I would say yes. I've been going there since I was a kid, and my DH and I had our first date there. It's VERY romantic at night. ;) But still an awesome view during the day.

We went in June and I have four kids who all really enjoyed it. It's free to explore but there are shows you can see for a fee if you want.

Here is their website with more info:

You can also see the Hollywood sign from there.

The Griffith Observatory is in Griffith Park. Other attractions in Griffith Park include the LA Zoo, the Museum of the American West, and Travel Town (small train museum). There are also pony rides, a carousel, hiking and picnicking. The Greek Theater is in the park and the Hollywood Bowl is nearby. Horses can be hired for trail rides in to the park.

Universal Studios is very close, as is Warner Brothers Studio.

Griffith Park is near Hollywood and attractions there.

The Observatory is definately worth a visit. It is a great little planetarium-type place with a great locale.

I went there last month. Griffith Park has a good view of Hollywood and the Hollywood sign. I didn't go inside the observatory though. Univeral Studios is nearby.

Griffith Observatory is a must. Be sure to go downstairs as well as the main floor. Watch "Rebel Without a Cause" before you go!
Nearby is Hollywood Walk of Fame, The Los Angeles Zoo, and the Autry Wild West Museum( which is much more interesting than it may sound.)

Absolutely a must-see, and it's far more fun at night.

If you have no interest in seeing the planeterium shows, then show up at around 9PM. You can drive all the way up to the top and find good parking after 9PM. Parking is a major pain at Griffith before 9PM and on weekends.

How difficult is it to get tickets to a show on the day of a show? If it's a Sunday?

Thanks!

This is a definite MUST if you can work it out!
