Sorry if there is a thread all ready. But I thought this would help so I don't forget something.
Thanks

A pop-up hamper so I wouldn't have 4 piles of dirty clothes everywhere! :laundy:
Oh, and a full bottle of contact solution - so I wouldn't have had to pay $9 for a teeny tiny little bottle in the hotel shop!!!!!!
Lessons learned! My packing list keeps growing and growing - DH is going to wonder if we are moving there (not a bad idea!!!)

I pack a multi-outlet extension cord (brand name, Power Squid or something like that). That way, I only have to access one wall outlet and charge all our gizmos in one place -- digital cameras, camcorder, cell phones, etc.

I see from your signature that you don't have children, so not all of these apply, but may help someone else:
a nightlight
laundry detergent
bandaids
scissors
pool toys/floaties
aspirin
Love the extension cord idea - that would make my life so much easier!:thumbsup2

scissors
I don't have children but I always pack scissors (children's size-they're smaller) anyways. One trip, I forgot and ended up having to cut up moleskin on the floor of a resort gift shop, because I had to borrow their scissors and there was no space at the counter. A little girl walked by and asked her mother "Mommy, what is that lady doing on the floor?"
Yup, I haven't forgotten scissors OR moleskin since!

a nightlight
I don't have kids, but I make sure I at least pack one of these for the bathroom. I hate to get up in the night to go to the bathroom and have to turn on all the bright lights. It wakes me up too much and then it takes too long to get back to sleep. I'd much rather have a nightlight that gives enough light to get around, but not enough to make it seem like the sun has come up. Those little flickering orange appendages to the hair dryers just don't cut it for me.
If I'm in a larger DVC unit, I'll usually put one in the bathroom, and one in the kitchen, so if I need a drink at night, I don't have to turn on the kitchen light either. Since the bedroom has doors, I don't have to have the nightlights shining into the bedroom either, so it's plenty dark to sleep.
I would agree with the extension cord. It seems like there are fewer and fewer available outlets in the rooms these days. I also like to pack a few ziploc baggies, usually the gallon size. They come in handy for sealing snacks and a myriad of other things.

Great tips everyone!!! I got most of the stuff already on my list except for one...a nightlight!!! Duh! With 2 girls I'm sure one in the bathroom would be great for late night potty breaks. Thanks so much for the idea!:thumbsup2

We have taken small inner tubes, water wings, dive sticks. No one has ever said a word and my kids stay entertained forever! I've never taken balls, just because I'd be worried that my son would clock someone with them!
In past years, I've purchased those inner tubes with the leg holes in the center because we've had little kids (4 and under) and the water is too deep for them once they get past the steps. This way they have some freedom of movement! :thumbsup2

Don't forget your battery charger. Have bottled water and snacks delivered to your room from Garden Grocer. A pop up hamper. Laundry detergent and Dryer sheets, with a roll of quarters. Pillows from home. Lysol spray. Those are ourmust have items. :-)

We always pack a small first aid kit with bandaids, antibiotic cream, all the usual stuff. I also take a small febreeze, I have seen small travel size in stores, I take those and just give the room a fresh smell after the lysol smell.
I also take my own hand soap, shampoo etc, I keep the ones Disney gives as souveniers, also I am allergice to most soaps, so I don't take the chance.
I take a walk in the sample section of my local walmart so I don't have to take the full size anything. It also acts as a reminder of anything I might have forgotten.
I also get the samples of laundry detergent, if I am planning to do laundry while there. Plenty of change for the machines too. Laundry soap at WDW is lots of $$$.
Sunscreen, no matter what time of year you are going, you just may need it, and of course I buy it in the sample size.
I use a fanny pack when in the parks, so I keep bandaids, sunscreen, moleskin, as well as my key card and money and list of ADR's ect in the fanny pack. Each morning I restock, check to see if I have what I may need for the day. I take prescripton meds, so don't forget to take extra, just in case.
I like the nite lite idea and the extention cord.

