We were one of the unlucky ones having to be moved from an AKV concierge studio in October but thought we would try again for our trip in March 2009. So yesterday, at the 7 month window, we called to reserve a concierge studio for the 13th and 14th of March. I was very happy that it was availalble but the MS representative told us to be prepared that renovations may be occurring at that time.
This surprised me a bit. I really thought the "renovations" were supposed to be finished by November. Do you think they are just be cautious since they were sideswiped with the current situation? Has anyone else had this same warning?
I am not really worried and don't plan on changing my reservation

It's probably a reference to the Sunset Savanna work.
From January 15 to April 15, 2009 the Sunset Savanna will not have any animals due to work at Kidani Village. About half of the concierge level rooms overlook the Sunset Savanna.
Congrats on getting the CL room at 7 months. It's always interesting to hear booking stories that sort of fly in the face of conventional wisdom. :thumbsup2

Oh, OK. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe we should try to get poo view instead, just in case. I am still happy about getting the concierge rooms. It will be my first trip back to DW in 2 years. I can deal.

We have a 3 night concierge studio stay for March...here's hoping the warning was just for the savannah. We did get that warning when I booked AKV for March.

We have booked 2 studios and a 2 bedroom at AKV concierge spanning over the last week of Feb into the first week of March. I booked it at the 11 month window (DBD) way before the whole "concierge level fiasco boot" and MS had indicated back then that there would be construction going on in and around the Sunset Savannah. We did request pool view for all rooms just to be safe. Congratulations on booking CL at 7 months. Enjoy, you deserve it! :thumbsup2

Even if there were no construction going on, your chances of getting a savanna concierge room is 60%.

Okay, now I'm confused....(guess that's what I get for being off the disboards for so long) and worried.
What was the "concierge level fiasco boot"?
Is there a thread that someone can refer me to?
I booked a studio at AKV for 1/12 to 1/22 - I knew about Sunset Savannah being closed, and asked them to make a remark not to move us if at all possible since this is our fifth wedding anniversary trip and we stayed there on our honeymoon. (i know, i know, but it doesn't hurt to note it)
Should I worry?

I stayed there at the end of June, it was someone's job to "clean poo" every morning!

:rotfl: Oops! I prefer no "poo" in pool, better to keep it on the savanna.
