I am organizing one for my family and friends here, and wanted to ask my fellow DISers to join me a toast for the closing of Pleasure Island and specifically the Adventurer's Club.

I believe that a) PI is closing on September 27th, and b) the AC usually opens its doors at 7:30pm. Therefore, I am proposing:

Official "THE FINAL KUNGALOOSH TOAST" on Saturday, September 27th, at 7:30PM.

Of course, feel free to continue drinking those Kungalooshes right through until club closing (2:00AM). Anyway, if you are willing to join me toast the best night life Disney has ever had to offer, post your message here!

The AC opens at 8, not 7.

Both this website and allears.net list Pleasure Island as opening at 7pm. Allears even suggests that the first show at AC is at 7:20. Can anyone else confirm the 8pm opening? If it is 8pm, then by all means let's do the toast at 8!!

OK - I just called WDW based on this info:

Downtown Disney Pleasure Island (407) 828-3025
1590 Buena Vista Drive
PO BOX 10000
Lake Buena Vista, Fl 32830

The person at this number said that all the clubs are open frmo 7:30PM until 2:00AM. Apparently we should toast at 7:30!!!

Both the sites and the phone call are currently incorrect. As of June 1, 2008, AC opens at 8 and closes at 1.

OK - well let's toast early then. It doesn't really matter when, as long as we are having a toast in memory of the Adventurer's Club. I am posting the two recipes I found.

Old Kungaloosh Recipe -- Circa 1997
1 1/4 ounce vodka
1 1/4 ounce Malibu Rum
3/4 ounce Midori (melon liqueur)
2 tablespoons pineapple juice
1 splash cranberry juice

New Kungaloosh Recipe -- since 2000 or so
1 cup Daily's Strawberry Daiquiri Mix
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum
1/4 cup blackberry brandy

Obviously adjust proportionally for your serving needs!!

I am still seeing conflicting opening (and closing) times for PI, but I think we are definitely going to toast at 7:30. Anyone else want to raise their glass in honor of PI (and specifically the AC)? I know that a lot of rumors are out there regarding the Adventurer's Club enduring beyond the close of PI - possibly in a new location - but this will be a change no matter what the future brings!

Wish I had seen this earlier. I was talking to my friends who got into line around 2pm, and around 5pm the line was stretched past BET. Hope you got in.

FYI, I'm pretty certain the "new" recipe was in effect in 1999, as I was unable to drink them (allergic to strawberries). There was another drink though that was next on the menu that was really good - but I don't remember its name or its contents...

Drinking an original Kungaloosh right now...
