I was just curious. I feel like I always do the best I can and would die before I pay full price, :scared1: , but I am always looking for more, LOL.

How low can you really go? How low have you gone? What is the very best deal you have ever got on a room, and was it just luck or was it some kind of expertise you would care to share? :)

Back in 2005 we were to stay at the All Star Sports. Free dining came out and we would have saved around $600 or so. I asked how much AKL was. Originally our package before free dining at the sports was $2500. With free dining and staying at AKL it would be $2800. My DH said since we already had the $2500 in mind what was another $300 because we may never get the opportunity to stay in deluxe. The best part was that when we checked in, instead of have the standard room, we had the savannah view. Talk about pixie dust. It was the best!!!

Also we go at the end of August when the prices are a bit more manageable for us, plus free dining.

Back about 7 years ago, I received $199.00 per night for GF. I had called to reserve the Poly, then the offer popped up on the CM's screen! It was a fantastic trip!:cool1:

Good job guys!

I stayed at the Contemporary for under 200 a few years ago (maybe 180 or something) - and got upgraded to a tower room. I don't think I ever felt luckier than that.

Don't you just love getting a deal on your room though?

I had an $84 per night AP rate at CBR back in August 2004. Combined with an airfare of $49 each way on Song, it would have been a crime to pass it up. Great vacation!

In January 2002, when NO ONE was traveling, they offered $125 for a standard room at WL--and, of course, we took it!!!

We've gotten All Star Movies and Pop Century for $49/night a couple of times. In summer of 2004, we got Wilderness Lodge for $129/night. We've also gotten Grand Floridian for $199/night! Most of these were either specials or pin codes.

Last year (our first WDW trip) we paid to stay in a standard room at AS Music and we were upgraded free to a studio at SSR (we were notified of the upgrade in early June, our trip was mainly in September)! :wizard:

We also (the three of us, all considered adults) received the free DDP (ate at wonderful places) and a beautiful room, complete with a kitchenette, at SSR for about $82.00 a night TOTAL! :goodvibes

We had an AP rate in 2002 at CBR for around $80 and then Disney called to tell us that CBR was closing for a rehab.

So then they upgraded us to AKL Savannah View for the same price!

We're staying at the CR in a couple of weeks with a 40% off pin code. It was our first code and turned out to be cheaper than using free dining, even with paying for the dining plan ourselves!

The same thing happened to us at that time. We were offered the Polynesian for $109 a night (I believe that included tax). This was for the week leading up to Xmas and Xmas day. :hippie:

WAY back in the early 90's, my family got a special at CBR. It was 3 nights for $109, I think. More recently, $54 at All Stars.

Best deal... well I am in the travel biz so the BEST deal I ever got was at the Swan for 50.00 a night.

But the best 'anybody can get' deal I ever got was booking the Fall Fantasy ( 1997 ) package for my honeymoon. 2 adults at the Caribbean Beach for 7 nights with breakfast included for like 790.00.

That package was great because it was a sit down meal every day in the am. Saved LOTS of money!

Back in October 2003, we stayed at ASSports for some deal that I think was 8 days for the price of 4. It seemed like a great deal although it was several trips ago so I don't remember the exact price

Shades of Green was closed due to renovations, so everyone w/ a reservation paid the SOG rate at the Contemporary. It was too good of a deal to pass up.

Dang, $54 at the Contemporary, that's definitely the winner. :wizard:

Our best is this year - $239 GV at the Poly - a pincode rate.

In 2001 I was able to get a Garden wing room at the Contemporary for $169.00 with a code.

However, when we checked in we got upgraded for free to a Magic Kingdom view tower room.

It was the last week in August and there were no crowds (prior to free dining).

Last December from 19th to 27th we stayed at SSR in a 1 bed for $220 a night. Got the rate all through Xmas. Added dining for the 3 of us and 1 day ticket for a total of $2900. I thought I was being extravagant as this was the last part of our 3 week trip. This year, same trip would cost $7000 due to the individual pricing and no 40% code. Needless to say, I won't be paying that. Such a shame as I absolutely loved SSR at Xmas.

here's hoping for some more good deals, we need them!!!