A battery power alarm clock that I know how to work.
More than once the one in the room didn't go off.
If you have little ones---safety locks for cabinets and safety outlet covers. We brought those on our last visit to Old Key West and they were a big help. Also, cell phone battery charger.
I always bring a nightlight w/me for my little ones and a travel size first aid kit.

I too am allergic to bleach, and yes on the face is total misery. I have covered a sofa sized pillow with Mickey Mouse Fleece, use it on the drive down to Fl, then take it in the resort to keep my face off the pillow from the resort. The rest of me is mostly covered with my bed clothes, but it was my feet that I had problems with, skin peeled something awful this last time. So in short I will be keeping my feet covered with socks or something for our next visit.

The over the door organizer ----great for keeping things up and away.
Small baskets to place on the table--we toss everything into it at night so we know wher we "dropped" everything the night before. Keeps snacks and little momentos you pick up organized.
Downey wrinkle reducer. I spray down the shirts we are going to wear the next day before going to bed, by morning wrinkle free.
If staying a value resort a shower curtain and the 3m hooks (forgot what they are called). I out the hooks on the wall in front of the sink. Then I clothespin a large beach towel to the shower curtain. This gives you additional private space for dressing in the morning or changing. I HATE getting dressed in a steamy bathroom and trying pull on clothes that have been sittin ghere in the steam also!!!!
A flashlight. We always travel with a flashlight---because you never know when you might need one.
extra socks/slippers to wear in trhe room.
Most of the others have been posted here already: lysol (for remotes, phones, alarm clocks, hair dryer, doorknobs,--the stuff everyone touches but hosuekeeping usually never cleans); night light, laundry detergent sample sized.

Rubber Band or Metal binder clips to close bags of snacks to keep them fresh.
Binder clips also come in handy to keep the curtains closed. I hate that they don't close all the way and there is that tiny stream of light always shining through that little sliver where the curtains just don't overlap. After a long day at the park, darkness helps for a good night sleep!

Oh I like the binder clips idea for the cutain, but for me more for privacy.
One thing, since they have the signs at Disney about reusing bath towels, you know thinking green, well if you have more than one person staying in a room, the mousekeeping comes in and either rehangs your towels, or replaces them. If you are like me, you don't want to reuse a towel that someone else used, even if they are family. You might want to be able to quickly identify which towel was yours the day before. So, I have decided I will take clips or colored safety pins, something the mousekeeper can easily see. Assign each person a different color and clip or pin this to the towel, then when the towels are rehung, easy to see which is which or belongs to what user.
I also have mousekeeper envelopes already to add money at the time of our trip for their tip, so if you plan to leave a tip like I do, one envelope for each night of your stay. I also have envelopes for tips for our ADR's ready to go.

We also bring most of what the others have said! :goodvibes
We also bring pillows! :rotfl: We always bring our own pillows... no matter where we stay! Why? Because you never know if someone has drooled on the furnished pillow, used it as a cushion for a chair as they sat in the room, or if they have propped something up (like their feet :scared1: ), and so on!
We also bring Tylenol and Dramamine (travel size for the parks)!
Oh yeah, we never go without slippers (or flip-flops) for in-room use and surf shoes for the pool/pool area! Being diabetic means being ecspecially careful with your feet so this is now a "must" for me... but to be truthful we have always used surf shoes in pools and DH/DS are so funny... they even use slippers or sandals at home, they have an aversion for walking with bare feet)! :rotfl:

Baggies! :goodvibes All sizes of baggies! I use Ziploc... like and trust them best! :thumbsup2 They are great to keep items dry in case of water rides or rain and they definately help keep me organized!
I use them both in-room and in my park bag! :goodvibes
I have snack baggies big enough to hold my small cell phone (and for DH/DS cell phones as well, but they usually keep those baggies in their pockets for water-ride use), snack size for my hand sanitizer and for my small sunscreen/SPF lip balm, then quart size for Tylenol/Dramamine/ prescription meds/inhalers/ect..., and one also for contact solution and contact cases, then XL size to hold my bag if a downpour starts, gallon size for a receipts and tickets inside my bag, and a gallon size to put my camera case into, ect... I also take extras to keep in my bag.
In the room we use them for packing and storing items, food, ect...

