We will be staying for 10 days and are on the deluxe dining plan.

So- we are thinking we need actual cash for tips and mousekeeping and odds and ends. Does anything else come to mind?

We plan on using a credit card for most purchases but we are wondering if we used our debit card to purchase an item is there an option for cash back? We are trying to avoid an atm fee if possible.

I don't think we use cash for anything other than "smashed quarters machines":rotfl2: I charge everything to the room, even if it is $1. Like you said, there are the tips of course which require cash but can't think of anything else -- maybe the laundry machines?

There are some carts that do not take cards (room keys, credit, you get the idea). I think I ran into at least one at each park. Also sometimes the machines go down. I would prob carry a $20 with me all the time just in case. I think last year for our entire week I could have had $40 in cash, charged everything and still not have to go to a ATM. I will prob carry about $100 this year though just in case.

don't forget if you're flying to have tip money for the skycap guys. Also I like to have a little extra. What if someone gets sick and you need a taxi to a Dr./clinic? Always good to be prepared though at home I usually never have more than $20 in my wallet. :goodvibes

I usually carry at least 40.00. One cab ride can be 15.00 right there.

I think you need a lot of cash at Disney, we had the DDP and still went thru over a thousand dollars (just pocket money)for 6 days doesn't everybody? LOL:rotfl: So if I were you or if you were me I would need over $2500.00 right :confused3

Disney is cashless. The tips can be paid with credit cards and the taxis have credit card machines. On my last trip I took about $50 ones. I used it for housekeeping and luggage handling. I did not use it all.

I tend to overbudget, meaning I bring more than what I need 'just in case.' I bring $50/day in cash, and I rarely spend it all. Disney is cashless, as another poster said. Make sure to have plenty of singles for the bellman, etc.

Enjoy your trip!

took $200 for a six night stay. That included a couple of days on the road. When I changed into my casual clothes after work I forgot to take move my money clip so we really only took about $120 and we still ended up with cash at the end. We probably spent a total of $20-$30 on water and snack in the parks.
