Interesting short article on CNN... This is one reason I don't use valet. If I can't access my car for some reason, strangers certainly aren't going to have access.

Heck, they're welcome to take MY car for a spin, if it gets me 4 park tickets and a $50 gift certificate.

Seriously, I guess if it's your car, you might want to take a photo of the odometer when you give it to the attendant...that way you have some recourse and evidence.

Interesting...For some reason I immediately thought of that scene in "Ferris Buhler's Day Off" when the parking attendants took Ferris's friends car for a joy ride.

I had a friend that used to work as a valet at some ritzy restaurant, and if you knew half the stuff that went on when people valet there cars alot of people wouldnt valet anymore. Scrathes and having your change stolen are the nice things.

Ferris is the first thing that came to my mind. Love the 80s movies!!!!

Also, reminder to anyone who has one of those payment things (Mobil Express or Credit Card) on your keychain for fast swiping.....make sure you remove it before turning your keys over.

I have a BIL who used to work for a valet parking service that serviced a few nice restaurants and after hearing some of the things that they would do with or in peoples cars we started parking ourselves when we went out.

For some reason I think my little Civic is safe from the valet dude taking it for a Joy ride. Especially with the Disney family window decals. Nothing screams joyride like a mom mobile.:rotfl:

"Never mess with a man's truck"

Words some old Texan said at one time.

I would be pretty ticked if this were mine.