I purchased the very extra large zip bags to pack swim gear in, suit, towel, sun block, flip flops etc. That way they could change at one of the beaches into swimming stuff, then put regular clothes in the bag, and return the wet stuff when changing back before heading back to the resort. That kept all things together and all things wet in the bag until they returned and we could hand things out to dry or take them to the laundry room to dry.
When kids were little, I packed one outfit in a gallon zip bag, marked what day it was to be worn, and packed that in the suitcase, then the dirty things were returned to the bad when bathing that night. Kept the dirty things from the clean things. I would pack everything for one outfit in one bag, top, shorts, underthings, socks and ribbons etc for my daughter. I had the kids dress with alike t-shirts when they were little, then if one child wondered off, I had an example of what the kid was wearing to show the CM's when looking for the missing child. In this case it would have been the 7 yr old who would have and did wonder off, luckily I never had to get the CM's involved. He was quite independent and did not see the harm in just going to the restroom with out telling me. Oh my, it is a wonder I did not have a heart attack when he was young.

GREAT ideas from everyone. I also always bring small and extra large ziplock bags. They do have so many uses. We bring a ziplock bag of powdered laundry detergent. We also bring a ziplock bag of cereal for a quick breakfast or snack. We use the bags to keep the cameras and stuff dry on rides and to pack wet or dirty kids clothes in. You can use one to make an icepack too.
Lysol or Oust are great to bring both for the disinfecting purpose and because you'll be in close quarters -if you know what I mean.
I also bring a coloring book and crayons so the kids have something to do while we're getting ready. If kids bring a stuffed animal Mousekeeping might do something fun with it. Kids :rolleyes1 love to decorate the room window area. The dollar stores sometimes have those window clings. We found Princess and Pooh ones. I wish I brought some with me last time - I heard about it every time we walked by other rooms with them.:sad2: Individual powdered drink mix packets are good for in-room drinks if you don't like the taste of the tap water. Also, I don't know if anyone mentioned rain ponchos. We get the dollar store ones so we can just toss the soggy ones.

I get most of my sample size things at Walmart, most recently I got Tide, which is the only detergent I can use as I have allergies. I just browse the sample section in health and beauty each time I visit. In the past I have gotten Gain (which I could use for the family's clothes) and some fabric softeners, I think Downy but not sure. If I had not had enough samples, I had planned to go to a local laundrymat and purchase the laundry things needed before leaving for Florida, that way I would had still saved over the cost of purchasing at WDW.
Also if you go to the Walmart website they have a section for "Samples", they are free, the last time I looked, they had Tide samples.
I also check the website from time to time for products that I use, to see if they are offering free samples and request them when they do. Things like laundry detergent and non perishables I put back for my Disney trips. Things like cereal we eat, that is until it gets close to the trip, then we save them for breakfast or snacking.
Hope I helped!

I think the best thing we took on our last trip was the baggies. That was a great suggestion. I didn't take the basket to throw stuff each day. I will be bringing one on my next trip.
I also took an extension cord which was great. I always knew where all the chargers were and when I did use a regular outlet instead of the extension cord, I left my it at the hotel, ARGH!!!
One new suggestion, hand wipes or diaper wipes (even if you don't have kids). They come in handy when you get something on your fingers or just want to freshen up. Don't forget your Tide Pen! If you are like me, you can't eat without something dripping on your clothes.

Never leave home without baggies! That left over half of a cookie tastes even better a half hour later!
Alos, we throw in 6 or 10 pieces of tissue paper. I line the bottom of the drawers before putting clothes in. I really can't imagine the mousekeeping scrubbing those down each time...

