We didn't ask anywhere else.

We have one of those pop-up Tupperware bowls that we use to store things we want to take from the restaurants. We just throw it in our backpack.

Yes they do want to add the cost of the desserts to the total of the meal for tipping. If you say you are too full for dessert I'm sure they would be the ones to suggest that you take it to go.

We do it often...

One time was fantastic at Whispering Canyon... we got the fruit platter w/ yogurt :thumbsup2 had it for breakfast the next day. (although we were staying at W.L.)

You have got that right! Even when we say we are too full for dessert, they want us to order something to take "to go".
