We want to add 50 points- our use year is June. I'd like to buy before the price increase. Since there is so little time left do we even get points now or not until June? If we do get them I guess it is too late to bank them. Can we change which points are used for a reservation we have booked and use them? Thanks for the help. Beth

With an add-on, DVC will frequently waive the banking rules and let you bank the points.

Given how close we are to June, it may also be possible to simply purchase the points such that you get them starting with your next use year.

My suggestion would be to call your guide and discuss what your options are.

If you are planning on purchasing an add-on at BCV they will give you June 2002 points, not 2001.

Okay, that is different, I am not sure what they would do then, if they give you 2001 points, they usually give the banking exception as stated earlier.

We just did an add-on at VWL and had the same issue. Guide said that they give a couple days "grace" and we could bank the points. I'd suggest you double-check with your guide, hopefully we got the same story!

We were unable to bank the 50 points, but luckily there was someone who was able to use them. I'm waiting to see if we get any gift with a small add on. Thanks for your input.

BethA can you clarify this. Did you rent the points?, or give them to freinds/family? We are contimplating an add-on at HH, and we also have a June use year. We don't want to lose the 2001 points.

I just added on at WL (Sept) use year - and got the 2001 points. I was able to bank the points because the Guide called MS and got them to "waive" the restriction -- this was successful mostly because I had originally wanted to add on in Feb - but was put on Wait-List to add on Sept. points.

There is not an incentive (gift) for adding at WL.

BETH A -- when you "rented" your points here -- how did you facilitate it?? Did you just call MS and tell them to transfer 50 pts to whoever it was that wanted them??

How did you work out the collection of money? Did you get the so-called "going" rate of $10/pt or did you charge less?