I don't go ANYWHERE without my Tide to Go pen. I have them EVERYWHERE. My other "must have" is an antibacterial gel "pen". This is the little pen sized spray bottle, and it's the perfect size for my bag because it doesn't take up a lot of space. It's also great for the husband or son to put in their pockets.

I keep a travel bag with toiletries ready to travel at all times. When I shop and there is choice to purchase a razor with a free shaving cream I will purchase that. I then will put the free item in the travel bag. Overtime I have everything I need to travel already packed and ready for a weekend trip as well as our Disney trip. I think that the travel items are very expensive so when the opportunity to get what I use for free it helps with the overall budget.
I also start packing three weeks in advance. I take full advantage of the buy one get one free items well in advance.

Ponchos are OK but you tend to sweat under them and get pretty damp. I prefer to keep the ponchos for water rides and use dollar store folding umbrellas for rain events. The little umbrellas also double as sun shade for when you're waiting for parades or in lines that extend to places that are not under cover, like the Safari ride in AK.

I like to take an empty, sandwich sized, tupperware container with me into the parks to save uneaten food in. I'm using the DDP this October and I know I may not want that brownie, or cookie or cake after my CS meal. If I put it into my backpack as is it'll just get crushed...but in the tupperware I'll have it in tact for a midnight snack ( or breakfast ;) ).

Just a couple of things I throw in my suitcase: Downy wrinkle release spray, tea bags, coffee, filters, extra zip lock bags (always come in handy), large mugs (the ones at the resort are too small for us!), sugar and and a large "carpet bag" or duffle to take home all the things I buy there. I also pack any shampoos, conditioner, the Downy, etc. in ziploc bags.

I bring the fold up storage bins the little square ones, to put our socks underwear and PJ's in. There are 4 of us and 4 small drawers are not enough for all our clothes. Plus it makes it easier for my son just to grab his things out of instead of pulling all his clothes out looking for his stuff. They are Great for little kids clothes.
BENADRYL - I usually bring the children's version because I have little ones. While we don't have any allergies, we never know when we will discover a new one. It also helps with the sudden change of weather sniffles. Doctor also recommended it to settle down my adhd child when she has to sleep in a different place.
Wipes- Sometimes we need more than just hand sanitizer gel. We throw some in the front the backpack for easy access. It helps when dd has touched something gross or needs quick snack.

Our must haves:
Multi-plug surge protector. This way I can plug in all my battery chargers in one place. I usually plug it in behind the tv cabinet (have to move it usually) and have the plug strip on the table. Makes it convenient for the toaster as well.
Room Spray-small room, small bath fan, enough said. :goodvibes
My own foaming soap from B&BW. I love it at home and hate bar soaps.
Lots of ziplocs.
Bag clips to keep snacks and cereal fresh.
Plastic Bowls for cereal in a.m.
Small, clip on or table top fan. I need the white noise and with the room a/c shutting down at night I need the coolness (only needed at value, others have ceiling fans.)
My assortment of O/C meds just in case. I usually have 2 containers ( I reuse orginal bottles) one for my purse, or bag, and one for in the room. I always carry: Aleve, Midol, Migraine Excedrin, Anti-Diarhea, Anithisitime, & Antacid.
Rechargeable batteries for everything.
Extra SD cards for dig cam. I like to take alot of pix.
Clothespin to close drapes. I like the idea of bindfer clips though.
Re: ponchos. Last year I bought a bog a 4 mesh bags at WM and they are perfect for carrying wet ponchos in. I clipped this on the stroller but this eyar will be our first year w/o one so I'll be clipping it to my bag-also bring carringer (sp?) clips.
My name and phone number on everything that I might lose. This has brought back my camera bag with batteries and SD cards that I left on the plane. :wizard:
That's just some of my must haves.
